Isaiah 44:12-20
12The blacksmithH2796H1270 takes a toolH4621 and laborsH6466 over the coalsH6352; he fashionsH3335 an idol with hammersH4717 and forgesH6466 it with his strongH3581 armsH2220. YetH1571 he grows hungryH7456 and loses his strengthH3581H369; he failsH3808 to drinkH8354 waterH4325 and grows faintH3286.13The woodworkerH2796H6086 extendsH5186 a measuring lineH6957; he marks it outH8388 with a stylusH8279; he shapesH6213 it with chiselsH4741 and outlinesH8388 it with a compassH4230. He fashions itH6213 in the likenessH8403 of manH376, like manH120 in all his gloryH8597, that it may dwellH3427 in a shrineH1004.14He cuts downH3772 cedarsH730 or retrievesH3947 a cypressH86451 or oakH437. He lets it grow strongH553 among the treesH6086 of the forestH3293. He plantsH5193 a laurelH766, and the rainH1653 makes it growH1431.15It servesH1961 as fuelH1197 for manH120. He takesH3947 some of it to warm himselfH2552, andH637 he kindles a fireH5400 and bakesH644 his breadH3899. He alsoH637 fashions itH6466 into a godH410 and worships itH7812; he makesH6213 an idolH6459 and bows downH5456 to it.16He burnsH8313 halfH2677 of it inH1119 the fireH784, and he roastsH6740 meatH1320 onH5921 that halfH2677. He eatsH398 the roastH6748 and is satisfiedH7646. IndeedH637, he warms himselfH2552 and saysH559, “AhH1889! I am warmH2552; I seeH7200 the fireH217.”17From the restH7611 he makesH6213 a godH410, his graven imageH6459. He bows down to itH5456 and worshipsH7812; he praysH6419 to itH413 and saysH559, “Save meH5337, forH3588 youH859 are my godH410.”
