2Commandצַו֮tzavH6680the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478,that they giveוְנָתְנ֣וּve.na.te.NuH5414unto the Levitesלַלְוִיִּ֗םlal.vi.YimH3881of the inheritanceמִֽנַּחֲלַ֛תmi.na.cha.LatH5159of their possessionאֲחֻזָּתָ֖ם'a.chu.za.TamH272citiesעָרִ֣ים'a.RimH5892to dwell inלָשָׁ֑בֶתla.Sha.vetH3427;and ye shall giveתִּתְּנ֖וּti.te.NuH5414alsounto the Levitesלַלְוִיִּֽם׃lal.vi.YimH3881suburbsוּמִגְרָ֗שׁu.mig.RashH4054for the citiesלֶֽעָרִים֙le.'a.RimH5892round aboutסְבִיבֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔םse.vi.Vo.tei.HemH5439them.

3And the citiesהֶֽעָרִ֛יםhe.'a.RimH5892shall they have to dwell inלָשָׁ֑בֶתla.Sha.vetH3427;and the suburbsוּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֗םu.mig.re.shei.HemH4054of them shall be for their cattleלִבְהֶמְתָּם֙liv.hem.TamH929,and for their goodsוְלִרְכֻשָׁ֔םve.lir.khu.ShamH7399,and for all their beastsחַיָּתָֽם׃chai.ya.TamH2416.

4And the suburbsוּמִגְרְשֵׁי֙u.mig.re.SheiH4054of the citiesהֶֽעָרִ֔יםhe.'a.RimH5892,which ye shall giveתִּתְּנ֖וּti.te.NuH5414unto the Levitesלַלְוִיִּ֑םlal.vi.YimH3881, shall reachfrom the wallמִקִּ֤ירmi.KirH7023of the cityהָעִיר֙ha.'IrH5892and outwardוָח֔וּצָהva.Chu.tzahH2351a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505cubitsאַמָּ֖ה'a.MahH520round aboutסָבִֽיב׃sa.VivH5439.

6And among the citiesהֶֽעָרִ֗יםhe.'a.RimH5892which ye shall giveתִּתְּנוּ֙ti.te.NuH5414unto the Levitesלַלְוִיִּ֔םlal.vi.YimH3881there shall besixשֵׁשׁ־shesh-H8337citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892for refugeהַמִּקְלָ֔טha.mik.LatH4733,which ye shall appointתִּתְּנ֔וּti.te.NuH5414for the manslayerהָרֹצֵ֑חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523,that he may fleeלָנֻ֥סla.NusH5127thither: and to them ye shall addתִּתְּנ֔וּti.te.NuH5414fortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705and twoוּשְׁתַּ֖יִםu.she.Ta.yimH8147citiesעִֽיר׃'IrH5892.

7Soall the citiesהֶעָרִ֗יםhe.'a.RimH5892which ye shall giveתִּתְּנוּ֙ti.te.NuH5414to the Levitesלַלְוִיִּ֔םlal.vi.YimH3881shall befortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705and eightוּשְׁמֹנֶ֖הu.she.mo.NehH8083citiesעִ֑יר'IrH5892: them shall ye givewith their suburbsמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן׃mig.re.shei.HenH4054.

10Speakדַּבֵּר֙da.BerH1696unto the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֖ve.'a.mar.TaH559unto them, When ye be come overעֹבְרִ֥ים'oe.RimH5674Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןhai.yar.DenH3383into the landאַ֥רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776of Canaanכְּנָֽעַן׃ke.Na.'anH3667;

11Then ye shall appointוְהִקְרִיתֶ֤םve.hik.ri.TemH7136you citiesעָרִ֔ים'a.RimH5892to be citiesעָרֵ֥י'a.ReiH5892of refugeמִקְלָ֖טmik.LatH4733for you; that the slayerרֹצֵ֔חַro.Tze.achH7523may fleeוְנָ֥סve.NasH5127thither, which killethמַכֵּה־ma.keh-H5221any personנֶ֖פֶשׁNe.feshH5315at unawaresבִּשְׁגָגָֽה׃bish.ga.GahH7684.

