15But thou didsttrustוַתִּבְטְחִ֣יva.tiv.te.ChiH982in thybeautyבְיָפְיֵ֔ךְve.ya.fe.YekhH3308, and playedst theharlotוַתִּזְנִ֖יva.tiz.NiH2181becauseH5921of thyrenownשְׁמֵ֑ךְshe.MekhH8034, and pouredstoutוַתִּשְׁפְּכִ֧יva.tish.pe.KhiH8210thy whoredoms oneveryכָּל־kol-H3605one thatpassedעוֹבֵ֖רo.VerH5674by; his it was.

16And thou didsttakeוַתִּקְחִ֣יva.tik.ChiH3947of thygarmentsמִבְּגָדַ֗יִךְmi.be.ga.Da.yikhH899, and madest for theehighבָּמ֣וֹתba.MotH1116placesH1116decked with divers colours, and playedst theharlotוַתִּזְנִ֖יva.tiz.NiH2181uponעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם'a.lei.HemH5921them: the like things shallnotלֹ֥אlo'H3808comeבָא֖וֹתva.'otH935,neitherוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808shall it besoוַתַּֽעֲשִׂי־va.ta.'a.si-H6213.

17Thou didst alsotakeוַתִּקְחִ֞יva.tik.ChiH3947thy fairjewelsכְּלֵ֣יke.LeiH3627of mygoldמִזְּהָבִ֤יmi.ze.ha.ViH2091and of mysilverוּמִכַּסְפִּי֙u.mi.kas.PiH3701,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I hadgivenנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414thee, and madest for theeimagesצַלְמֵ֣יtzal.MeiH6754ofmenזָכָ֑רza.KharH2145, and didstplayH2181theharlotH2181with them;

18and thou tookest thy broideredgarmentsבִּגְדֵ֥יbig.DeiH899, and coveredst them, and didstsetנָתַ֖תְּna.ta.tiH5414mineoilוְשַׁמְנִי֙ve.sham.NiH8081and mineincenseוּקְטָרְתִּ֔יu.ke.ta.re.TiH7004beforeלִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃lif.nei.HemH6440them.

Were thy whoredoms asmallH4592matterH4592,

24that thou hastbuiltוַתִּבְנִי־va.tiv.ni-H1129unto thee an eminentplaceרָמָ֖הra.MahH7413, and hastmadeוַתַּעֲשִׂי־va.ta.'a.si-H6213thee a loftyplaceH7413ineveryבְּכָל־be.kholH3605streetרְחֽוֹב׃re.ChovH7339.

25Thou hastbuiltבָּנִית֙ba.NitH1129thy loftyplaceרָֽמָתֵ֔ךְra.ma.TekhH7413ateveryH3605headרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of thewayדֶּ֗רֶךְDe.rekhH1870, and hastmadeH3605thybeautyיָפְיֵ֔ךְya.fe.YekhH3308an abomination, and hast opened thyfeetרַגְלַ֖יִךְrag.La.yikhH7272toeveryH3605one thatpassedעוֹבֵ֑רo.VerH5674by, andmultipliedוַתַּרְבִּ֖יva.tar.BiH7235thy whoredom.

26Thou hast also committed fornication with theEgyptiansמִצְרַ֛יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714, thy neighbours, great offleshבָשָׂ֑רva.SarH1320; and hastmultipliedוַתַּרְבִּ֥יva.tar.BiH7235thy whoredom, toprovokeלְהַכְעִיסֵֽנִי׃le.hakh.'i.Se.niH3707meאֶל־'el-H413toangerH3707.

27Beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009therefore, I havestretchedנָטִ֤יתִיna.Ti.tiH5186outH5186myhandיָדִי֙ya.DiH3027over thee, and havediminishedוָאֶגְרַ֖עva.'eg.Ra'H1639thine ordinaryfoodחֻקֵּ֑ךְchu.KekhH2706, anddeliveredוָאֶתְּנֵ֞ךְva.'e.te.NekhH5414thee unto the will of them thathateשֹׂנְאוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙so.ne.'o.Ta.yikhH8130thee, thedaughtersבְּנ֣וֹתbe.NotH1323of thePhilistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430, which areashamedהַנִּכְלָמ֖וֹתha.nikh.la.MotH3637of thylewdזִמָּֽה׃zi.MahH2154wayמִדַּרְכֵּ֥ךְmi.dar.KekhH1870.

28Thou hastplayedH2181theharlotH2181also with the Assyrians,becauseאֶל־'el-H413thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hastplayedH2181theharlotH2181with them, and yet thou wastnotלֹ֥אlo'H3808satisfiedשָׂבָֽעַתְּ׃sa.Va.'atH7646.

29Thou hastmoreoverוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571multipliedוַתַּרְבִּ֧יva.tar.BiH7235thy whoredom in thelandאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776ofCanaanכְּנַ֖עַןke.Na.'anH3667, untoChaldeaכַּשְׂדִּ֑ימָהkas.Di.mahH3778; and yet thou wastnotלֹ֥אlo'H3808satisfiedשָׂבָֽעַתְּ׃sa.Va.'atH7646herewith.

30Howמָ֤הmahH4100weakH3605is thineheartלִבָּתֵ֔ךְli.ba.TekhH3826, saith theLordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODH136, seeing thou doestallH3605theseאֵ֔לֶּה'E.lehH428things, theworkמַעֲשֵׂ֥הma.'a.SehH4639of an imperious whorishwomanאִשָּֽׁה־'i.shah-H802;

31in that thou buildest thine eminentplaceH1961in theheadבְּרֹ֣אשׁbe.RoshH7218ofeveryכָּל־kol-H3605wayH1870, and makest thy loftyplaceH1961ineveryבְּכָל־be.kholH3605streetH1870; and hastnotוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808been as anharlotכַּזּוֹנָ֖הka.zo.NahH2181, in that thou scornesthireאֶתְנָֽן׃'et.NanH868.

32Awifeהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802that committethadulteryהַמְּנָאָ֑פֶתha.me.na.'A.fetH5003! that takethstrangersזָרִֽים׃za.RimH2114insteadתַּ֣חַתTa.chatH8478ofherתִּקַּ֖חti.KachH3947husbandאִישָׁ֔הּ'i.ShahH376!

33TheygiveH5414giftsH5083toallH3605harlotsזֹנ֖וֹתzo.NotH2181: but thou gavest thygiftsH5083toallH3605thyloversמְאַֽהֲבַ֔יִךְme.'a.ha.Va.yikhH157, and bribest them, that they maycomeלָב֥וֹאla.Vo'H935unto thee oneveryH3605sideמִסָּבִ֖יבmi.sa.VivH5439for thy whoredoms.

34And the contrary is in thee from otherwomenהַנָּשִׁים֙ha.na.ShimH802in thy whoredoms, in thatnoneלֹ֣אlo'H3808followeth thee tocommitוּבְתִתֵּ֣ךְu.ve.ti.TekhH5414whoredom: and whereas thou givesthireאֶתְנָ֗ן'et.NanH868, andnoלֹ֥אlo'H3808hireוְאֶתְנַ֛ןve.'et.NanH868isgivenנִתַּן־ni.tan-H5414unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
