3And thekingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428spake untoAshpenazלְאַשְׁפְּנַ֖זle.'ash.pe.NazH828themasterוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559of hiseunuchsסָרִיסָ֑יוsa.ri.SavH5631, that he shouldbringלְהָבִ֞יאle.ha.Vi'H935in certain of thechildrenמִבְּנֵ֧יmi.be.NeiH1121ofIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478, even of theseedוּמִזֶּ֥רַעu.mi.Ze.ra'H2233royalH4428and of thenoblesהַֽפַּרְתְּמִֽים׃Ha.par.te.MimH6579;

7And theprinceשַׂ֥רsarH8269of theeunuchsהַסָּרִיסִ֖יםha.sa.ri.SimH5631gaveוַיָּ֧שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760namesH8034unto them: untoDanielלְדָֽנִיֵּ֜אלle.da.ni.YelH1840hegaveוַיָּ֨שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760thenameH8034ofBelteshazzarבֵּ֣לְטְשַׁאצַּ֗רbe.le.te.sha.TzarH1095; and toHananiahוְלַֽחֲנַנְיָה֙ve.la.cha.nan.YahH2608, ofShadrachשַׁדְרַ֔ךְshad.RakhH7714; and toMishaelוּלְמִֽישָׁאֵ֣לu.le.mi.sha.'ElH4332, ofMeshachמֵישַׁ֔ךְmei.ShakhH4335; and toAzariahוְלַעֲזַרְיָ֖הve.la.'a.zar.YahH5838, ofAbed-negoH5664.

8ButDanielדָּנִיֵּאל֙da.ni.yeLH1840purposed in hisheartלִבּ֔וֹli.BoH3820that he wouldnotH3808defileיִתְגָּאַ֛לyit.ga.'AlH1351himselfH3820with theking’sהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428meat,norH3808with thewineוּבְיֵ֣יןu.ve.YeinH3196whichH834hedrankמִשְׁתָּ֑יוmish.TavH4960: therefore he requested of theprinceמִשַּׂ֣רmi.SarH8269of theeunuchsהַסָּרִיסִ֔יםha.sa.ri.SimH5631that he mightnotH3808defileיִתְגָּאָֽל׃yit.ga.'AlH1351himselfH3820.