12And they shall be unto you citiesהֶעָרִ֛יםhe.'a.RimH5892for refugeלְמִקְלָ֖טle.mik.LatH4733from the avengerמִגֹּאֵ֑לmi.go.'ElH1350;that the manslayerהָרֹצֵ֔חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523dieיָמוּת֙ya.MutH4191not, until he standעָמְד֛וֹa.me.DoH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the congregationהָעֵדָ֖הha.'e.DahH5712in judgmentלַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃la.mish.PatH4941.

13And of these citiesוְהֶעָרִ֖יםve.he.'a.RimH5892which ye shall giveתִּתֵּ֑נוּti.Te.nuH5414sixשֵׁשׁ־shesh-H8337citiesעָרֵ֥י'a.ReiH5892shall ye have for refugeמִקְלָ֖טmik.LatH4733.

14Ye shall giveתִּתְּנוּ֙ti.te.NuH5414threeשְׁלֹ֣שׁshe.LoshH7969citiesהֶעָרִ֗יםhe.'a.RimH5892on this sideמֵעֵ֣בֶרme.'E.verH5676Jordanלַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןlai.yar.DenH3383,and threeשְׁלֹ֣שׁshe.LoshH7969citiesהֶֽעָרִ֔יםhe.'a.RimH5892shall ye giveתִּתְּנ֖וּti.te.NuH5414in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Canaanכְּנָ֑עַןke.Na.'anH3667, whichshall be citiesעָרֵ֥י'a.ReiH5892of refugeמִקְלָ֖טmik.LatH4733.

15These sixשֵׁשׁ־shesh-H8337citiesהֶעָרִ֥יםhe.'a.RimH5892shall be a refugeלְמִקְלָ֑טle.mik.LatH4733, bothfor the childrenלִבְנֵ֣יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and for the strangerוְלַגֵּ֤רve.la.GerH1616,and for the sojournerוְלַתּוֹשָׁב֙ve.la.to.ShavH8453amongבְּתוֹכָ֔םbe.to.KhamH8432them: that every one that killethמַכֵּה־ma.keh-H5221any personנֶ֖פֶשׁNe.feshH5315unawaresבִּשְׁגָגָֽה׃bish.ga.GahH7684may fleeלָנ֣וּסla.NusH5127thither.

16And if he smiteהִכָּ֛הוּhi.Ka.huH5221him with an instrumentבִּכְלִ֨יbikh.LiH3627of ironבַרְזֶ֧ל׀var.ZelH1270,so that he dieוַיָּמֹ֖תvai.ya.MotH4191, he isa murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523:the murdererהָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ha.ro.Tze.achH7523shall surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191be put to deathיוּמַ֖תyu.MatH4191.

17And if he smiteהִכָּ֛הוּhi.Ka.huH5221him with throwingיָד֩yadH3027a stoneבְּאֶ֣בֶןbe.'E.venH68,wherewith he may dieיָמ֨וּתya.MutH4191,and he dieוַיָּמֹ֖תvai.ya.MotH4191, he isa murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523:the murdererהָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ha.ro.Tze.achH7523shall surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191be put to deathיוּמַ֖תyu.MatH4191.

18Or ifhe smiteהִכָּ֛הוּhi.Ka.huH5221him with an handיָד֩yadH3027weaponבִּכְלִ֣יbikh.LiH3627of woodעֵֽץ־'etz-H6086,wherewith he may dieיָמ֨וּתya.MutH4191,and he dieוַיָּמֹ֖תvai.ya.MotH4191, he isa murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523:the murdererהָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ha.ro.Tze.achH7523shall surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191be put to deathיוּמַ֖תyu.MatH4191.

19The revengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818himself shall slayיָמִ֖יתya.MitH4191the murdererהָרֹצֵ֑חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523:when he meetethבְּפִגְעוֹ־be.fig.'ov-H6293him, heH1931shall slayיְמִיתֶֽנּוּ׃ye.mi.Te.nuH4191him.

