Psalms 37
Security of Those Who Trust in the Lord, and Insecurity of the Wicked.
A Psalm of David.
11Do not fretH2734 because of evildoersH7489, Be not 2enviousH7065 toward wrongdoersH5767.2For they will 3witherH4448 quicklyH4120 like the grassH2682 And 4fadeH5034 like the greenH3418 herbH1877.35TrustH982 in the LordH3068 and doH6213 goodH2896; 6DwellH7931 in the landH776 and 78cultivateH7462 faithfulnessH530.49DelightH6026 yourself in the LordH3068; And He will 10giveH5414 you the desiresH4862 of your heartH3820.511CommitH1556 your wayH1870 to the LordH3068, TrustH982 also in Him, and He will doH6213 it.6He will bringH3318 forthH3318 12your righteousnessH6664 as the lightH216 And your judgmentH4941 13as the noondayH6672.
714RestH1826 in the LordH3068 and 15waitH2342 16patientlyH2342 for Him; 17Do not fretH2734 because of him who 18prospersH6743 in his wayH1870, Because of the manH376 who carriesH6213 out wickedH4209 schemesH4209.8CeaseH7503 from angerH639 and 19forsakeH5800 wrathH2534; Do not fretH2734; it leads onlyH389 to evildoingH7489.9For 20evildoersH7489 will be cutH3772 offH3772, But those who waitH6960 for the LordH3068, they will 21inheritH3423 the landH776.10YetH5750 22a littleH4592 whileH4592 and the wickedH7563 manH7563 will be noH369 moreH369; And you will lookH995 carefullyH995 for 23his placeH4725 and he will not be there.11But 24the humbleH6035 will inheritH3423 the landH776 And will delightH6026 themselves in 25abundantH7230 prosperityH7965.
12The wickedH7563 26plotsH2161 against the righteousH6662 And 27gnashesH2786 at him with his teethH8127.13The LordH136 28laughsH7832 at him, For He seesH7200 29his dayH3117 is comingH935.14The wickedH7563 have drawnH6605 the swordH2719 and 30bentH1869 their bowH7198 To castH5307 downH5307 the 31afflictedH6041 and the needyH34, To 32slayH2873 those whoH3477 are uprightH3477 in conductH1870.15Their swordH2719 will enterH935 their own heartH3820, And their 33bowsH7198 will be brokenH7665.
1634BetterH2896 is the littleH4592 of the righteousH6662 ThanH4480 the abundanceH1995 of manyH7227 wickedH7563.17For the 35armsH2220 of the wickedH7563 will be brokenH7665, But the LordH3068 36sustainsH5564 the righteousH6662.18The LordH3068 37knowsH3045 the daysH3117 of the 38blamelessH8549, And their 39inheritanceH5159 will be foreverH5769.19They will not be ashamedH954 in the timeH6256 of evilH7463, And 40in the daysH3117 of famineH7459 they will haveH7646 abundanceH7646.20But the 41wickedH7563 will perishH6; And the enemiesH340 of the LordH3068 will be like the 42gloryH3368 of the pasturesH3733, They vanishH3615--43like smokeH6227 they vanishH3615 away.21The wickedH7563 borrowsH3867 and does not payH7999 backH7999, But the righteousH6662 44is graciousH2603 and givesH5414.22For 45those blessedH1288 by Him will 46inheritH3423 the landH776, But those 47cursedH7043 by Him will be cutH3772 offH3772.
2348The stepsH4703 of a manH1397 are establishedH3559 by the LordH3068, And He 49delightsH2654 in his wayH1870.24WhenH3588 50he fallsH5307, he will not be hurledH2904 headlongH2904, BecauseH3588 51the LordH3068 is the One 52who holdsH5564 his handH3027.25I have beenH1961 youngH5288 and nowH1571 I am oldH2204, Yet 53I have not seenH7200 the righteousH6662 forsakenH5800 Or 54his 55descendantsH2233 beggingH1245 breadH3899.26AllH3605 dayH3117 long 56he is graciousH2603 and lendsH3867, And 57his 58descendantsH2233 are a blessingH1293.
2759DepartH5493 from evilH7451 and doH6213 goodH2896, 60So you will abideH7931 61foreverH5769.28For the LordH3068 62lovesH157 63justiceH4941 And 64does not forsakeH5800 His godlyH2623 onesH2623; They are 65preservedH8104 foreverH5769, But the 6667descendantsH2233 of the wickedH7563 will be cutH3772 offH3772.29The righteousH6662 will 68inheritH3423 the landH776 And 69dwellH7931 in it foreverH5703.30The mouthH6310 of the righteousH6662 70uttersH1897 wisdomH2451, And his tongueH3956 71speaksH1696 justiceH4941.31The 72lawH8451 of his GodH430 is in his heartH3820; His 73stepsH804 do not slipH4571.32The 74wickedH7563 spiesH6822 upon the righteousH6662 And 75seeksH1245 to killH4191 him.33The LordH3068 will 76not leaveH5800 him in his handH3027 Or 77let him be condemnedH7561 when he is judgedH8199.3478WaitH6960 for the LordH3068 and keepH8104 His wayH1870, And He will exaltH7311 you to inheritH3423 the landH776; When the 79wickedH7563 are cutH3772 offH3772, you will seeH7200 it.
35I have 80seenH7200 a wickedH7563, violentH6184 manH7563 SpreadingH6168 himself like a 81luxuriantH7488 82treeH249 in its nativeH249 soil.36Then 83he passedH5674 awayH5674, and loH2009, he 84was noH369 moreH369; I soughtH1245 for him, but he could not be foundH4672.37MarkH8104 the 8586blamelessH8535 manH8535, and beholdH7200 the 87uprightH3477; For the manH376 of peaceH7965 will have a 8889posterityH319.38But transgressorsH6586 will be altogetherH3164 90destroyedH8045; The 91posterityH319 of the wickedH7563 will be 92cutH3772 offH3772.39But the 93salvationH8668 of the righteousH6662 is from the LordH3068; He is their strengthH4581 94in timeH6256 of troubleH6869.4095The LordH3068 helpsH5826 them and deliversH6403 them; He 96deliversH6403 them from the wickedH7563 and savesH3467 them, BecauseH3588 they 97takeH2620 refugeH2620 in Him.
