2A peopleעַֽם־'am-H5971greatגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419and tallוָרָ֖םva.RamH7311,the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of the Anakimsעֲנָקִ֑ים'a.na.KimH6062,whom thou knowestיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ya.Da'.taH3045, and of whomthou hast heardשָׁמַ֔עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085say,Who can standיִתְיַצֵּ֔בyit.ya.TzevH3320beforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Anakעֲנָֽק׃'a.NakH6061!

3Understandוְיָדַעְתָּ֣ve.ya.da'.TaH3045therefore this dayהַיּ֗וֹםhai.YomH3117,that the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430ishe which goeth overהָעֹבֵ֤רha.'o.VerH5674beforeלְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙le.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee; asa consumingאֹֽכְלָ֔ה'o.khe.LahH398fireאֵ֣שׁ'eshH784he shall destroyיַשְׁמִידֵ֛םyash.mi.DemH8045them, and he shall bring them downיַכְנִיעֵ֖םyakh.ni.'EmH3665before thy faceלְפָנֶ֑יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440:so shalt thou drive them outוְהֽוֹרַשְׁתָּ֤םve.ho.rash.TamH3423,and destroyוְהַֽאַבַדְתָּם֙ve.ha.'a.vad.TamH6them quicklyמַהֵ֔רma.HerH4118,as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068hath saidדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696unto thee.

4Speakתֹּאמַ֣רto.MarH559not thou in thine heartבִּלְבָבְךָ֗bil.va.ve.KhaH3824,after that the Lordיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430hath cast them outבַּהֲדֹ֣ףba.ha.DofH1920from beforeמִלְּפָנֶיךָ֮mi.le.fa.nei.KhaH6440thee, sayingלֵאמֹר֒le.MorH559,For my righteousnessבְּצִדְקָתִי֙be.tzid.ka.TiH6666the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068hath brought me inהֱבִיאַ֣נִיhe.vi.'A.niH935to possessלָרֶ֖שֶׁתla.Re.shetH3423this landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776:but for the wickednessוּבְרִשְׁעַת֙u.ve.rish.'AtH7564of these nationsהַגּוֹיִ֣םha.go.YimH1471the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068doth drive them outמוֹרִישָׁ֥םmo.ri.ShamH3423from beforeמִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃mi.pa.Nei.khaH6440thee.

5Not for thy righteousnessבְצִדְקָתְךָ֗ve.tzid.ka.te.ChaH6666,or for the uprightnessוּבְיֹ֙שֶׁר֙u.ve.Yo.sherH3476of thine heartלְבָ֣בְךָ֔le.Va.ve.khaH3824,dost thou goבָ֖אva'H935to possessלָרֶ֣שֶׁתla.Re.shetH3423their landאַרְצָ֑ם'ar.TzamH776:but for the wickednessבְּרִשְׁעַ֣ת׀be.rish.'AtH7564of these nationsהַגּוֹיִ֣םha.go.YimH1471the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430doth drive them outמוֹרִישָׁ֣םmo.ri.ShamH3423from beforeמִפָּנֶ֔יךָmi.pa.Nei.khaH6440thee, and that he may performהָקִ֣יםha.KimH6965the wordהַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697which the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068swareנִשְׁבַּ֤עnish.Ba'H7650unto thy fathersלַאֲבֹתֶ֔יךָla.'a.vo.Tei.khaH1,Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֥םle.'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacלְיִצְחָ֖קle.yitz.ChakH3327,and Jacobוּֽלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃u.le.ya.'a.koH3290.

6Understandוְיָדַעְתָּ֗ve.ya.da'.TaH3045therefore, that the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱ֠לֹהֶיךָ'E.lo.hei.khaH430givethנֹתֵ֨ןno.TenH5414thee not this goodהַטּוֹבָ֛הha.to.VahH2896landהָאָ֧רֶץha.'A.retzH776to possessלְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּle.rish.TahH3423it for thy righteousnessבְצִדְקָֽתְךָ֙ve.tzid.ka.te.ChaH6666; for thou arta stiffneckedקְשֵׁה־ עֹ֖רֶףke.sheh- 'O.refH7186 H6203peopleעַם־'am-H5971.

