4Now ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518the householdהַבַּיִת֮ha.ba.YitH1004isH4591tooH4480smallיִמְעַ֣טyim.'AtH4591for alambמִשֶּׂה֒mi.SehH7716,then he and his neighborוּשְׁכֵנ֛וֹu.she.khe.NoH7934nearestהַקָּרֹ֥בha.ka.RoH7138to his houseבֵּית֖וֹbei.ToH1004are to takeוְלָקַ֣חve.la.KachH3947one according to thenumberבְּמִכְסַ֣תbe.mikh.SatH4373of personsנְפָשֹׁ֑תne.fa.ShotH5315in them;in proportionלְפִ֣יle.FiH6310towhat eachH376oneאִ֚ישׁ'ishH376should eatH398, you are todivideתָּכֹ֖סּוּta.Kho.suH3699the lambהַשֶּֽׂה׃ha.SehH7716.

7Moreover, they shall takeוְלָֽקְחוּ֙ve.la.ke.ChuH3947someמִן־min-H4480of the bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818and putוְנָֽתְנ֛וּve.na.te.NuH5414it on the twoשְׁתֵּ֥יshe.TeiH8147doorpostsהַמְּזוּזֹ֖תha.me.zu.ZotH4201and on the lintelהַמַּשְׁק֑וֹףha.mash.KofH4947of the housesהַבָּ֣תִּ֔יםha.Ba.TimH1004in whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they eatיֹאכְל֥וּyo.khe.LuH398it.

8They shall eatוְאָכְל֥וּve.'a.khe.LuH398the fleshהַבָּשָׂ֖רha.ba.SarH1320that samenightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915,roastedצְלִי־tze.li-H6748with fireאֵ֣שׁ'eshH784,and they shall eatיֹאכְלֻֽהוּ׃yo.khe.Lu.huH398it withunleavenedוּמַצּ֔וֹתu.ma.TzotH4682breadH4682and bitterמְרֹרִ֖יםme.ro.RimH4844herbsH4844.

9Do not eatתֹּאכְל֤וּto.khe.LuH398anyמִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙mi.Me.nuH4480of it rawנָ֔אNa'H4995or boiledוּבָשֵׁ֥לu.va.ShelH1311atH1310allH1310with waterבַּמָּ֑יִםba.Ma.yimH4325,but ratherכִּ֣י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518roastedצְלִי־tze.li-H6748with fireאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784, bothits headרֹאשׁ֥וֹro.ShoH7218and its legsכְּרָעָ֖יוke.ra.'AvH3767alongH5921withits entrailsקִרְבּֽוֹ׃kir.BoH7130.

12ForI will goוְעָבַרְתִּ֣יve.'a.var.TiH5674through the landבְאֶֽרֶץ־ve.'e.retz-H776of Egyptמִצְרַיִם֮mitz.ra.YimH4714on that nightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915,and fatallyH5221strikeוְהִכֵּיתִ֤יve.hi.kei.TiH5221allכָל־khol-H3605the firstbornבְּכוֹר֙be.khOrH1060in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,from the humanמֵאָדָ֖םme.'a.DamH120firstbornto animalsבְּהֵמָ֑הbe.he.MahH929; andagainst allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605the godsאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Egyptמִצְרַ֛יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714I will executeאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה'e.'e.SehH6213judgmentsשְׁפָטִ֖יםshe.fa.TimH8201--I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

14‘Nowthisהַזֶּ֤הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֨וֹםhai.YomH3117shall bea memorialלְזִכָּר֔וֹןle.zi.ka.RonH2146to you, and you shall celebrateוְחַגֹּתֶ֥םve.cha.go.TemH2287it asa feastחַ֣גchagH2282to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֑הla.Yah.wehH3068;throughout your generationsלְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔םle.do.Ro.tei.KhemH1755you are to celebrateתְּחָגֻּֽהוּ׃te.cha.Gu.huH2287it asa permanentעוֹלָ֖םo.LamH5769ordinanceחֻקַּ֥תchu.KatH2708.

