These thingsG3778 took placeG1096 as examplesG5179 to keepG1519 usG1473 from cravingG3361G3588G1510G1938 evil thingsG2556 asG2531 theyG2548 did. 7Do not beG3366G1096 idolatersG1496, asG2531 someG5100 of themG846 were. AsG5618 it is writtenG1125: “TheG3588 peopleG2992 sat downG2523 to eatG5315 andG2532 drinkG4095 andG2532 got upG450 to indulge in revelryG3815.”1 8We should not commit sexual immoralityG3366G4203, asG2531 someG5100 of themG846 did, andG2532 in oneG1520 dayG2250 twenty-threeG1501G5140 thousandG5505 of them diedG4098. 9We should not testG1598 ChristG5547,2 asG2531 someG5100 of themG846 did, andG2532 were killedG622 byG5259 snakesG3789. 10And do not complainG3366G1111, asG2509 someG5100 of themG846 did, andG2532 were killedG622 byG5259 theG3588 destroying angelG3644.3

11NowG1161 these thingsG3778 happenedG4819 to themG1565 as examplesG5179 andG1161 were written downG1125 as warningsG3559 forG4314 usG1473, onG1519 whomG3739 theG3588 fulfillmentG5056 of theG3588 agesG165 has comeG2658. 12SoG5620 theG3588 one who thinksG1380 he is standing firmG2476 should be carefulG991 notG3361 to fallG4098. 13NoG3756 temptationG3986 has seizedG2983 youG4771 exceptG1487G3361 what is common to manG442. AndG1161 GodG2316 is faithfulG4103; He will not letG3756G1439 youG4771 be temptedG3985 beyondG5228 whatG3739 you can bearG1410. ButG235 whenG4862 you are temptedG3986, He will also provideG4160G2532 an escapeG1545, so that you canG1410 stand up underG5297 it.

14ThereforeG1355, myG1473 belovedG27, fleeG5343 fromG575 idolatryG1495.
