Isaiah 47:7-15
7You saidH559, ‘I will beH1961 queenH1404 foreverH5769.’ You did notH3808 takeH7760 theseH428 things toH5921 heartH3820H3808 or considerH2142 their outcomeH319.
8So nowH6258 hearH8085 thisH2063,O lover of luxuryH5719 who sits securelyH3427H983,who saysH559 to herselfH3824,‘IH589 am, and there is noneH657 besides meH5750.I will neverH3808H3427 be a widowH490H3808or knowH3045 the loss of childrenH7908.’9TheseH428 twoH8147 things will overtakeH935 you in a momentH7281,in a singleH259 dayH3117:loss of childrenH7908, and widowhoodH489.They will comeH935 upon youH5921 in full measureH8537,in spite of your manyH7230 sorceriesH3785and the potencyH6109 of your spellsH2267H3966.10You were secureH982 in your wickednessH7451;you saidH559, ‘NoH369 one sees meH7200.’Your wisdomH2451 and knowledgeH1847H1931 led you astrayH7725;you toldH559 yourselfH3820, ‘IH589 am, and there is noneH657 besides meH5750.’11But disasterH7451 will comeH935 upon youH5921;you will notH3808 knowH3045 how to charm it awayH7837.A calamityH1943 will befallH5307 youH5921that you will be unableH3808H3201 to ward offH3722.DevastationH7722 will happenH935 to youH5921suddenlyH6597 and unexpectedlyH3808H3045.
12So take your standH5975H4994 with your spellsH2267and with your manyH7230 sorceriesH3785,with whichH834 you have wearied yourselfH3021from your youthH5271.PerhapsH194 you willH3201 succeedH3276;perhapsH194 you will inspire terrorH6206!13You are weariedH3811 by your manyH7230 counselorsH6098;let them come forwardH5975 nowH4994 and save youH3467—your astrologersH1895H8064 who observeH2372 the starsH3556,who monthlyH2320 predictH3045 your fateH834H935H5921.14SurelyH2009 they areH1961 like stubbleH7179;the fireH784 will burn them upH8313.They cannotH3808 deliverH5337 themselvesH5315from the powerH3027 of the flameH3852.There will be noH369 coalsH1513 to warm themH2552or fireH217 to sitH3427 besideH5048.15This is whatH3651 they areH1961 to you—those with whomH834 you have laboredH3021 and tradedH5503 from youthH5271—each oneH376 straysH8582 in his own directionH5676;not one of themH369 can save youH3467.