20But if he thrustיֶהְדָּפֶ֑נּוּyeh.da.Fe.nuH1920him of hatredבְּשִׂנְאָ֖הbe.sin.'AhH8135,or hurlהִשְׁלִ֥יךְhish.LikhH7993at him by laying of waitבִּצְדִיָּ֖הbitz.di.YahH6660,that he dieוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191;

21Or in enmityבְאֵיבָ֞הve.'ei.VahH342smiteהִכָּ֤הוּhi.Ka.huH5221him with his handבְיָדוֹ֙ve.ya.DoH3027,that he dieוַיָּמֹ֔תvai.ya.MotH4191:he that smoteהַמַּכֶּ֖הha.ma.KehH5221himshall surelyמֽוֹת־mot-H4191be put to deathיוּמַ֥תyu.MatH4191; for he isa murdererרֹצֵ֣חַֽro.Tze.achH7523:the revengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֗םha.DamH1818shall slayיָמִ֛יתya.MitH4191the murdererהָרֹצֵ֖חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523,when he meetethבְּפִגְעוֹ־be.fig.'ov-H6293him.

22But if he thrustהֲדָפ֑וֹha.da.FoH1920him suddenlyבְּפֶ֥תַעbe.Fe.ta'H6621withoutH3808enmityאֵיבָ֖ה'ei.VahH342,or have castהִשְׁלִ֥יךְhish.LikhH7993upon him any thingכְּלִ֖יke.LiH3627without laying of waitצְדִיָּֽה׃tze.di.YahH6660,

23Or with any stoneאֶ֜בֶן'E.venH68,wherewith a man may dieיָמ֥וּתya.MutH4191,seeingרְא֔וֹתre.'otH7200himnotH3808,and castוַיַּפֵּ֥לvai.ya.PelH5307itupon him, that he dieוַיָּמֹ֑תvai.ya.MotH4191, and wasnot his enemyאוֹיֵ֣ב'o.YevH341,neither soughtמְבַקֵּ֖שׁme.va.KeshH1245his harmרָעָתֽוֹ׃ra.'a.ToH7451:

24Then the congregationהָֽעֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712shall judgeוְשָֽׁפְטוּ֙ve.sha.fe.TuH8199between the slayerהַמַּכֶּ֔הha.ma.KehH5221and the revengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֑םha.DamH1818according to these judgmentsהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֖יםha.mish.pa.TimH4941:

25And the congregationהָעֵדָ֜הha.'e.DahH5712shall deliverוְהִצִּ֨ילוּve.hi.Tzi.luH5337the slayerהָרֹצֵ֗חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523out of the handמִיַּד֮mi.YadH3027of the revengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּם֒ha.DamH1818,and the congregationהָֽעֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712shall restoreוְהֵשִׁ֤יבוּve.he.Shi.vuH7725him to the cityעִ֥יר'irH5892of his refugeמִקְלָט֖וֹmik.la.ToH4733,whither he was fledנָ֣סnasH5127:and he shall abideוְיָ֣שַׁבve.Ya.shavH3427in it unto the deathמוֹת֙mOtH4194of the highהַגָּדֹ֔לha.ga.DolH1419priestהַכֹּהֵ֣ןha.ko.HenH3548,which was anointedמָשַׁ֥חma.ShachH4886with the holyהַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ha.Ko.deshH6944oilבְּשֶׁ֥מֶןbe.She.menH8081.

26But if the slayerהָרֹצֵ֑חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523shall at any timeיָצֹ֥אya.Tzo'H3318comeיֵצֵ֖אye.Tze'H3318without the borderגְּבוּל֙ge.VulH1366of the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of his refugeמִקְלָט֔וֹmik.la.ToH4733,whither he was fledיָנ֖וּסya.NusH5127;

