16At the sight of themלְמַרְאֵ֣ה עֵינֶ֑יהָle.mar.'Eh 'ei.Nei.haH4758 H5869,she lustedוַתַּעְגְּבָ֥הva.ta'.gavhH5689for themעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921and sentוַתִּשְׁלַ֧חva.tish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֛יםmal.'a.KhimH4397to themאֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH413in Chaldeaכַּשְׂדִּֽימָה׃kas.Di.mahH3778.

17Then the Babyloniansבְנֵֽי־ בָבֶל֙ve.nei- va.VelH1121 H894cameוַיָּבֹ֨אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to herאֵלֶ֤יהָ'e.Lei.haH413,to the bedלְמִשְׁכַּ֣בle.mish.KavH4904of loveדֹּדִ֔יםdo.DimH1730,and in their lustבְּתַזְנוּתָ֑םbe.taz.nu.TamH8457they defiledוַיְטַמְּא֥וּvay.ta.me.'UH2930herאוֹתָ֖הּ'o.TahH853.But after she had been defiledוַתִּ֨טְמָא־va.Tit.ma'-H2930by them,sheנַפְשָׁ֖הּnaf.ShahH5315turned awayin disgustוַתֵּ֥קַעva.Te.ka'H3363.

18When Oholibah openlyוַתְּגַל֙va.te.GalH1540prostituted herselfתַּזְנוּתֶ֔יהָtaz.nu.Tei.haH8457and exposedוַתְּגַ֖לva.te.GalH1540אֶת־'et-H853her nakednessעֶרְוָתָ֑הּ'er.va.TahH6172,Iנַפְשִׁי֙naf.ShiH5315turned away from herמֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָme.'a.Lei.haH5921in disgustוַתֵּ֤קַעva.Te.ka'H3363,just asכַּאֲשֶׁ֛רka.'a.SherH834Iנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315had turned awayנָקְעָ֥הna.ke.'AhH5361fromמֵעַ֥לme.'AlH5921her sisterאֲחוֹתָֽהּ׃'a.cho.TahH269.

19Yet she multipliedוַתַּרְבֶּ֖הva.tar.BehH7235אֶת־'et-H853her promiscuityתַּזְנוּתֶ֑יהָtaz.nu.Tei.haH8457,rememberingלִזְכֹּר֙liz.KorH2142אֶת־'et-H853the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of her youthנְעוּרֶ֔יהָne.'u.Rei.haH5271,whenאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834she had prostituted herselfזָנְתָ֖הza.ne.TahH2181in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714

20and lustedוַֽתַּעְגְּבָ֔הva.ta'.ge.VahH5689afterעַ֖ל'alH5921their loversפִּֽלַגְשֵׁיהֶ֑םpi.lag.shei.HemH6370,whoseאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834genitalsבְּשַׂר־be.sar-H1320were like thoseבְּשָׂרָ֔םbe.sa.RamH1320of donkeysחֲמוֹרִים֙cha.mo.RimH2543and whose emissionוְזִרְמַ֥תve.zir.MatH2231was like thatזִרְמָתָֽם׃zir.ma.TamH2231of stallionsסוּסִ֖יםsu.SimH5483.

21So you revisitedוַֽתִּפְקְדִ֔יva.tif.ke.DiH6485אֵ֖ת'etH853the indecencyזִמַּ֣תzi.MatH2154of your youthנְעוּרָ֑יִךְne.'u.Ra.yikhH5271,when the Egyptiansמִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714caressedבַּעְשׂ֤וֹתba'.SotH6213your bosomדַּדַּ֔יִךְda.Da.yikhH1717and pressedלְמַ֖עַןle.Ma.'anH4616your youngנְעוּרָֽיִךְ׃ סne.'u.Ra.yikhH5271breastsשְׁדֵ֥יshe.DeiH7699.

22Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651,Oholibahאָהֳלִיבָ֗ה'o.ho.li.VahH172,this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִה֒ הִנְנִ֨יYah.weh hi.NiH3069 H2005saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559: ‘I will inciteמֵעִ֤ירme.'IrH5782אֶת־'et-H853your loversמְאַהֲבַ֙יִךְ֙me.'a.ha.Va.yikhH157against youעָלַ֔יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921אֵ֛ת'etH853,thoseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834from whomנַפְשֵׁ֖ךְnaf.ShekhH5315you turned away in disgustנָקְעָ֥הna.ke.'AhH5361.And I will bring themוַהֲבֵאתִ֥יםva.ha.ve.TimH935against youעָלַ֖יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921from every sideמִסָּבִֽיב׃mi.sa.VivH5439—

