3Now Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,you shall listenוְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤ve.sha.ma'.TaH8085and beH8104carefulH8104to doלַעֲשׂ֔וֹתla.'a.SotH6213them, so thatit may goיִיטַ֣בyi.TavH3190wellH3190for you and that you may increaseתִּרְבּ֖וּןtir.BunH7235greatlyמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966,justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of your fathersאֲבֹתֶ֙יךָ֙'a.vo.Tei.khaH1, haspromisedדִּבֶּ֨רdi.BerH1696you, ina landאֶ֛רֶץ'E.retzH776flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבָֽשׁ׃ פu.de.VashH1706.

4“Hearשְׁמַ֖עshe.Ma'H8085,Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478!The Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068is our Godאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430, theLordיְהוָ֥ה׀Yah.wehH3068is oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259!

5Andyou shall loveוְאָ֣הַבְתָּ֔ve.'A.hav.taH157the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430with allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605your heartלְבָבְךָ֥le.va.ve.KhaH3824and with allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605your soulנַפְשְׁךָ֖naf.she.KhaH5315and with allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605your strengthמְאֹדֶֽךָ׃me.'o.De.khaH3966.

6Theseהָאֵ֗לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697,whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834I am commandingמְצַוְּךָ֛me.tza.ve.KhaH6680you todayהַיּ֖וֹםhai.YomH3117,shall be on your heartלְבָבֶֽךָ׃le.va.Ve.khaH3824.

7Andyou shall repeatH8150them diligentlyH8150to your sonsלְבָנֶ֔יךָle.va.Nei.khaH1121and speakוְדִבַּרְתָּ֖ve.di.bar.TaH1696of them when you sitבְּשִׁבְתְּךָ֤be.shiv.te.KhaH3427in your houseבְּבֵיתֶ֙ךָ֙be.vei.Te.khaH1004,when you walkוּבְלֶכְתְּךָ֣u.ve.lekh.te.KhaH1980on the roadבַדֶּ֔רֶךְva.De.rekhH1870,when you lieH7901downH7901,and when you getH6965upH6965.

8You shall also tieוּקְשַׁרְתָּ֥םu.ke.shar.TamH7194them as asignלְא֖וֹתle.'otH226to yourhandיָדֶ֑ךָya.De.khaH3027, and they shall be asfrontletsלְטֹטָפֹ֖תle.to.ta.FotH2903on your foreheadבֵּ֥ין עֵינֶֽיךָ׃bein 'ei.Nei.khaH996 H5869.

9You shall also writeוּכְתַבְתָּ֛םu.khe.tav.TamH3789them on thedoorpostsמְזוּזֹ֥תme.zu.ZotH4201of your houseבֵּיתֶ֖ךָbei.Te.khaH1004and on your gatesוּבִשְׁעָרֶֽיךָ׃ סu.vish.'a.Rei.khaH8179.

10“Then it shall comeH1961aboutH1961whenכִּ֥יkiH3588the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430bringsיְבִיאֲךָ֣׀ye.vi.'a.KhaH935you into the landהָאָ֜רֶץha.'A.retzH776thatאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834He sworeנִשְׁבַּ֧עnish.Ba'H7650to your fathersלַאֲבֹתֶ֛יךָla.'a.vo.Tei.khaH1,to Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֛םle.'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacלְיִצְחָ֥קle.yitz.ChakH3327,and Jacobוּֽלְיַעֲקֹ֖בu.le.ya.'a.KoH3290,to giveלָ֣תֶתLa.tetH5414you,greatגְּדֹלֹ֥תge.do.LotH1419and splendidוְטֹבֹ֖תve.to.VotH2896citiesעָרִ֛ים'a.RimH5892whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you did not buildבָנִֽיתָ׃va.Ni.taH1129,

13You shallfearתִּירָ֖אti.Ra'H3372onlythe Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430; and you shallworshipתַעֲבֹ֑דta.'a.VodH5647Him andswearתִּשָּׁבֵֽעַ׃ti.sha.Ve.a'H7650by His nameוּבִשְׁמ֖וֹu.vish.MoH8034.

