2a peopleעַֽם־'am-H5971who aregreatגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419and tallוָרָ֖םva.RamH7311,the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of the Anakimעֲנָקִ֑ים'a.na.KimH6062,whomH834you knowיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ya.Da'.taH3045and of whomH834you have heardשָׁמַ֔עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085it said, ‘Whoמִ֣יmiH4310can standיִתְיַצֵּ֔בyit.ya.TzevH3320againstלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Anakעֲנָֽק׃'a.NakH6061?’
3So beH3045awareH3045todayהַיּ֗וֹםhai.YomH3117thatit is the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430who is crossingH5674overH5674aheadלְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙le.fa.Nei.khaH6440of you asa consumingאֹֽכְלָ֔ה'o.khe.LahH398fireאֵ֣שׁ'eshH784.He will destroyיַשְׁמִידֵ֛םyash.mi.DemH8045them and He will subdueיַכְנִיעֵ֖םyakh.ni.'EmH3665them beforeלְפָנֶ֑יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440you, so thatyou may driveH3423them outH3423and eliminateוְהַֽאַבַדְתָּם֙ve.ha.'a.vad.TamH6them quicklyמַהֵ֔רma.HerH4118,justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696to you.
4“Do not sayH559in your heartבִּלְבָבְךָ֗bil.va.ve.KhaH3824when the Lordיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430has drivenH1920them awayH1920fromyou, ‘Because of my righteousnessבְּצִדְקָתִי֙be.tzid.ka.TiH6666the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068has broughtH935me inH935to takeH3423possessionH3423of thisH2088landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776.’ Rather, it is because of thewickednessוּבְרִשְׁעַת֙u.ve.rish.'AtH7564of theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428nationsהַגּוֹיִ֣םha.go.YimH1471thatthe Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068is dispossessingH3423them beforeH4480H6440you.
5It isnot because of your righteousnessבְצִדְקָתְךָ֗ve.tzid.ka.te.ChaH6666or the uprightnessוּבְיֹ֙שֶׁר֙u.ve.Yo.sherH3476of your heartלְבָ֣בְךָ֔le.Va.ve.khaH3824thatyou are goingבָ֖אva'H935inH935to takeH3423possessionH3423of their landאַרְצָ֑ם'ar.TzamH776, but it isbecauseכִּ֞יkiH3588of thewickednessבְּרִשְׁעַ֣ת׀be.rish.'AtH7564of theseהָאֵ֗לֶּהha.'E.lehH428nationsהַגּוֹיִ֣םha.go.YimH1471thatthe Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430is drivingH3423them outH3423from beforeמִפָּנֶ֔יךָmi.pa.Nei.khaH6440you, and inH4616orderH4616toH4616confirmהָקִ֣יםha.KimH6965theoathהַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068sworeנִשְׁבַּ֤עnish.Ba'H7650to your fathersלַאֲבֹתֶ֔יךָla.'a.vo.Tei.khaH1,to Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֥םle.'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacלְיִצְחָ֖קle.yitz.ChakH3327,and Jacobוּֽלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃u.le.ya.'a.koH3290.
6“Knowוְיָדַעְתָּ֗ve.ya.da'.TaH3045, then, that it isnot because of your righteousnessבְצִדְקָֽתְךָ֙ve.tzid.ka.te.ChaH6666thatthe Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱ֠לֹהֶיךָ'E.lo.hei.khaH430is givingנֹתֵ֨ןno.TenH5414you thisH2088goodהַטּוֹבָ֛הha.to.VahH2896landהָאָ֧רֶץha.'A.retzH776to possessלְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּle.rish.TahH3423, for you are astubbornקְשֵׁה־ עֹ֖רֶףke.sheh- 'O.refH7186H6203peopleעַם־'am-H5971.