7Rememberזְכֹר֙ze.KhorH2142, andforgetתִּשְׁכַּ֔חtish.KachH7911not, how thou provokedst the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430to wrathהִקְצַ֛פְתָּhik.Tzaf.taH7107in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057:fromלְמִן־le.min-H4480the dayהַיּ֞וֹםhai.YomH3117that thou didst depart outיָצָ֣אתָ׀ya.Tza.taH3318of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֗יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,until ye cameבֹּֽאֲכֶם֙bo.'a.KhemH935unto this placeהַמָּק֣וֹםha.ma.KomH4725,ye have been rebelliousמַמְרִ֥יםmam.RimH4784againstעִם־'im-H5973the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

8Also in Horebוּבְחֹרֵ֥בu.ve.cho.RevH2722ye provokedH7107the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068to wrathH7107,so that the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068was angryוַיִּתְאַנַּ֧ףvai.yit.'a.NafH599with you to have destroyedלְהַשְׁמִ֥ידle.hash.MidH8045you.

9When I was gone upבַּעֲלֹתִ֣יba.'a.lo.TiH5927into the mountהָהָ֗רָהha.Ha.rahH2022to receiveלָקַ֜חַתla.Ka.chatH3947the tablesלוּחֹ֤תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָֽאֲבָנִים֙ha.'a.va.NimH68, eventhe tablesלוּחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of the covenantהַבְּרִ֔יתha.be.RitH1285which the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068madeכָּרַ֥תka.RatH3772with you, then I abodeוָאֵשֵׁ֣בva.'e.ShevH3427in the mountבָּהָ֗רba.HarH2022fortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysיוֹם֙yOmH3117and fortyוְאַרְבָּעִ֣יםve.'ar.ba.'ImH705nightsלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915,I neither did eatאָכַ֔לְתִּי'a.Khal.tiH398breadלֶ֚חֶםLe.chemH3899nor drinkשָׁתִֽיתִי׃sha.Ti.tiH8354waterוּמַ֖יִםu.Ma.yimH4325:

10And the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068deliveredוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414unto me twoשְׁנֵי֙she.NeiH8147tablesלוּחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָֽאֲבָנִ֔יםha.'a.va.NimH68writtenכְּתֻבִ֖יםke.tu.VimH3789with the fingerבְּאֶצְבַּ֣עbe.'etz.Ba'H676of Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430; and on them was writtenaccording to all the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֡יםha.de.va.RimH1697,which the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068spakeדִּבֶּר֩di.BerH1696with you in the mountבָּהָ֛רba.HarH2022out of the midstמִתּ֥וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784in the dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117of the assemblyהַקָּהָֽל׃ha.ka.HalH6951.

11And it came to pass at the endמִקֵּץ֙mi.KetzH7093of fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysי֔וֹםYomH3117and fortyוְאַרְבָּעִ֖יםve.'ar.ba.'ImH705nightsלָ֑יְלָהLa.ye.lahH3915, thatthe Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068gaveנָתַ֨ןna.TanH5414me the twoשְׁנֵ֛יshe.NeiH8147tablesלֻחֹ֥תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָאֲבָנִ֖יםha.'a.va.NimH68, eventhe tablesלֻח֥וֹתlu.ChotH3871of the covenantהַבְּרִֽית׃ha.be.RitH1285.

12And the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Ariseק֣וּםkumH6965,get thee downרֵ֤דredH3381quicklyמַהֵר֙ma.HerH4118from hence; for thy peopleעַמְּךָ֔'a.me.KhaH5971which thou hast brought forthהוֹצֵ֖אתָho.Tze.taH3318out of Egyptמִמִּצְרָ֑יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714have corruptedשִׁחֵ֣תshi.ChetH7843themselves;they are quicklyמַהֵ֗רma.HerH4118turned asideסָ֣רוּSa.ruH5493out of the wayהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870which I commandedצִוִּיתִ֔םtzi.vi.TimH6680them; they have madeעָשׂ֥וּ'a.SuH6213them a molten imageמַסֵּכָֽה׃ma.se.KhahH4541.

13Furthermore the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spakeוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,I have seenרָאִ֙יתִי֙ra.'I.tiH7200this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971, and, behold, it isa stiffneckedקְשֵׁה־ עֹ֖רֶףke.sheh- 'O.refH7186 H6203peopleעַם־'am-H5971:

14Let me aloneהֶ֤רֶףHe.refH7503,that I may destroyוְאַשְׁמִידֵ֔םve.'ash.mi.DemH8045them, and blot outוְאֶמְחֶ֣הve.'em.ChehH4229their nameשְׁמָ֔םshe.MamH8034from under heavenהַשָּׁמָ֑יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064:and I will makeוְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ve.'e.'e.SehH6213ofH854thee a nationלְגוֹי־le.goy-H1471mightierעָצ֥וּם'a.TzumH6099and greaterוָרָ֖בva.RavH7227than they.