27And the revengerגֹּאֵ֣לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818findוּמָצָ֤אu.ma.Tza'H4672him withoutמִח֕וּץmi.ChutzH2351the bordersלִגְב֖וּלlig.VulH1366of the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of his refugeמִקְלָט֑וֹmik.la.ToH4733,and the revengerגֹּאֵ֤לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּם֙ha.DamH1818killוְרָצַ֞חve.ra.TzachH7523the slayerהָ֣רֹצֵ֔חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523;he shall not be guilty of bloodדָּֽם׃DamH1818:

28Because he should have remainedיֵשֵׁ֔בye.ShevH3427in the cityבְעִ֤ירve.'IrH5892of his refugeמִקְלָטוֹ֙mik.la.ToH4733until the deathמ֖וֹתMotH4194of the highהַגָּדֹ֑לha.ga.DolH1419priestהַכֹּהֵ֣ןha.ko.HenH3548:but afterוְאַחֲרֵ֥יve.'a.cha.ReiH310the deathמוֹת֙mOtH4194of the highהַגָּדֹ֔לha.ga.DolH1419priestהַכֹּהֵ֣ןha.ko.HenH3548the slayerהָרֹצֵ֔חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523shall returnיָשׁוּב֙ya.ShuvH7725into the landאֶ֖רֶץ'E.retzH776of his possessionאֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃'a.chu.za.ToH272.

29So these thingsshall be for a statuteלְחֻקַּ֥תle.chu.KatH2708of judgmentמִשְׁפָּ֖טmish.PatH4941unto you throughout your generationsלְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֑םle.do.ro.tei.KhemH1755in all your dwellingsמוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃mo.she.vo.tei.KhemH4186.

30Whoso killethמַ֨כֵּה־Ma.keh-H5221any personנֶ֔פֶשׁNe.feshH5315,the murdererיִרְצַ֖חyir.TzachH7523shall be put to deathהָרֹצֵ֑חַha.ro.Tze.achH7523by the mouthלְפִ֣יle.FiH6310of witnessesעֵדִ֔ים'e.DimH5707:but oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259witnessוְעֵ֣דve.'EdH5707shall not testifyיַעֲנֶ֥הya.'a.NehH6030against any personבְנֶ֖פֶשׁve.Ne.feshH5315to cause himto dieלָמֽוּת׃la.MutH4191.

31Moreover ye shall takeתִקְח֥וּtik.ChuH3947no satisfactionכֹ֙פֶר֙kho.ferH3724for the lifeלְנֶ֣פֶשׁle.Ne.feshH5315of a murdererרֹצֵ֔חַro.Tze.achH7523, which isguiltyרָשָׁ֖עra.Sha'H7563of deathלָמ֑וּתla.MutH4191:but he shall be surelyמ֖וֹתMotH4191put to deathיוּמָֽת׃yu.MatH4191.

32And ye shall takeתִקְח֣וּtik.ChuH3947no satisfactionכֹ֔פֶרKho.ferH3724for him that is fledלָנ֖וּסla.NusH5127to the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of his refugeמִקְלָט֑וֹmik.la.ToH4733,that he should come againלָשׁוּב֙la.ShuvH7725to dwellלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427in the landבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776,until the deathמ֖וֹתMotH4194of the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548.

33So ye shall not polluteתַחֲנִ֣יפוּta.cha.Ni.fuH2610the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776wherein ye are:for bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818it defilethיַחֲנִ֖יףya.cha.NifH2610the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776:and the landוְלָאָ֣רֶץve.la.'A.retzH776cannot be cleansedיְכֻפַּ֗רye.khu.ParH3722of the bloodלַדָּם֙la.DamH1818that is shedשֻׁפַּךְ־shu.pakh-H8210therein, but by the bloodבְּדַ֥םbe.DamH1818of him that shedשֹׁפְכֽוֹ׃sho.fe.KhoH8210it.

34Defileתְטַמֵּ֣אte.ta.Me'H2930not therefore the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776which ye shall inhabitיֹשְׁבִ֣יםyo.she.VimH3427,whereinבְּתוֹכָ֑הּbe.to.KhahH8432I dwellשֹׁכֵ֣ןsho.KhenH7931:for I the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068dwellשֹׁכֵ֕ןsho.KhenH7931amongבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.
