8But they rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against Meand refusedוְלֹ֤א אָבוּ֙ve.Lo' 'a.VuH3808 H14to listenלִּשְׁמֹ֣עַlish.Mo.a'H8085אֵלַ֔י'e.LaiH413.None of themאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376אֶת־'et-H853לֹ֣אlo'H3808cast awayהִשְׁלִ֔יכוּhish.Li.khuH7993וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853the abominationsשִׁקּוּצֵ֤יshi.ku.TzeiH8251before their eyesעֵֽינֵיהֶם֙'ei.nei.HemH5869,and they did notלֹ֣אlo'H3808forsakeעָזָ֑בוּ'a.Za.vuH5800the idolsגִּלּוּלֵ֥יgi.lu.LeiH1544of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714.So I resolvedוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559to pour outלִשְׁפֹּ֧ךְlish.PokhH8210My wrathחֲמָתִ֣יcha.ma.TiH2534upon themעֲלֵיהֶ֗ם'a.lei.HemH5921and ventלְכַלּ֤וֹתle.kha.LotH3615My angerאַפִּי֙'a.PiH639against theminבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

9But I actedוָאַ֙עַשׂ֙va.'A.'asH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of My nameשְׁמִ֔יshe.MiH8034,that it should notלְבִלְתִּ֥יle.vil.TiH1115be profanedהֵחֵ֛לhe.ChelH2490in the eyesלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471among whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they were livingהֵ֣מָּה בְתוֹכָ֑םHe.mah ve.to.KhamH1992 H8432,in whoseאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834sightלְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔םle.'Ei.nei.HemH5869I had revealed Myselfנוֹדַ֤עְתִּיno.Da'.tiH3045toאֲלֵיהֶם֙'a.lei.HemH413Israelby bringing themלְהוֹצִיאָ֖םle.ho.tzi.'AmH3318out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

10So I brought themוָאֽוֹצִיאֵ֖םva.'o.tzi.'EmH3318out of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and led themוָאֲבִאֵ֖םva.'a.vi.'EmH935intoאֶל־'el-H413the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ha.mid.BarH4057.

11And I gaveוָאֶתֵּ֤ןva.'e.TenH5414themאֶת־'et-H853My statutesחֻקּוֹתַ֔יchu.ko.TaiH2708וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and made knownהוֹדַ֣עְתִּיho.Da'.tiH3045to themאוֹתָ֑ם'o.TamH853My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יmish.pa.TaiH4941—for the manהָאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120whoאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834doesיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213these thingsאוֹתָ֛ם'o.TamH853will liveוָחַ֥יva.ChaiH2421by them.

12I alsoוְגַ֤םve.GamH1571אֶת־'et-H853gaveנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414themMy Sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַי֙sha.be.to.TaiH7676as a signלִהְי֣וֹת לְא֔וֹתlih.Yot le.'otH1961 H226between usH996,so that they would knowלָדַ֕עַתla.Da.'atH3045thatכִּ֛יkiH3588Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068who sanctifies themמְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃me.ka.de.ShamH6942.

14But I actedוָאֶעֱשֶׂ֖הva.'e.'e.SehH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of My nameשְׁמִ֑יshe.MiH8034,so that it would notלְבִלְתִּ֤יle.vil.TiH1115be profanedהֵחֵל֙he.ChelH2490in the eyesלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471in whoseאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869I had brought them outהוֹצֵאתִ֖יםho.tze.TimH3318.

15Moreoverוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571,with an uplifted handיָדִ֛יya.DiH3027Iאֲנִ֗י'a.NiH589sworeנָשָׂ֧אתִיna.Sa.tiH5375to themin the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057that I would notלְבִלְתִּי֩le.vil.TiH1115bringהָבִ֨יאha.Vi'H935themאוֹתָ֜ם'o.TamH853intoאֶל־'el-H413the landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I had givenנָתַ֗תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them—a landflowingזָבַ֤תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָב֙cha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֔שׁu.de.VashH1706,the gloryצְבִ֥י הִ֖יאtze.Vi hi'H6643 H1931of allלְכָל־le.kholH3605landsהָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ha.'a.ra.TzotH776—

17Yet I looked on them with pityוַתָּ֧חָס עֵינִ֛י עֲלֵיהֶ֖םva.Ta.chos 'ei.Ni 'a.lei.HemH2347 H5869 H5921and did not destroy themמִֽשַּׁחֲתָ֑םmi.sha.cha.TamH7843orוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808bringעָשִׂ֧יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213themאוֹתָ֛ם'o.TamH853to an endכָּלָ֖הka.LahH3617in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

19Iאֲנִי֙'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430;walkלֵ֑כוּLe.khuH1980in My statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֖יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,keepשִׁמְר֖וּshim.RuH8104My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֥יmish.pa.TaiH4941,and practice themוַעֲשׂ֥וּva.'a.SuH6213אוֹתָֽם׃'o.TamH853.

20וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853Keep My Sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676holyקַדֵּ֑שׁוּka.De.shuH6942,that they may beוְהָי֤וּve.ha.YuH1961a signלְאוֹת֙le.'OtH226between usH996,so that you may knowלָדַ֕עַתla.Da.'atH3045thatכִּ֛יkiH3588Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.’
