Ephesians 4
1I thereforeG3767, the prisonerG1198 in the LordG2962, beseech you to walkG4043 worthilyG516 of the callingG2821 wherewith ye were calledG2564, 2with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing oneG240 another in loveG26; 3giving diligence to keepG5083 the unity of the SpiritG4151 in the bondG4886 of peaceG1515. 4There is oneG1520 bodyG4983, and oneG1520 SpiritG4151, evenG2532 as alsoG2532 ye were calledG2564 in oneG1520 hopeG1680 of your callingG2821; 5oneG1520 LordG2962, oneG1520 faithG4102, oneG1520 baptismG908, 6oneG1520 GodG2316 and FatherG3962 of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all. 7But unto each oneG1520 of us was the graceG5485 givenG1325 accordingG2596 to the measureG3358 of the giftG1431 of ChristG5547. 8Wherefore he saith,
9(NowG1161 this, He ascendedG305, what isG1510 it but that he alsoG2532 descendedG2597 into the lower partsG3313 of the earthG1093? 10He that descendedG2597 isG1510 the sameG846 alsoG2532 that ascendedG305 far above all the heavensG3772, that he might fillG4137 all thingsG3956.) 11And he gaveG1325 some to be apostlesG652; and some, prophetsG4396; and some, evangelistsG2099; and some, pastors and teachersG1320; 12for the perfecting of the saintsG40, unto the workG2041 of ministering, unto the buildingG3619 up of the bodyG4983 of ChristG5547: 13till we all attainG2658 unto the unity of the faithG4102, and of the knowledgeG1922 of the SonG5207 of GodG2316, unto a fullgrown manG435, unto the measureG3358 of the statureG2244 of the fulness of ChristG5547: 14that we may beG1510 noG3371 longerG3371 childrenG3516, tossed to and fro and carried about with every windG417 of doctrineG1319, by the sleight of menG444, in craftinessG3834, after the wiles of errorG4106; 15but speakingG226 truthG226 in loveG26, may growG837 up in all thingsG3956 into him, who isG1510 the headG2776, even ChristG5547; 16from whom all the bodyG4983 fitly framed and knitG4822 togetherG4822 through that which every joint supplieth, accordingG2596 to the working in due measureG3358 of each several partG3313, maketh the increase of the bodyG4983 unto the buildingG3619 up of itself in loveG26.
17This I sayG3004 thereforeG3767, and testifyG3143 in the LordG2962, that ye noG3371 longerG3371 walkG4043 as the GentilesG1484 alsoG2532 walkG4043, in the vanity of their mindG3563, 18beingG1510 darkenedG4656 in their understandingG1271, alienated from the lifeG2222 of GodG2316, because of the ignoranceG52 that isG1510 in them, because of the hardening of their heartG2588; 19who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20But ye did not soG3779 learnG3129 ChristG5547; 21if so beG1510 that ye heardG191 him, and wereG1510 taughtG1321 in him, evenG2532 as truthG225 isG1510 in JesusG2424: 22that ye putG659 away, as concerning your formerG4387 mannerG391 of lifeG391, the oldG3820 manG444, that waxeth corrupt after the lustsG1939 of deceitG539; 23and that ye be renewed in the spiritG4151 of your mindG3563, 24and putG1746 on the newG2537 manG444, that after GodG2316 hath been created in righteousnessG1343 and holinessG3742 of truthG225.
25Wherefore, puttingG659 away falsehoodG5579, speakG2980 ye truthG225 each oneG240 with his neighbor: for we areG1510 membersG3196 oneG240 of another. 26Be ye angryG3710, and sinG264 not: let not the sunG2246 go down upon your wrath: 27neither giveG1325 placeG5117 to the devilG1228. 28Let him that stoleG2813 stealG2813 no moreG3123: but ratherG3123 let him laborG2872, working with his handsG5495 the thingG18 that is goodG18, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath needG5532. 29Let no corrupt speechG3056 proceed out of your mouthG4750, but such as is goodG18 for edifying as the needG5532 may be, that it may giveG1325 graceG5485 to them that hearG191. 30And grieveG3076 not the HolyG40 SpiritG4151 of GodG2316, in whom ye were sealedG4972 unto the dayG2250 of redemptionG629. 31Let all bitternessG4088, and wrathG3709, and angerG3709, and clamorG2906, and railing, be put awayG142 from you, with all maliceG2549: 32and be ye kindG5543 oneG240 to another, tenderhearted, forgivingG5483 each other, evenG2532 as GodG2316 alsoG2532 in ChristG5547 forgaveG5483 you.