9When I wentH5927upH5927to the mountainהָהָ֗רָהha.Ha.rahH2022to receiveלָקַ֜חַתla.Ka.chatH3947the tabletsלוּחֹ֤תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָֽאֲבָנִים֙ha.'a.va.NimH68,the tabletsלוּחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of the covenantהַבְּרִ֔יתha.be.RitH1285whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068madeכָּרַ֥תka.RatH3772with you, then I remainedוָאֵשֵׁ֣בva.'e.ShevH3427on the mountainבָּהָ֗רba.HarH2022for fortyH705daysיוֹם֙yOmH3117and nightsלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915;I neitherלֹ֣אlo'H3808ateאָכַ֔לְתִּי'a.Khal.tiH398breadלֶ֚חֶםLe.chemH3899norלֹ֥אlo'H3808drankשָׁתִֽיתִי׃sha.Ti.tiH8354waterוּמַ֖יִםu.Ma.yimH4325.
10The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068gaveוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414me the twoשְׁנֵי֙she.NeiH8147tabletsלוּחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָֽאֲבָנִ֔יםha.'a.va.NimH68writtenכְּתֻבִ֖יםke.tu.VimH3789by the fingerבְּאֶצְבַּ֣עbe.'etz.Ba'H676of Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430; and on them wereallכְּֽכָל־ke.khol-H3605the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֡יםha.de.va.RimH1697whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068had spokenדִּבֶּר֩di.BerH1696with you at the mountainבָּהָ֛רba.HarH2022from the midstמִתּ֥וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784on the dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117of the assemblyהַקָּהָֽל׃ha.ka.HalH6951.
11It cameH1961aboutH1961at the endמִקֵּץ֙mi.KetzH7093of fortyH705daysי֔וֹםYomH3117and nightsלָ֑יְלָהLa.ye.lahH3915that the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068gaveנָתַ֨ןna.TanH5414me the twoשְׁנֵ֛יshe.NeiH8147tabletsלֻחֹ֥תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָאֲבָנִ֖יםha.'a.va.NimH68,the tabletsלֻח֥וֹתlu.ChotH3871of the covenantהַבְּרִֽית׃ha.be.RitH1285.
12Then the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, ‘Ariseק֣וּםkumH6965,goרֵ֤דredH3381downH3381from hereמִזֶּ֔הmi.ZehH2088quicklyמַהֵר֙ma.HerH4118,becauseכִּ֚יkiH3588your peopleעַמְּךָ֔'a.me.KhaH5971,whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you broughtH3318outH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרָ֑יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,have behavedH7843corruptlyשִׁחֵ֣תshi.ChetH7843. They havequicklyמַהֵ֗רma.HerH4118turnedH5493asideסָ֣רוּSa.ruH5493from the wayהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I commandedצִוִּיתִ֔םtzi.vi.TimH6680them; they have madeעָשׂ֥וּ'a.SuH6213a castH4541metalH4541imageמַסֵּכָֽה׃ma.se.KhahH4541for themselves.’
14LeaveH7503Me aloneמִמֶּ֙נִּי֙mi.Me.niH4480H7503,that I may destroyוְאַשְׁמִידֵ֔םve.'ash.mi.DemH8045them andwipeוְאֶמְחֶ֣הve.'em.ChehH4229outH4229their nameשְׁמָ֔םshe.MamH8034from underמִתַּ֖חַתmi.Ta.chatH8478heavenהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064;and I will makeוְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ve.'e.'e.SehH6213of you a nationלְגוֹי־le.goy-H1471mightierעָצ֥וּם'a.TzumH6099and greaterוָרָ֖בva.RavH7227thanמִמֶּֽנּוּ׃mi.Me.nuH4480they.’
15“So I turnedוָאֵ֗פֶןva.'E.fenH6437and cameH3381downוָֽאֵרֵד֙va.'e.RedH3381from the mountainהָהָ֔רha.HarH2022while the mountainוְהָהָ֖רve.ha.HarH2022was burningבֹּעֵ֣רbo.'ErH1197with fireבָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784,and the twoוּשְׁנֵי֙u.she.NeiH8147tabletsלֻחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of the covenantהַבְּרִ֔יתha.be.RitH1285were in my twoשְׁתֵּ֥יshe.TeiH8147handsיָדָֽי׃ya.DaiH3027.