14You shall not followתֵֽלְכ֔וּן אַחֲרֵ֖יte.le.Khun 'a.cha.ReiH1980 H310otherאֲחֵרִ֑ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430,anyH312of the godsמֵאֱלֹהֵי֙me.'e.lo.HeiH430of the peoplesהָֽעַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834surroundסְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃se.vi.vo.tei.KhemH5439you,

15for the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430who isin the midstבְּקִרְבֶּ֑ךָbe.kir.Be.chaH7130of you is ajealousקַנָּ֛אka.Na'H7067Godאֵ֥ל'elH410; so follow Him,orH6435elseH6435the angerאַף־'af-H639of the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430will be kindledיֶ֠חֱרֶהYe.che.rehH2734against you, and He willwipeוְהִשְׁמִ֣ידְךָ֔ve.hish.Mi.de.khaH8045you offמֵעַ֖לme.'AlH4480 H5921the faceפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440of the earthהָאֲדָמָֽה׃ סha.'a.da.MahH127.

16“You shall not putתְנַסּ֔וּte.na.SuH5254the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430toH5254theH5254testנִסִּיתֶ֖םni.si.TemH5254,as you testedH5254Himat Massahבַּמַּסָּֽה׃ba.ma.SahH4532.

17You shall diligentlyשָׁמ֣וֹרsha.MorH8104keepתִּשְׁמְר֔וּןtish.me.RunH8104the commandmentsמִצְוֹ֖תmitz.VotH4687of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430,and His provisionsוְעֵדֹתָ֥יוve.'e.do.TavH5713and His statutesוְחֻקָּ֖יוve.chu.KavH2706whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834He has commandedצִוָּֽךְ׃tzi.VakhH6680you.

18You shall doוְעָשִׂ֛יתָve.'a.Si.taH6213what is rightהַיָּשָׁ֥רhai.ya.SharH3477and goodוְהַטּ֖וֹבve.ha.TovH2896in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,soלְמַ֙עַן֙le.Ma.'anH4616thatH4616it may goיִ֣יטַבYi.tavH3190wellH3190for you and that you may goוּבָ֗אתָu.Va.taH935inH935and takeוְיָֽרַשְׁתָּ֙ve.ya.rash.TaH3423possessionH3423of the goodהַטֹּבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068sworeנִשְׁבַּ֥עnish.Ba'H7650to giveyour fathersלַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃la.'a.vo.Tei.khaH1,

19by drivingלַהֲדֹ֥ףla.ha.DofH1920outH1920allכָּל־kol-H3605your enemiesH340from you, as the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696.

21then you shall sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to your sonלְבִנְךָ֔le.vin.KhaH1121, ‘We were slavesעֲבָדִ֛ים'a.va.DimH5650to Pharaohלְפַרְעֹ֖הle.far.'OhH6547in Egyptבְּמִצְרָ֑יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,and the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068broughtH3318us outH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֖יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714with a mightyחֲזָקָֽה׃cha.za.KahH2389handבְּיָ֥דbe.YadH3027.

22Moreover, the Lordיְהוָ֡הYah.wehH3068providedוַיִּתֵּ֣ןvai.yi.TenH5414greatגְּדֹלִ֨יםge.do.LimH1419and terribleוְרָעִ֧ים׀ve.ra.'ImH7451signsאוֹתֹ֣ת'o.TotH226and wondersוּ֠מֹפְתִיםU.mo.fe.timH4159before our eyesלְעֵינֵֽינוּ׃le.'ei.Nei.nuH5869against Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֛יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,Pharaohבְּפַרְעֹ֥הbe.far.'OhH6547,and allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605his householdבֵּית֖וֹbei.ToH1004;