15So I turnedוָאֵ֗פֶןva.'E.fenH6437and came downוָֽאֵרֵד֙va.'e.RedH3381from the mountהָהָ֔רha.HarH2022,and the mountוְהָהָ֖רve.ha.HarH2022burnedבֹּעֵ֣רbo.'ErH1197with fireבָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784:and the twoוּשְׁנֵי֙u.she.NeiH8147tablesלֻחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of the covenantהַבְּרִ֔יתha.be.RitH1285werein my twoשְׁתֵּ֥יshe.TeiH8147handsיָדָֽי׃ya.DaiH3027.

16And I lookedוָאֵ֗רֶאva.'E.re'H7200,and, behold, ye had sinnedחֲטָאתֶם֙cha.ta.TemH2398against the Lordלַיהוָ֣הla.Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430, andhad madeעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם'a.si.TemH6213you a moltenמַסֵּכָ֑הma.se.KhahH4541calfעֵ֖גֶל'E.gelH5695:ye had turned asideסַרְתֶּ֣םsar.TemH5493quicklyמַהֵ֔רma.HerH4118out of the wayהַדֶּ֕רֶךְha.De.rekhH1870which the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680you.

17And I tookוָאֶתְפֹּשׂ֙va.'et.PosH8610the twoבִּשְׁנֵ֣יbish.NeiH8147tablesהַלֻּחֹ֔תha.lu.ChotH3871,and castוָֽאַשְׁלִכֵ֔םva.'ash.li.KhemH7993them out ofמֵעַ֖לme.'AlH5921my twoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147handsיָדָ֑יya.DaiH3027,and brakeוָאֲשַׁבְּרֵ֖םva.'a.sha.be.RemH7665them before your eyesלְעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.KhemH5869.

18And I fell downוָֽאֶתְנַפַּל֩va.'et.na.PalH5307beforeלִפְנֵ֨יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068,as at the firstכָּרִאשֹׁנָ֗הka.ri.sho.NahH7223,fortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysיוֹם֙yOmH3117and fortyוְאַרְבָּעִ֣יםve.'ar.ba.'ImH705nightsלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915:I did neither eatאָכַ֔לְתִּי'a.Khal.tiH398breadלֶ֚חֶםLe.chemH3899,nor drinkשָׁתִ֑יתִיsha.Ti.tiH8354waterוּמַ֖יִםu.Ma.yimH4325,because of all your sinsחַטַּאתְכֶם֙cha.tat.KhemH2403which ye sinnedחֲטָאתֶ֔םcha.ta.TemH2398,in doingלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213wickedlyהָרַ֛עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,to provoke him to angerלְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ׃le.hakh.'i.SoH3707.

19For I was afraidיָגֹ֗רְתִּיya.Go.re.tiH3025ofמִפְּנֵ֤יmi.pe.NeiH6440the angerהָאַף֙ha.'AfH639and hot displeasureוְהַ֣חֵמָ֔הve.Ha.che.MahH2534,wherewith the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068was wrothקָצַ֧ףka.TzafH7107against you to destroyלְהַשְׁמִ֣ידle.hash.MidH8045you. But the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hearkenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085unto me at that timeבַּפַּ֥עַםba.Pa.'amH6471also.

20And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068was veryמְאֹ֖דme.'OdH3966angryהִתְאַנַּ֧ףhit.'a.NafH599with Aaronוּֽבְאַהֲרֹ֗ןu.ve.'a.ha.RonH175to have destroyedלְהַשְׁמִיד֑וֹle.hash.mi.DoH8045him: and I prayedוָֽאֶתְפַּלֵּ֛לva.'et.pa.LelH6419for Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן'a.ha.RonH175also the same timeבָּעֵ֥תba.'EtH6256.

21And I tookלָקַחְתִּי֮la.kach.TiH3947your sinחַטַּאתְכֶ֞םcha.tat.KhemH2403,the calfהָעֵ֗גֶלha.'E.gelH5695which ye had madeעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם'a.si.TemH6213,and burntוָאֶשְׂרֹ֣ףva.'es.RofH8313it with fireבָּאֵשׁ֒ba.'EshH784,and stampedוָאֶכֹּ֨תva.'e.KotH3807it, andgroundטָחוֹן֙ta.chOnH2912itvery smallהֵיטֵ֔בhei.TevH3190, evenuntil it was as smallדַּ֖קdakH1854as dustלְעָפָ֑רle.'a.FarH6083:and I castוָֽאַשְׁלִךְ֙va.'ash.liKhH7993the dustעֲפָר֔וֹa.fa.RoH6083thereof into the brookהַנַּ֖חַלha.Na.chalH5158that descended outהַיֹּרֵ֥דhai.yo.RedH3381of the mountהָהָֽר׃ha.HarH2022.