16And I sawוָאֵ֗רֶאva.'E.re'H7200that you had indeedוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009sinnedחֲטָאתֶם֙cha.ta.TemH2398against the Lordלַיהוָ֣הla.Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.You had madeעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם'a.si.TemH6213for yourselves a castH4541metalמַסֵּכָ֑הma.se.KhahH4541imageH4541of a calfעֵ֖גֶל'E.gelH5695;you had quicklyמַהֵ֔רma.HerH4118turnedH5493asideסַרְתֶּ֣םsar.TemH5493from the wayהַדֶּ֕רֶךְha.De.rekhH1870that the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680you.
18Then I fellH5307downH5307beforeלִפְנֵ֨יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068like the firstכָּרִאשֹׁנָ֗הka.ri.sho.NahH7223time,for fortyH705daysיוֹם֙yOmH3117and nightsלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915;I neitherלֹ֣אlo'H3808ateאָכַ֔לְתִּי'a.Khal.tiH398breadלֶ֚חֶםLe.chemH3899norלֹ֣אlo'H3808drankשָׁתִ֑יתִיsha.Ti.tiH8354waterוּמַ֖יִםu.Ma.yimH4325,becauseעַ֤ל'alH5921of allכָּל־kol-H3605your sinחַטַּאתְכֶם֙cha.tat.KhemH2403whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you had committedחֲטָאתֶ֔םcha.ta.TemH2398by doingלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213whatH7451wasH7451evilהָרַ֛עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,to provokeלְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ׃le.hakh.'i.SoH3707Him toH3707angerH3707.
19ForI was afraidיָגֹ֗רְתִּיya.Go.re.tiH3025of the angerהָאַף֙ha.'AfH639and the rageוְהַ֣חֵמָ֔הve.Ha.che.MahH2534with whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068wasH7107angryקָצַ֧ףka.TzafH7107with you so as to destroyלְהַשְׁמִ֣ידle.hash.MidH8045you;but the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068listenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085to me that timeבַּפַּ֥עַםba.Pa.'amH6471asH1571wellH1571.
20The Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068was also angryהִתְאַנַּ֧ףhit.'a.NafH599enoughמְאֹ֖דme.'OdH3966with Aaronוּֽבְאַהֲרֹ֗ןu.ve.'a.ha.RonH175to destroyלְהַשְׁמִיד֑וֹle.hash.mi.DoH8045him; so I alsoגַּם־gam-H1571prayedוָֽאֶתְפַּלֵּ֛לva.'et.pa.LelH6419for Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן'a.ha.RonH175at the sameהַהִֽואha.Hiv'H1931timeבָּעֵ֥תba.'EtH6256.
21And I tookלָקַחְתִּי֮la.kach.TiH3947yoursinfulחַטַּאתְכֶ֞םcha.tat.KhemH2403thingwhichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you had madeעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם'a.si.TemH6213,the calfהָעֵ֗גֶלha.'E.gelH5695,and burnedוָאֶשְׂרֹ֣ףva.'es.RofH8313it in the fireבָּאֵשׁ֒ba.'EshH784and crushedוָאֶכֹּ֨תva.'e.KotH3807it, grindingטָחוֹן֙ta.chOnH2912it thoroughlyהֵיטֵ֔בhei.TevH3190untilעַ֥ד אֲשֶׁר־'ad 'a.Sher-H5704H834it was as fineדַּ֖קdakH1854as dustלְעָפָ֑רle.'a.FarH6083;and I threwוָֽאַשְׁלִךְ֙va.'ash.liKhH7993its dustעֲפָר֔וֹa.fa.RoH6083into the streamהַנַּ֖חַלha.Na.chalH5158that cameH3381downהַיֹּרֵ֥דhai.yo.RedH3381from the mountainהָהָֽר׃ha.HarH2022.
