20So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֜הmo.ShehH4872אֶת־'et-H853tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947his wifeאִשְׁתּ֣וֹ'ish.ToH802וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and sonsבָּנָ֗יוba.NavH1121,put themוַיַּרְכִּבֵם֙vai.yar.ki.VemH7392onעַֽל־'al-H5921a donkeyהַחֲמֹ֔רha.cha.MorH2543,and headed backוַיָּ֖שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725to Egyptאַ֣רְצָה מִצְרָ֑יִם'Ar.tzah mitz.Ra.yimH776 H4714.Andמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872heאֶת־'et-H853tookוַיִּקַּ֥חvai.yi.KachH3947the staffמַטֵּ֥הma.TehH4294of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430in his handבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027.

21The LORDיְהוָה֮ אֶל־Yah.weh 'el-H3068 H413instructedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Mosesמֹשֶׁה֒mo.ShehH4872, “When you goבְּלֶכְתְּךָ֙be.lekh.te.KhaH1980backלָשׁ֣וּבla.ShuvH7725to Egyptמִצְרַ֔יְמָהmitz.Ray.mahH4714,see thatרְאֵ֗הre.'EhH7200you performוַעֲשִׂיתָ֖םva.'a.si.TamH6213beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Pharaohפַרְעֹ֑הfar.'OhH6547allכָּל־kol-H3605the wondersהַמֹּֽפְתִים֙ha.mo.fe.TimH4159thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I have putשַׂ֣מְתִּיSam.tiH7760within your powerבְיָדֶ֔ךָve.ya.De.khaH3027.But Iוַאֲנִי֙va.'a.NiH589will hardenאֲחַזֵּ֣ק'a.cha.ZekH2388אֶת־'et-H853his heartלִבּ֔וֹli.BoH3820so that he will notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808let the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971goיְשַׁלַּ֖חye.sha.LachH7971אֶת־'et-H853.

22Then tellוְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֶל־ve.'a.mar.Ta 'el-H559 H413Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547thatthis is whatכֹּ֚הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478is My firstbornבְכֹרִ֖יve.kho.RiH1060sonבְּנִ֥יbe.NiH1121,

23and I told youוָאֹמַ֣ר אֵלֶ֗יךָva.'o.Mar 'e.Lei.khaH559 H413to let My sonבְּנִי֙be.NiH1121goשַׁלַּ֤חsha.LachH7971אֶת־'et-H853so that he may worship Meוְיַֽעַבְדֵ֔נִיve.ya.'av.De.niH5647.But since you have refusedוַתְּמָאֵ֖ןva.te.ma.'EnH3985to let him goלְשַׁלְּח֑וֹle.sha.le.ChoH7971,beholdהִנֵּה֙hi.NehH2009,Iאָנֹכִ֣י'a.no.KhiH595will killהֹרֵ֔גho.RegH2026אֶת־'et-H853your firstbornבְּכֹרֶֽךָ׃be.kho.Re.khaH1060sonבִּנְךָ֖bin.KhaH1121!’”

24Now at a lodging placeבַּמָּל֑וֹןba.ma.LonH4411along the wayבַדֶּ֖רֶךְva.De.rekhH1870,the LORDוַיְהִ֥י יְהוָ֔הvay.Hi Yah.wehH1961 H3068metוַיִּפְגְּשֵׁ֣הוּvai.yif.ge.She.huH6298Mosesand was aboutוַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁvay.va.KeshH1245to kill himהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃ha.mi.ToH4191.

25But Zipporahצִפֹּרָ֜הtzi.po.RahH6855tookוַתִּקַּ֨חva.ti.KachH3947a flint knifeצֹ֗רTzorH6864,cut offוַתִּכְרֹת֙va.tikh.RotH3772אֶת־'et-H853her son’sבְּנָ֔הּbe.NahH1121foreskinעָרְלַ֣ת'a.re.LatH6190,and touched itוַתַּגַּ֖עva.ta.Ga'H5060to Moses’ feetלְרַגְלָ֑יוle.rag.LavH7272. “Surelyכִּ֧יkiH3588youאַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH859area bridegroomחֲתַן־cha.tan-H2860of bloodדָּמִ֛יםda.MimH1818to me,”she saidוַתֹּ֕אמֶרva.To.merH559.

26So the LORD let him aloneוַיִּ֖רֶף מִמֶּ֑נּוּvai.Yi.ref mi.Me.nuH7503 H4480. (Whenאָ֚ז'azH227she saidאָֽמְרָ֔ה'a.me.RahH559, “bridegroomחֲתַ֥ןcha.TanH2860of bloodדָּמִ֖יםda.MimH1818,”she was referring to the circumcisionלַמּוּלֹֽת׃ פla.mu.LotH4139.)
