1 Thessalonians 2:6-20

6norG3777 did we 1seekG2212 honorG1391 from peopleG444, eitherG3777 from you orG3777 from othersG243, though 2we could have 3assertedG1510G922 our authorityG922 as 4apostlesG652 of ChristG5547. 7But we 5provedG1096 to be 67gentleG2261 8amongG1722G3319 you. 9As a nursingG5162 mother 10tenderlyG2282 caresG2282 forG2282 her ownG1438 childrenG5043, 8in the sameG3779 wayG3779 we hadG3655 aG3655 fondG3655 affectionG3655 for you and were delightedG2106 to 11shareG3330 with you not onlyG3440 the 12gospelG2098 of GodG2316, but alsoG2532 our ownG1438 13livesG5590, becauseG1360 you had becomeG1096 14veryG27 dearG27 to us.

9For you recallG3421, brothersG80 and sisters, our 15laborG2873 and hardshipG3449: it was by 16workingG2038 nightG3571 and dayG2250 soG4314 as not to beG1912 aG1912 17burdenG1912 toG1912 anyG5100 of you, that we proclaimedG2784 to you the 18gospelG2098 of GodG2316. 10You are witnessesG3144, and so is 19GodG2316, of 20howG5613 devoutlyG3743 and rightlyG1346 and blamelesslyG274 we 21behavedG1096 toward you 22believersG4100; 11justG2509 asG2509 you knowG3609 howG5613 we were 23exhortingG3870 and encouragingG3888 and 24imploringG3143 eachG1538 oneG1520 of you as 25a fatherG3962 would his ownG1438 childrenG5043, 12soG1519 thatG1519 you would 26walkG4043 inG516 aG516 mannerG516 worthyG516 of the GodG2316 who 27callsG2564 you into His ownG1438 kingdomG932 and 28gloryG1391.

13For thisG3778 reasonG1223 we alsoG2532 constantlyG89 29thankG2168 GodG2316 that when you receivedG3880 the 30wordG3056 of GodG2316 whichG3739 you heardG191 from us, you acceptedG1209 it 31not as the wordG3056 of mere menG444, but asG2531 whatG2531 it reallyG230 is, the wordG3056 of GodG2316, 32whichG3739 alsoG2532 isG1754 atG1754 workG1754 in you who believeG4100. 14For you, brothersG80 and sisters, becameG1096 33imitatorsG3402 of 34the churchesG1577 of GodG2316 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424 that are 35in JudeaG2449, for 36you alsoG2532 enduredG3958 the sameG846 sufferingsG3958 atG5259 the handsG5259 of your ownG2398 countrymenG4853, 37evenG2531 as they did from the JewsG2453, 1538who bothG2532 killedG615 the LordG2962 JesusG2424 and 39the prophetsG4396, and 40droveG1559 us outG1559. 41They are not pleasingG700 to GodG2316, 42but hostileG1727 to allG3956 peopleG444, 1643hinderingG2967 us from speakingG2980 to the GentilesG1484 44soG2443 thatG2443 they may be savedG4982; with the resultG1519 that they alwaysG3842 4546reachG378 theG378 limitG378 of their sinsG266. But 47wrathG3709 has comeG5348 upon them 48fullyG5056.

17But we, brothersG80 and sisters, having been orphanedG642 from you by absence for a 49shortG2540G5610 whileG5610--50in 51personG4383, not in 52spiritG2588--were allG4056 theG4056 moreG4056 eagerG4704 with greatG4183 desireG1939 53to seeG3708 your faceG4383. 1854For 55we wantedG2309 to comeG2064 to you--I, PaulG3972, 5657moreG2532G1364 thanG2532 onceG530--and 58SatanG4567 59hinderedG1465 us. 19For whoG5101 is our hopeG1680, orG2228 60joyG5479 orG2228 crownG4735 of prideG2746, inG1715 theG1715 presenceG1715 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 at His 6162comingG3952? Or is it not indeedG2532 you? 20For you are 63our gloryG1391 and joyG5479.
