Exodus 39

(Exodus 28:6–14)

1FromH4480 the blueH8504, purpleH713, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144 they madeH6213 specially wovenH8278 garmentsH899 for ministryH8334 in the sanctuaryH6944H6213, as well as the holyH6944 garmentsH899 for AaronH175, just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

2Bezalel madeH62131 the ephodH646 of finely spunH7806 linenH8336 embroidered with goldH2091, and with blueH8504, purpleH713, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144. 3They hammered outH7554 thin sheetsH6341 of goldH2091 and cutH7112 threads from themH6616 to interweaveH6213H8432 with the blueH8504H8432, purpleH713H8432, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144H8432, and fine linenH8336—the workH4639 of a skilled craftsmanH2803. 4They madeH6213 shoulder piecesH3802 for the ephod, which were attachedH2266 atH5921 twoH8147 of its cornersH7098, so it could be fastenedH2266. 5And the skillfully woven waistbandH2805 ofH5921 the ephodH642 was of one piece with the ephodH4480, of the sameH1931 workmanshipH4639—with goldH2091, with blueH8504, purpleH713, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144, and with finely spunH7806 linenH8336, just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

6They mountedH6213 the onyxH7718H5437 stonesH68 in goldH2091 filigree settingsH4865, engravedH6605H6603 like a sealH2368 withH5921 the namesH8034 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. 7Then they fastenedH7760 themH853 onH5921 the shoulder piecesH3802 of the ephodH646 as memorialH2146 stonesH68 for the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

The Breastpiece

(Exodus 28:15–30)

8He madeH6213 the breastpieceH2833 with the same workmanshipH4639H2803 as the ephodH646, with goldH2091, with blueH8504, purpleH713, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144, and with finely spunH7806 linenH8336. 9It was squareH7251H1961 when folded over doubleH3717, a spanH2239 longH753 and a spanH2239 wideH7341H3717.2

10And they mountedH4390 on it fourH702 rowsH2905 of gemstonesH68:3

The firstH259 rowH2905 had a rubyH124, a topazH6357, and an emeraldH1304; 11the secondH8145 rowH2905 had a turquoiseH5306, a sapphireH5601, and a diamondH3095; 12the thirdH7992 rowH2905 had a jacinthH3958, an agateH7618, and an amethystH306; 13and the fourthH7243 rowH2905 had a berylH8658, an onyxH7718, and a jasperH3471.

These stones were mountedH5437 in goldH2091 filigreeH4865 settingsH4396.

14The twelveH8147H6240H5921 stonesH68 corresponded toH5921 the namesH8034H2007 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. EachH376 stone was engravedH6603 like a sealH2368 withH5921 the nameH8034 of one of the twelveH8147H6240 tribesH7626.

15ForH5921 the breastpieceH2833 they madeH6213 braidedH4639 chainsH5688 like cordsH1383H8333 of pureH2889 goldH2091. 16They also madeH6213 twoH8147 goldH2091 filigree settingsH4865 and twoH8147 goldH2091 ringsH2885, and fastenedH5414 the twoH8147 ringsH2885 toH5921 the twoH8147 cornersH7098 of the breastpieceH2833. 17Then they fastenedH5414 the twoH8147 goldH2091 chainsH5688 toH5921 the twoH8147 gold ringsH2885 atH5921 the cornersH7098 of the breastpieceH2833, 18andH853 they fastenedH5414 the otherH8147 endsH7098 of the twoH8147 chainsH5688 toH5921 the twoH8147 filigree settingsH4865, attaching themH5414 toH5921 the shoulder piecesH3802 of the ephodH646 atH413 the frontH4136H6440.

19They madeH6213 twoH8147 more goldH2091 ringsH2885 and attached themH7760 toH5921 the other twoH8147 cornersH7098 of the breastpieceH2833, onH5921H5676 the insideH1004 edgeH8193 next toH413 the ephodH646.

20They madeH6213 twoH8147 additional goldH2091 ringsH2885 and attached themH5414 toH5921 the bottomH4295 of the twoH8147 shoulder piecesH3802 of the ephodH646, on its frontH4136H6440, nearH5980 the seamH4225 just aboveH4605 its woven waistbandH2805H646. 21Then they tiedH7405 the ringsH2885 of the breastpieceH2833 toH413 the ringsH2885 of the ephodH646 with a cordH6616 of blue yarnH8504, so that the breastpieceH2833 wasH1961 aboveH5921 the waistbandH2805 of the ephodH646 and would notH3808 swing outH2118 fromH5921 the ephodH646, just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

Additional Priestly Garments

(Exodus 28:31–43)

22They madeH6213 the robeH4598 of the ephodH646 entirelyH3632 of blue clothH8504, the workH4639 of a weaverH707, 23with an openingH6310 in the centerH8432 of the robeH4598 like thatH6310 of a garmentH8473,4 with a collarH8193 aroundH5439 the openingH6310 so that it would notH3808 tearH7167.

24They madeH6213 pomegranatesH7416 of blueH8504, purpleH713, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144 and finely spun linenH7806 onH5921 the lower hemH7757 of the robeH4598. 25They also madeH6213 bellsH6472 of pureH2889 goldH2091 and attachedH5414 them aroundH5439 the hemH7757 betweenH8432 the pomegranatesH7416, 26alternatingH5439 the bellsH6472 and pomegranatesH7416H6472H5921 around the lower hemH7757 of the robeH4598 to be worn for ministryH8334, just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

27For AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 they madeH6213 tunicsH3801 of fine linenH8336, the workH4639 of a weaverH707, 28as well asH853 the turbanH4701 of fine linenH8336, the ornateH6287 headbandsH4021H8336 andH853 undergarmentsH4370H906 of finely spunH7806 linenH8336, 29and the sashH73 of finely spunH7806 linenH8336, embroidered withH7551 blueH8504, purpleH713, and scarlet yarnH8438H8144, just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

30They also madeH6213 the plateH6731 of the holyH6944 crownH5145 of pureH2889 goldH2091, and they engravedH3789 on itH5921, like an inscriptionH4385H6603 on a sealH2368:

HOLYH6944 TO THE LORDH3068.5

31Then they fastenedH5414 to itH5921 a blueH8504 cordH6616 to mount itH5414 onH5921 the turbanH4701H4605, just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.
