1Now the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “Cutפְּסָל־pe.sol-H6458outH6458for yourselftwoשְׁנֵֽי־she.nei-H8147stoneאֲבָנִ֖ים'a.va.NimH68tabletsלֻחֹ֥תlu.ChotH3871like the formerכָּרִאשֹׁנִ֑יםka.ri.sho.NimH7223onesH7223, andI will writeוְכָתַבְתִּי֙ve.kha.tav.TiH3789on the tabletsהַלֻּחֹ֔תha.lu.ChotH3871the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֔יםha.de.va.RimH1697that were on the formerהָרִאשֹׁנִ֖יםha.ri.sho.NimH7223tabletsהַלֻּחֹ֥תha.lu.ChotH3871whichH834you smashedשִׁבַּֽרְתָּ׃shi.Bar.taH7665.

2So be readyנָכ֖וֹןna.KhonH3559by morningלַבֹּ֑קֶרla.Bo.kerH1242,and comeH5927upH5927in the morningבַבֹּ֙קֶר֙va.Bo.kerH1242toMountהַ֣רharH2022Sinaiסִינַ֔יsi.NaiH5514, andpresentוְנִצַּבְתָּ֥ve.ni.tzav.TaH5324yourself thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033to Me on the topרֹ֥אשׁroshH7218of the mountainהָהָֽר׃ha.HarH2022.

3Andnoלֹֽא־lo'-H3808oneוְאִישׁ֙ve.'IshH376is to comeH5927upH5927with you, norוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571 H408let anyoneאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376be seenיֵרָ֖אye.Ra'H7200anywhereבְּכָל־be.kholH3605on the mountainהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022;evenגַּם־gam-H1571the flocksהַצֹּ֤אןha.TzonH6629and the herdsוְהַבָּקָר֙ve.ha.ba.KarH1241are not to grazeיִרְע֔וּyir.'UH7462in frontמ֖וּלmulH4136of that mountainהָהָ֥רha.HarH2022.”

4So he cutוַיִּפְסֹ֡לvai.yif.SolH6458outH6458twoשְׁנֵֽי־she.nei-H8147stoneאֲבָנִ֜ים'a.va.NimH68tabletsלֻחֹ֨תlu.ChotH3871like the formerכָּרִאשֹׁנִ֗יםka.ri.sho.NimH7223onesH7223,and Mosesמֹשֶׁ֤הmo.ShehH4872gotH7925upH7925earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַבֹּ֙קֶר֙va.Bo.kerH1242and wentH5927upH5927to Mountהַ֣רharH2022Sinaiסִינַ֔יsi.NaiH5514,as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680him, and he tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947thetwoשְׁנֵ֖יshe.NeiH8147stoneאֲבָנִֽים׃'a.va.NimH68tabletsלֻחֹ֥תlu.ChotH3871in his handבְּיָד֔וֹbe.ya.DoH3027.

5Andthe Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068descendedוַיֵּ֤רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381in the cloudבֶּֽעָנָ֔ןbe.'a.NanH6051and stoodוַיִּתְיַצֵּ֥בvai.yit.ya.TzevH3320thereשָׁ֑םShamH8033with him as hecalledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121upon the nameבְשֵׁ֖םve.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

6Then the Lordיְהוָ֥ה׀Yah.wehH3068passedH5674byH5674in frontפָּנָיו֮pa.NavH6440of him and proclaimedוַיִּקְרָא֒vai.yik.Ra'H7121, “The Lordיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068,the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068Godאֵ֥ל'elH410,compassionateרַח֖וּםra.ChumH7349and mercifulוְחַנּ֑וּןve.cha.NunH2587,slowאֶ֥רֶךְ'E.rekhH750to angerאַפַּ֖יִם'a.Pa.yimH639,and aboundingוְרַב־ve.rav-H7227in faithfulnessחֶ֥סֶדChe.sedH2617andtruthוֶאֱמֶֽת׀ve.'e.MetH571;

7whokeepsנֹצֵ֥רno.TzerH5341faithfulnessחֶ֙סֶד֙che.sedH2617for thousandsלָאֲלָפִ֔יםla.'a.la.FimH505,who forgivesנֹשֵׂ֥אno.Se'H5375wrongdoingעָוֹ֛ן'a.VonH5771,violationוָפֶ֖שַׁעva.Fe.sha'H6588of His Law,and sinוְחַטָּאָ֑הve.cha.ta.'AhH2403; yet Hewill byH5352noלֹ֣אlo'H3808meansH5352leaveוְנַקֵּה֙ve.na.KehH5352the guiltyunpunishedיְנַקֶּ֔הye.na.KehH5352,inflictingפֹּקֵ֣ד׀po.KedH6485thepunishmentעֲוֹ֣ן'a.VonH5771of fathersאָב֗וֹת'a.VotH1on the childrenH1121and on the grandchildrenH1121to the thirdשִׁלֵּשִׁ֖יםshi.le.ShimH8029and fourthרִבֵּעִֽים׃ri.be.'ImH7256generations.”

