1 Chronicles 10

1And the PhilistinesH6430 foughtH3898 against IsraelH3478; and the menH376 of IsraelH3478 fledH5127 from before the PhilistinesH6430, and fellH5307 downH5307 slainH2491 on mount GilboaH1533. 2And the PhilistinesH6430 followed hard after SaulH7586 and after his sonsH1121; and the PhilistinesH6430 smote JonathanH3129, and AbinadabH41, and Malchi-shuaH4444, Saul's sonsH1121. 3And the battleH4421 went sore against SaulH7586, and the archersH3384 cameH4672 up with him, and he was terrified by the archersH3384. 4Then saidH559 SaulH7586 to his armour-bearer, DrawH8025 thy swordH2719, and thrust me through with it; lestH6435 these uncircumcisedH6189 comeH935 and abuse me. But his armour-bearer wouldH14 not; for he was much afraidH3372. So SaulH7586 tookH3947 the swordH2719 and fellH5307 on it. 5And when his armour-bearer sawH7200 that SaulH7586 was deadH4191, he fellH5307 likewise on the swordH2719, and diedH4191. 6So SaulH7586 diedH4191, and his threeH7969 sonsH1121, and all his houseH1004 diedH4191 togetherH3162. 7And when all the menH376 of IsraelH3478 that were in the valleyH6010 sawH7200 that they fledH5127, and that SaulH7586 and his sonsH1121 were deadH4191, they forsook their citiesH5892 and fledH5127; and the PhilistinesH6430 cameH935 and dweltH3427 in them. 8And it cameH935 to pass the nextH4283 dayH4283, that the PhilistinesH6430 cameH935 to stripH6584 the slainH2491, and they foundH4672 SaulH7586 and his sonsH1121 fallenH5307 on mount GilboaH1533. 9And they strippedH6584 him, and tookH5375 his headH7218, and his armour, and sentH7971 [them] into the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430 roundH5439 about, to announce the glad tidings to their idolsH6091, and to the peopleH5971. 10And they putH7760 his armour in the houseH1004 of their 1godH430, and fastened his headH1538 in the houseH1004 of DagonH1712. 11And whenH834 all they of Jabesh-Gilead heardH8085 of all that the PhilistinesH6430 had done to SaulH7586, 12all the valiant menH376 aroseH6965, and tookH5375 up the body of SaulH7586 and the bodies of his sonsH1121, and broughtH935 them to JabeshH3003, and buriedH6912 their bonesH6106 under the terebinthH424 of JabeshH3003, and fastedH6684 sevenH7651 daysH3117. 13And SaulH7586 diedH4191 for his unfaithfulnessH4604 which he committed against Jehovah, because of the wordH1697 of Jehovah which he keptH8104 not, and alsoH1571 for having inquired of the spirit of Python, askingH7592 counsel of it; 14and he asked not counsel of Jehovah; therefore he slew him, and transferred the kingdom to DavidH1732 the sonH1121 of JesseH3448.
