Exodus 36

The People Bring More than Enough

1“So BezalelH1212, OholiabH171, and everyH3605 skilledH2450H3820 personH376 are to carry outH6213 everythingH3605 commandedH6680 by the LORDH3068, who has givenH5414 them skillH2451 and abilityH8394 to knowH3045 how to performH6213 allH3605 the workH4399 of constructingH5656 the sanctuaryH6944.”

2Then MosesH4872 summonedH7121H413 BezalelH1212H413, OholiabH171H413, and everyH3605 skilledH2450H3820 personH376 whomH834H3820 the LORDH3068 had giftedH5414H2451—everyoneH3605 whoseH834 heartH3820 stirred himH5375 to comeH7126H413 and doH6213 the workH4399. 3They receivedH3947 fromH6440 MosesH4872 allH3605 the contributionsH8641 thatH834 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 had broughtH935 to carry outH4399 the serviceH5656 of constructingH6213 the sanctuaryH6944.

Meanwhile, the peopleH1992 continued to bringH935H413H5750 freewill offeringsH5071 morningH1242 after morningH1242, 4so that allH3605 the skilled craftsmenH2450 who were doingH6213 allH3605 the workH4399 on the sanctuaryH6944 leftH935 their workH4399 5and saidH559 toH413 MosesH4872H559, “The peopleH5971 are bringingH935 moreH7235 than enoughH1767 for doingH5656 the workH4399 the LORDH3068 has commandedH6680 usH853 to doH6213.”

6After MosesH4872 had given an orderH6680, they sentH5674 a proclamationH6963 throughout the campH4264H559: “NoH408 manH376 or womanH802 should makeH6213 anythingH4399 elseH5750 as an offeringH8641 for the sanctuaryH6944.” So the peopleH5971 were restrainedH3607 from bringing moreH935, 7since what they already hadH1961 was moreH3498 than enoughH1767 to performH6213 allH3605H4399 the workH4399.

The Ten Curtains for the Tabernacle

(Exodus 26:1–6)

8AllH3605 the skilled craftsmenH2450H3820 among the workmenH6213H4399 madeH6213 the tenH6235 curtainsH3407 for the tabernacleH4908. 11He madeH6213 loopsH3924 of blueH8504 material onH5921 the edgeH8193 of the endH7098 curtainH3407 in the firstH259 setH4225, and alsoH6213H3651H8193 on the endH7020 curtainH3407 in the secondH8145 setH4225. 12He madeH6213 fiftyH2572 loopsH3924 on oneH259 curtainH3407 and fiftyH2572 loopsH3924H6213 on the endH7097 curtainH3407 of the secondH8145 setH4225, so that the loopsH3924 lined upH6901 oppositeH413 oneH259 anotherH259. 13He also madeH6213 fiftyH2572 goldH2091 claspsH7165 to joinH2266 the curtainsH3407 togetherH413H259H7165, so that the tabernacleH4908 wasH1961 a unitH259.

19Additionally, he madeH6213 for the tentH168 a coveringH4372 of ramH352 skinsH5785 dyed redH119, and over thatH4605 a coveringH4372 of fine leatherH5785H8476.3

The Frames and Bases

(Exodus 26:15–30)

20Next, he constructedH6213 uprightH5975 framesH7175 of acaciaH7848 woodH6086 for the tabernacleH4908. 21Each frameH7175 was tenH6235 cubitsH520 longH753 and a cubitH520 and a halfH2677H520 wideH7341H7175.4 22TwoH8147 tenonsH30275 were connectedH7947 toH413 eachH259 otherH259 for eachH259 frameH7175. He madeH6213 allH3605 the framesH7175 of the tabernacleH4908 in this wayH3651.

23He constructedH6213 twentyH6242 framesH7175 for the southH5045H8486 sideH6285 of the tabernacleH4908, 24with fortyH705 silverH3701 basesH134 to put underH8478 the twentyH6242 framesH7175—twoH8147 basesH134 for each frameH7175, oneH259 underH8478 eachH259 tenonH3027.

25For the secondH8145 sideH6763 of the tabernacleH4908, the northH6828 sideH6285, he madeH6213 twentyH6242 framesH7175 26and fortyH705 silverH3701 basesH134—twoH8147 basesH134 underH8478 eachH259 frameH7175.

31He also madeH6213 fiveH2568 crossbarsH1280 of acaciaH7848 woodH6086 for the framesH7175 on oneH259 sideH6763 of the tabernacleH4908, 32fiveH2568 forH7175 those on the otherH8145 sideH6763, and fiveH2568 for thoseH7175 on the rear sideH3411 of the tabernacleH4908, to the westH3220.
