18The magiciansהַחַרְטֻמִּ֧יםha.char.tu.MimH2748triedוַיַּעֲשׂוּ־ כֵ֨ןvai.ya.'a.su- khenH6213 H3651to produceלְהוֹצִ֥יאle.ho.Tzi'H3318H853gnatsהַכִּנִּ֖יםha.ki.NimH3654using their magic artsבְּלָטֵיהֶ֛םbe.la.tei.HemH3909,but they couldיָכֹ֑לוּya.Kho.luH3201notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808.And the gnatsהַכִּנָּ֔םha.ki.NamH3654remainedH1961on manבָּאָדָ֖םba.'a.DamH120and beastוּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃u.va.be.he.MahH929.

19“Thisהִ֑ואhi'H1931is the fingerאֶצְבַּ֥ע'etz.Ba'H676of Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430,”the magiciansהַֽחַרְטֻמִּים֙ha.char.tu.MimH2748saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559toאֶל־'el-H413Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547.But Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547heartלֵב־lev-H3820was hardenedוַיֶּחֱזַ֤קvai.ye.che.ZakH2388,and he would notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808listenשָׁמַ֣עsha.Ma'H8085to themאֲלֵהֶ֔ם'a.le.HemH413,just asכַּאֲשֶׁ֖רka.'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068had saidדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696.

20Then the LORDH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872, “Get up earlyהַשְׁכֵּ֤םhash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ba.Bo.kerH1242,and when PharaohH6547goes outהִנֵּ֖ה יוֹצֵ֣אhi.Neh yo.Tze'H2009 H3318to the waterהַמָּ֑יְמָהha.Ma.ye.mahH4325,standוְהִתְיַצֵּב֙ve.hit.ya.TzevH3320before himH6440and tell himוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559thatאֵלָ֗יו'e.LavH413this is whatכֹּ֚הkohH3541the LORDH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘Let My peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971goשַׁלַּ֥חsha.LachH7971,so that they may worship Meוְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ve.Ya.'av.Du.niH5647.

21Butכִּ֣יkiH3588ifאִם־'im-H518you will notאֵינְךָ֮'ei.ne.KhaH369let My peopleעַמִּי֒ הִנְנִי֩'a.Mi hi.NiH5971 H2005goמְשַׁלֵּ֣חַme.sha.Le.achH7971אֶת־'et-H853,I will sendמַשְׁלִ֨יחַmash.Li.achH7971swarmsהֶעָרֹ֑בhe.'a.RoH6157of flies upon youand your officialsוּבַעֲבָדֶ֧יךָu.va.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650and your peopleוּֽבְעַמְּךָ֛u.ve.'a.me.KhaH5971and your housesוּבְבָתֶּ֖יךָu.ve.va.Tei.khaH1004אֶת־'et-H853.The housesבָּתֵּ֤יba.TeiH1004of the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4713אֶת־'et-H853and evenוְגַ֥םve.GamH1571the groundהָאֲדָמָ֖הha.'a.da.MahH127אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834where theyהֵ֥םhemH1992standwill be fullוּמָ֨לְא֜וּu.Mal.'UH4390of fliesהֶ֣עָרֹ֔ב עָלֶֽיהָ׃he.'a.Ro 'a.Lei.haH6157 H5921.

22But on thatהַה֜וּאha.Hu'H1931H853dayבַיּ֨וֹםvai.YomH3117I will give special treatmentוְהִפְלֵיתִי֩ve.hif.lei.TiH6395to the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Goshenגֹּ֗שֶׁןGo.shenH1657,whereאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834My peopleעַמִּי֙'a.MiH5971liveעֹמֵ֣ד עָלֶ֔יהָ'o.Med 'a.Lei.haH5975 H5921;noלְבִלְתִּ֥יle.vil.TiH1115swarmsעָרֹ֑בa.RoH6157of flieswill beהֱיֽוֹת־he.yot-H1961foundthereשָׁ֖םshamH8033.In this wayלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616you will knowתֵּדַ֔עte.Da'H3045thatH3588Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589,the LORDH3068,am inבְּקֶ֥רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

23I will makeוְשַׂמְתִּ֣יve.sam.TiH7760a distinctionפְדֻ֔תfe.DutH6304betweenבֵּ֥יןbeinH996My peopleעַמִּ֖י וּבֵ֣ין'a.Mi u.VeinH5971 H996and your peopleעַמֶּ֑ךָ'a.Me.khaH5971.Thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088signהָאֹ֥תha.'OtH226will take placeיִהְיֶ֖הyih.YehH1961tomorrowלְמָחָ֥רle.ma.CharH4279.’”