24They will comeוּבָ֣אוּu.Va.'uH935against youעָלַ֡יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921with a hostוּבִקְהַ֣לu.vik.HalH6951of peoplesעַמִּ֔ים'a.MimH5971,with weaponsהֹ֠צֶןHo.tzenH2021,chariotsרֶ֤כֶבRe.khevH7393,and wagonsוְגַלְגַּל֙ve.gal.GalH1534.They will array themselvesיָשִׂ֥ימוּya.Si.muH7760against youעָלַ֖יִךְ'a.La.yikhH5921on every sideסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439with bucklerצִנָּ֤הtzi.NahH6793and shieldוּמָגֵן֙u.ma.GenH4043and helmetוְקוֹבַ֔עve.ko.Va'H6959.I will delegateוְנָתַתִּ֤יve.na.ta.TiH5414judgmentמִשְׁפָּ֔טmish.PatH4941to themלִפְנֵיהֶם֙lif.nei.HemH6440,and they will punish youוּשְׁפָט֖וּךְu.she.fa.TukhH8199according to their own standardsבְּמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶֽם׃be.mish.pe.tei.HemH4941.

25And I will setוְנָתַתִּ֨יve.na.ta.TiH5414My jealous rageקִנְאָתִ֜יkin.'a.TiH7068against you,and they will dealוְעָשׂ֤וּve.'a.SuH6213with youאוֹתָךְ֙'o.toKhH854in furyבְּחֵמָ֔הbe.che.MahH2534.They will cut offיָסִ֔ירוּya.Si.ruH5493your nosesאַפֵּ֤ךְ'a.PekhH639and earsוְאָזְנַ֙יִךְ֙ve.'a.ze.Na.yikhH241,and your survivorsוְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְve.'a.cha.ri.TekhH319will fallתִּפּ֑וֹלti.PolH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719.Theyהֵ֗מָּהHe.mahH1992will seizeיִקָּ֔חוּyi.Ka.chuH3947your sonsבָּנַ֤יִךְba.Na.yikhH1121and daughtersוּבְנוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙u.ve.no.Ta.yikhH1323,and your remnantוְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְve.'a.cha.ri.TekhH319will be consumedתֵּאָכֵ֥לte.'a.KhelH398by fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ba.'EshH784.

26They will strip offוְהִפְשִׁיט֖וּךְve.hif.shi.TukhH6584אֶת־'et-H853your clothesבְּגָדָ֑יִךְbe.ga.Da.yikhH899and takeוְלָקְח֖וּve.la.ke.ChuH3947your fineתִפְאַרְתֵּֽךְ׃tif.'ar.TekhH8597jewelryכְּלֵ֥יke.LeiH3627.

27So I will put an endוְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֤יve.hish.ba.TiH7673toמִמֵּ֔ךְmi.MekhH4480וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853your indecencyזִמָּתֵךְ֙zi.ma.teKhH2154and prostitutionזְנוּתֵ֖ךְze.nu.TekhH2184,which began in the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and you will notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808liftתִשְׂאִ֤יtis.'IH5375your eyesעֵינַ֙יִךְ֙'ei.Na.yikhH5869to themאֲלֵיהֶ֔ם'a.lei.HemH413or rememberתִזְכְּרִי־tiz.ke.ri-H2142Egyptוּמִצְרַ֖יִם לֹ֥אu.mitz.Ra.yim lo'H4714 H3808anymoreעֽוֹד׃ סodH5750.’

31Because you have followedהָלָ֑כְתְּha.La.khetH1980the pathבְּדֶ֥רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870of your sisterאֲחוֹתֵ֖ךְ'a.cho.TekhH269,I will putוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414her cupכוֹסָ֖הּkho.SahH3563into your handבְּיָדֵֽךְ׃ סbe.ya.DekhH3027.’

33You will be filledתִּמָּלֵ֑אִיti.ma.Le.'iH4390with drunkennessשִׁכָּר֥וֹןshi.ka.RonH7943and griefוְיָג֖וֹןve.ya.GonH3015,with a cupכּ֚וֹסKosH3563of devastationשַׁמָּ֣הsha.MahH8047and desolationוּשְׁמָמָ֔הu.she.ma.MahH8077,the cupכּ֖וֹסKosH3563of your sisterאֲחוֹתֵ֥ךְ'a.cho.TekhH269Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃sho.me.RonH8111.