22And at Taberahוּבְתַבְעֵרָה֙u.ve.tav.'e.RahH8404,and at Massahוּבְמַסָּ֔הu.ve.ma.SahH4532,and at Kibroth–hattaavahH6914,ye provoked the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068to wrathמַקְצִפִ֥יםmak.tzi.FimH7107.

23Likewise when the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068sentוּבִשְׁלֹ֨חַu.vish.Lo.achH7971you from Kadesh–barneaH6947,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Go upעֲלוּ֙'a.LuH5927and possessוּרְשׁ֣וּu.re.ShuH3423the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which I have givenנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414you; then ye rebelledוַתַּמְר֗וּva.tam.RuH4784against the commandmentפִּ֤יpiH6310of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם'e.Lo.hei.KhemH430,and ye believedהֶֽאֱמַנְתֶּם֙he.'e.man.TemH539him not, nor hearkenedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֖םshe.ma'.TemH8085to his voiceבְּקֹלֽוֹ׃be.ko.LoH6963.

24Ye have been rebelliousמַמְרִ֥יםmam.RimH4784against the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068from the dayמִיּ֖וֹםmi.YomH3117that I knewדַּעְתִּ֥יda'.TiH3045you.

25Thus I fell downוָֽאֶתְנַפַּ֞לva.'et.na.PalH5307beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068fortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysהַיּ֛וֹםhai.YomH3117and fortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705nightsהַלַּ֖יְלָהha.Lay.lahH3915,as I fell downהִתְנַפָּ֑לְתִּיhit.na.Pal.tiH5307at the first;because the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had saidאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559he would destroyלְהַשְׁמִ֥ידle.hash.MidH8045you.

26I prayedוָאֶתְפַּלֵּ֣לva.'et.pa.LelH6419therefore unto the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068,and saidוָאֹמַר֒va.'o.MarH559,O Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהוִ֗הYah.wehH3069,destroyתַּשְׁחֵ֤תtash.ChetH7843not thy peopleעַמְּךָ֙'a.me.KhaH5971and thine inheritanceוְנַחֲלָ֣תְךָ֔ve.na.cha.La.te.khaH5159,which thou hast redeemedפָּדִ֖יתָpa.Di.taH6299through thy greatnessבְּגָדְלֶ֑ךָbe.ga.de.Le.khaH1433,which thou hast brought forthהוֹצֵ֥אתָho.Tze.taH3318out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֖יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714with a mightyחֲזָקָֽה׃cha.za.KahH2389handבְּיָ֥דbe.YadH3027.

27Rememberזְכֹר֙ze.KhorH2142thy servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֔יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֥םle.'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacלְיִצְחָ֖קle.yitz.ChakH3327,and Jacobוּֽלְיַעֲקֹ֑בu.le.ya.'a.KoH3290;lookתֵּ֗פֶןTe.fenH6437not unto the stubbornnessקְשִׁי֙ke.ShiH7190of this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,nor to their wickednessרִשְׁע֖וֹrish.'OH7562,nor to their sinחַטָּאתֽוֹ׃cha.ta.ToH2403:

28Lest the landהָאָרֶץ֮ha.'a.RetzH776whence thou broughtest us outהוֹצֵאתָ֣נוּho.tze.Ta.nuH3318sayיֹאמְר֗וּyo.me.RuH559,Because the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068was not ableיְכֹ֣לֶתye.Kho.letH3201to bringלַהֲבִיאָ֕םla.ha.vi.'AmH935them into the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776which he promisedדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696them, and because he hatedוּמִשִּׂנְאָת֣וֹu.mi.sin.'a.ToH8135them, he hath brought them outהוֹצִיאָ֖םho.tzi.'AmH3318to slayלַהֲמִתָ֥םla.ha.mi.TamH4191them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

29Yet they arethy peopleעַמְּךָ֖'a.me.KhaH5971and thine inheritanceוְנַחֲלָתֶ֑ךָve.na.cha.la.Te.khaH5159,which thou broughtest outהוֹצֵ֙אתָ֙ho.Tze.taH3318by thy mightyהַגָּדֹ֔לha.ga.DolH1419powerבְּכֹחֲךָ֣be.kho.cha.KhaH3581and by thy stretched outהַנְּטוּיָֽה׃ פha.ne.tu.YahH5186armוּבִֽזְרֹעֲךָ֖u.viz.ro.'a.KhaH2220.