20You shall not eatתֹאכֵ֑לוּto.Khe.luH398anythingכָּל־kol-H3605with yeastH4263;in allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605your dwellingsמוֹשְׁבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔םmo.she.Vo.tei.KhemH4186you shall eatתֹּאכְל֖וּto.khe.LuH398unleavenedמַצּֽוֹת׃ פma.TzotH4682breadH4682.’”

21ThenMosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872calledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121for allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the eldersזִקְנֵ֥יzik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Goמִֽשְׁכ֗וּmish.KhuH4900andtakeוּקְח֨וּu.ke.ChuH3947for yourselveslambsצֹ֛אןtzonH6629according to your familiesלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיכֶ֖םle.mish.pe.cho.tei.KhemH4940,and slaughterוְשַׁחֲט֥וּve.sha.cha.TuH7819the Passoverהַפָּֽסַח׃ha.Pa.sachH6453lamb.

23Forthe Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068will passוְעָבַ֣רve.'a.VarH5674throughH5674to strikeלִנְגֹּ֣ףlin.GofH5062the Egyptiansמִצְרַיִם֒mitz.ra.YimH4714;but when He seesוְרָאָ֤הve.ra.'AhH7200the bloodהַדָּם֙ha.DamH1818on the lintelהַמַּשְׁק֔וֹףha.mash.KofH4947and on the twoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147doorpostsהַמְּזוּזֹ֑תha.me.zu.ZotH4201,the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068will passוּפָסַ֤חu.fa.SachH6452overH5921the doorהַפֶּ֔תַחha.Pe.tachH6607and willnot allowיִתֵּן֙yi.TenH5414thedestroyerהַמַּשְׁחִ֔יתha.mash.ChitH7843to comeלָבֹ֥אla.Vo'H935inH935to your housesבָּתֵּיכֶ֖םba.tei.KhemH1004to strikeלִנְגֹּֽף׃lin.GofH5062you.

24Andyou shall keepוּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖םu.she.mar.TemH8104thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088eventהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697as an ordinanceלְחָק־le.chok-H2706for you and your childrenוּלְבָנֶ֖יךָu.le.va.Nei.khaH1121foreverעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃'ad- o.LamH5704 H5769.

25Whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588you enterתָבֹ֣אוּta.Vo.'uH935the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichH834the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068will giveיִתֵּ֧ןyi.TenH5414you, as He haspromisedדִּבֵּ֑רdi.BerH1696,you shall keepוּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖םu.she.mar.TemH8104thisH2088riteהָעֲבֹדָ֥הha.'a.vo.DahH5656.

26And when your childrenבְּנֵיכֶ֑םbe.nei.KhemH1121sayיֹאמְר֥וּyo.me.RuH559to you, ‘Whatמָ֛הmahH4100does thisH2088riteהָעֲבֹדָ֥הha.'a.vo.DahH5656mean to you?’

27then you shall sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֡םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘It is a Passoverפֶּ֨סַחPe.sachH6453sacrificeזֶֽבַח־ze.vach-H2077tothe Lordלַֽיהוָ֗הla.Yah.wehH3068becauseH834HeH834passedפָּ֠סַחPa.sachH6452overעַל־'al-H5921the housesבָּתֵּ֤יba.TeiH1004of the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֔יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714when He struckבְּנָגְפּ֥וֹbe.na.ge.PoH5062the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714, butsparedהִצִּ֑ילhi.TzilH5337our homesבָּתֵּ֣ינוּba.Tei.nuH1004.’”And the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971bowedH6915lowוַיִּקֹּ֥דvai.yi.KodH6915and worshipedH2331.

28Then the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980and didוַיַּֽעֲשׂ֖וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213so;justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֧הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֖ןve.'a.ha.RonH175,soכֵּ֥ןkenH3651they didעָשֽׂוּ׃ ס'a.SuH6213.