23And when the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068sentוּבִשְׁלֹ֨חַu.vish.Lo.achH7971you fromKadesh-barneaH6947,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Goעֲלוּ֙'a.LuH5927upH5927and takeוּרְשׁ֣וּu.re.ShuH3423possessionH3423of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have givenנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414you,’ you rebelledוַתַּמְר֗וּva.tam.RuH4784againstH854thecommandפִּ֤יpiH6310of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם'e.Lo.hei.KhemH430;you neitherוְלֹ֤אve.Lo'H3808trustedהֶֽאֱמַנְתֶּם֙he.'e.man.TemH539Him norוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808listenedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֖םshe.ma'.TemH8085to His voiceבְּקֹלֽוֹ׃be.ko.LoH6963.
25“So I fellH5307downH5307beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068for the fortyH705daysהַיּ֛וֹםhai.YomH3117and nightsהַלַּ֖יְלָהha.Lay.lahH3915,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834IdidH5307becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559He would destroyלְהַשְׁמִ֥ידle.hash.MidH8045you.
26And I prayedוָאֶתְפַּלֵּ֣לva.'et.pa.LelH6419to the LordH3068and saidוָאֹמַר֒va.'o.MarH559, ‘Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068,do not destroyתַּשְׁחֵ֤תtash.ChetH7843Your peopleעַמְּךָ֙'a.me.KhaH5971,Your inheritanceוְנַחֲלָ֣תְךָ֔ve.na.cha.La.te.khaH5159,whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834You have redeemedפָּדִ֖יתָpa.Di.taH6299through Your greatnessבְּגָדְלֶ֑ךָbe.ga.de.Le.khaH1433,whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834You have broughtH3318outH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֖יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714with a mightyחֲזָקָֽה׃cha.za.KahH2389handבְּיָ֥דbe.YadH3027!
27Rememberזְכֹר֙ze.KhorH2142Your servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֔יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֥םle.'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacלְיִצְחָ֖קle.yitz.ChakH3327,and Jacobוּֽלְיַעֲקֹ֑בu.le.ya.'a.KoH3290;do not turnתֵּ֗פֶןTe.fenH6437Your attentionH6437to the stubbornnessקְשִׁי֙ke.ShiH7190of thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,or to their wickednessרִשְׁע֖וֹrish.'OH7562,or their sinחַטָּאתֽוֹ׃cha.ta.ToH2403.
28Otherwiseפֶּן־pen-H6435, the people of thelandהָאָרֶץ֮ha.'a.RetzH776from whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834You broughtH3318us will sayיֹאמְר֗וּyo.me.RuH559, “Sinceמִבְּלִי֙mi.be.LiH4480H1097the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068wasH3201not ableיְכֹ֣לֶתye.Kho.letH3201to bringלַהֲבִיאָ֕םla.ha.vi.'AmH935them into the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834He hadpromisedדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696them, and sinceH4480He hatedוּמִשִּׂנְאָת֣וֹu.mi.sin.'a.ToH8135them, He has broughtH3318them outH3318to killלַהֲמִתָ֥םla.ha.mi.TamH4191them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057!”
29Yet they are Your peopleעַמְּךָ֖'a.me.KhaH5971, andYour inheritanceוְנַחֲלָתֶ֑ךָve.na.cha.la.Te.khaH5159,whomאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834You broughtH3318outH3318by Yourgreatהַגָּדֹ֔לha.ga.DolH1419powerבְּכֹחֲךָ֣be.kho.cha.KhaH3581and Your outstretchedהַנְּטוּיָֽה׃ פha.ne.tu.YahH5186armוּבִֽזְרֹעֲךָ֖u.viz.ro.'a.KhaH2220.’
