New American Standard Bible 1995
The Lord Delivers Men from Manifold Troubles.
1Oh 1giveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068, for 2He is goodH2896, For His lovingkindnessH2617 is everlastingH5769.2Let 3the redeemedH1350 of the LordH3068 sayH559 so, WhomH834 He has 4redeemedH1350 from the handH3027 of the adversaryH68623And 5gatheredH6908 from the landsH776, From the eastH4217 and from the westH4628, From the northH6828 and from the 6southH3220.
4They 7wanderedH8582 in the wildernessH4057 in a 8desertH3452 regionH3452; They did not findH4672 a wayH1870 to 9an inhabitedH4186 10cityH5892.5They were hungryH7457 11and thirstyH6771; Their 12soulH5315 faintedH5848 within them.6Then they 13criedH6817 out to the LordH3068 in their troubleH6862; He deliveredH5337 them out of their distressesH4691.7He ledH1869 them also by a 1415straightH3477 wayH1870, To goH1980 to 1617an inhabitedH4186 cityH5892.818Let them giveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068 for His lovingkindnessH2617, And for His 19wondersH6381 to the sonsH1121 of menH120!9For He has 20satisfiedH7646 the 21thirstyH8264 soulH5315, And the 22hungryH7457 soulH5315 He has filledH4390 with whatH2896 is goodH2896.
10There were those who 23dweltH3427 in darknessH2822 and in the shadowH6757 of deathH6757, 24PrisonersH615 in 25miseryH6040 and 26chainsH1270,11BecauseH3588 they had 27rebelledH4784 against the wordsH561 of GodH410 And 28spurnedH5006 the 29counselH6098 of the MostH5945 HighH5945.12Therefore He humbledH3665 their heartH3820 with laborH5999; They stumbledH3782 and thereH369 was 30noneH369 to helpH5826.13Then they 31criedH2199 out to the LordH3068 in their troubleH6862; He savedH3467 them out of their distressesH4691.14He 32broughtH3318 them out of darknessH2822 and the shadowH6757 of deathH6757 And 33brokeH5423 their bandsH4147 apartH5423.1534Let them giveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068 for His lovingkindnessH2617, And for His 35wondersH6381 to the sonsH1121 of menH120!16For He has 36shatteredH7665 gatesH1817 of bronzeH5178 And cutH1438 barsH1280 of ironH1270 asunderH1438.
17FoolsH191, becauseH4480 of 37their rebelliousH6588 wayH1870, And 38becauseH4480 of their iniquitiesH5771, were afflictedH6031.18Their 39soulH5315 abhorredH8581 allH3605 kinds of foodH400, And they 40drewH5060 nearH5060 to the 41gatesH8179 of deathH4194.19Then they criedH2199 out to the LordH3068 in their troubleH6862; He savedH3467 them out of their distressesH4691.20He 42sentH7971 His wordH1697 and 43healedH7495 them, And 44deliveredH4422 them from their 45destructionsH7825.2146Let them giveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068 for His lovingkindnessH2617, And for His 47wondersH6381 to the sonsH1121 of menH120!22Let them also offerH2076 48sacrificesH2077 of thanksgivingH8426, And 49tellH5608 of His worksH4639 with joyfulH7440 singingH7440.
23Those who 50goH3381 downH3381 to the seaH3220 in shipsH591, Who doH6213 businessH4399 on greatH7227 watersH4325;24They have seenH7200 the worksH4639 of the LordH3068, And His 51wondersH6381 in the deepH4688.25For He 52spokeH559 and raisedH5975 up a 53stormyH5591 windH7307, Which 54liftedH7311 up the wavesH1530 55of the sea.26They roseH5927 up to the heavensH8064, they wentH3381 downH3381 to the depthsH8415; Their soulH5315 56meltedH4127 away in their miseryH7463.27They reeledH2287 and 57staggeredH5128 like a drunkenH7910 manH7910, And 58were at their wits’H2451 endH1104.28Then they criedH6817 to the LordH3068 in their troubleH6862, And He broughtH3318 them out of their distressesH4691.29He 59causedH6965 the stormH5591 to be stillH1827, So that the wavesH1530 60of the sea were hushedH2814.30Then they were gladH8055 becauseH3588 they were quietH8367, So He guidedH5148 them to their desiredH2656 havenH4231.3161Let them giveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068 for His lovingkindnessH2617, And for His 6263wondersH6381 to the sonsH1121 of menH120!32Let them 64extolH7311 Him also 65in the congregationH6951 of the peopleH5971, And 66praiseH1984 Him at the seatH4186 of the eldersH2205.
33He 6768changesH7760 riversH5104 into a 69wildernessH4057 And springsH4161 of waterH4325 into a thirstyH6774 groundH6774;34A 70fruitfulH6529 landH776 into a 71saltH4420 wasteH4420, BecauseH4480 of the wickednessH7463 of those who dwellH3427 in it.35He 7273changesH7760 a 74wildernessH4057 into a poolH98 of waterH4325 And a dryH6723 landH776 into springsH4161 of waterH4325;36And thereH8033 He makes the hungryH7457 to dwellH3427, So that they may establishH3559 7576an inhabitedH4186 cityH5892,37And sowH2232 fieldsH7704 and 77plantH5193 vineyardsH3754, And 78gatherH6213 a fruitfulH6529 harvestH8393.38Also He blessesH1288 them and they 79multiplyH7235 greatlyH3966, And He 80does not let their cattleH929 decreaseH4591.
39When they are 81diminishedH4591 and 82bowedH7817 downH7817 ThroughH4480 oppressionH6115, miseryH7463 and sorrowH3015,40He 83poursH8210 contemptH937 upon 84princesH5081 And 85makes them wanderH8582 86in a pathlessH3808H1870 wasteH8414.41But He 87setsH7682 the needyH34 88securelyH7682 on highH7682 away from afflictionH6040, And 89makesH7760 his familiesH4940 like a flockH6629.42The 90uprightH3477 seeH7200 it and are gladH8055; But allH3605 91unrighteousnessH5767 shutsH7092 its mouthH6310.43WhoH4310 is 92wiseH2450? Let him giveH8104 heedH8104 to theseH428 thingsH428, And considerH995 the 93lovingkindnessesH2617 of the LordH3068.