8And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872hurriedוַיְמַהֵ֖רvay.ma.HerH4116to bowH6915lowוַיִּקֹּ֥דvai.yi.KodH6915towardH413the groundאַ֖רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776and worshipH2331.

9Then he saidוַיֹּ֡אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Ifאִם־'im-H518in anyH4994wayH4994I have foundמָצָ֨אתִיma.Tza.tiH4672favorחֵ֤ןchenH2580in Your sightבְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙be.'ei.Nei.khaH5869,Lordאֲדֹנָ֔י'a.do.NaiH136,pleaseH4994may the Lordאֲדֹנָ֖י'a.do.NaiH136goיֵֽלֶךְ־ye.lekh-H1980along in our midstבְּקִרְבֵּ֑נוּbe.kir.Be.nuH7130,evenH3588thoughH3588the peopleעַם־'am-H5971are so obstinateקְשֵׁה־ עֹ֙רֶף֙ke.sheh- 'o.refH7186 H6203, andpardonוְסָלַחְתָּ֛ve.sa.lach.TaH5545our wrongdoingלַעֲוֹנֵ֥נוּla.'a.vo.Ne.nuH5771and our sinוּלְחַטָּאתֵ֖נוּu.le.cha.ta.Te.nuH2403, andtakeוּנְחַלְתָּֽנוּ׃u.ne.chal.Ta.nuH5157us asH5157Your ownpossessionH5157.”

10ThenGod saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,I am going to makeכֹּרֵ֣תko.RetH3772a covenantבְּרִית֒be.RitH1285.Beforeנֶ֤גֶדNe.gedH5048allכָּֽל־kal-H3605your peopleעַמְּךָ֙'a.me.KhaH5971I will performאֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה'e.'e.SehH6213miraclesנִפְלָאֹ֔תnif.la.'OtH6381whichH834have not beenproducedנִבְרְא֥וּniv.re.'UH1254in allבְכָל־ve.khol-H3605the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776norלֹֽא־lo'-H3808among anyוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471;and allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָ֠עָםHa.'omH5971amongבְקִרְבּ֜וֹve.kir.BoH7130whomH834you live will seeוְרָאָ֣הve.ra.'AhH7200the workingמַעֲשֵׂ֤הma.'a.SehH4639of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,for it is a fearfulH3372thingH3372that I am going to performעֹשֶׂ֥ה'o.SehH6213with you.

11“Be sure to complyH8104withH8104whatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I am commandingמְצַוְּךָ֣me.tza.ve.KhaH6680you this dayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117:beholdH2009,I am going to driveגֹרֵ֣שׁgo.ReshH1644outH1644the Amoriteהָאֱמֹרִי֙ha.'e.mo.RiH567from you, and the Canaaniteוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669,the Hittiteוְהַחִתִּי֙ve.ha.chi.TiH2850,the Perizziteוְהַפְּרִזִּ֔יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522,the Hiviteוְהַחִוִּ֖יve.ha.chi.ViH2340,and the Jebusiteוְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃ve.hay.vu.SiH2983.

12BeH8104carefulH8104that you do not makeתִּכְרֹ֤תtikh.RotH3772a covenantבְּרִית֙be.RitH1285with the inhabitantsלְיוֹשֵׁ֣בle.yo.ShevH3427of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776into whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you are goingבָּ֣אba'H935,orH6435it will becomeיִהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961a snareלְמוֹקֵ֖שׁle.mo.KeshH4170in your midstבְּקִרְבֶּֽךָ׃be.kir.Be.chaH7130.

13But rather,you are to tearH5422downH5422their altarsמִזְבְּחֹתָם֙miz.be.cho.TamH4196and smashתְּשַׁבֵּר֑וּןte.sha.be.RunH7665their memorialH4676stonesH4676,and cutתִּכְרֹתֽוּן׃tikh.ro.TunH3772downH3772theirAsherimאֲשֵׁרָ֖יו'a.she.RavH842
