14“TeacherG1320,” they saidG2064G3004G846, “we knowG1492 thatG3754 You areG1510 honestG227 andG2532 seek favorG3756G3199 fromG4012 no oneG3762. IndeedG1063, You are impartialG3756G991G1519G4383G444 and teachG1321 theG3588 wayG3598 of GodG2316 in accordance withG1909 the truthG225. Is it lawfulG1832 to payG1325 taxesG2778 to CaesarG2541 orG2228 notG3756? Should we payG1325 them orG2228 notG3361?”
15ButG1161 Jesus saw throughG1492 theirG846 hypocrisyG5272 and saidG2036, “WhyG5101 are you testingG3985 MeG1473? BringG5342 MeG1473 a denariusG12201 toG2443 inspectG3708.” 16So they broughtG5342 it, andG2532 He askedG3004 themG846, “WhoseG5101 imageG1504 is thisG3778? AndG2532 whose inscriptionG1923?”
“Caesar’sG2541,” they answeredG2036.
17ThenG1161 JesusG2424 toldG2036 themG846, “GiveG591 to CaesarG2541 what isG3588 Caesar’sG2541, andG2532 to GodG2316 what isG3588 God’sG2316.”
