Just thenG2532G2400 some men broughtG43741 to HimG846 a paralyticG3885 lyingG906 onG1909 a matG2825. WhenG2532 JesusG2424 sawG3708 theirG846 faithG4102, He saidG2036 to theG3588 paralyticG3885, “Take courageG2293, sonG5043; yourG4771 sinsG266 are forgivenG863.”

On seeing thisG2532G2400, someG5100 of theG3588 scribesG1122 saidG2036 toG1722 themselvesG1438, “ThisG3778 man is blasphemingG987!”

ButG2532 JesusG2424 knewG14922 whatG3588 theyG846 were thinkingG1761 and saidG2036, “WhyG2443G5101 do you harborG1760 evilG4190 inG1722 yourG4771 heartsG2588? 5WhichG5101 isG1510 easierG2123: to sayG2036, ‘YourG4771 sinsG266 are forgivenG863,’ orG2228 to sayG2036, ‘Get upG1453 andG2532 walkG4043’? 6ButG1161 so thatG2443 you may knowG1492 thatG3754 theG3588 SonG5207 of ManG444 hasG2192 authorityG1849 onG1909 earthG1093 to forgiveG863 sinsG266...” ThenG5119 He saidG3004 to theG3588 paralyticG3885, “Get upG1453, pick upG142 yourG4771 matG2825, andG2532 goG5217 homeG1519G3588G4771G3624.” 7AndG2532 the man got upG1453 and wentG565 homeG1519G3588G846G3624.

WhenG1161 theG3588 crowdsG3793 saw thisG3708, they were filled with aweG5399 andG2532 glorifiedG1392 GodG2316, who had givenG1325 suchG5108 authorityG1849 to menG444.

AsG2532 JesusG2424 went onG3855 from thereG1564, He sawG3708 a manG444 namedG3004 MatthewG3156 sittingG2521 atG1909 theG3588 tax boothG5058. “FollowG190 MeG1473,” He toldG3004 himG846, andG2532 Matthew got upG450 and followedG190 HimG846.
