Psalm 118

New American Standard Bible 1995

Thanksgiving for the Lord’s Saving Goodness.

11GiveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068, for 2He is goodH2896; For His lovingkindnessH2617 is everlastingH5769.2OhH4994 let 3IsraelH3478 sayH559, “His lovingkindnessH2617 is everlastingH5769.”3OhH4994 let the 4houseH1004 of AaronH175 sayH559, “His lovingkindnessH2617 is everlastingH5769.”4OhH4994 let those 5who 6fearH3372 the LordH3068 sayH559, “His lovingkindnessH2617 is everlastingH5769.”

5From my 7distressH4712 I calledH7121 upon 8the LordH3050; 9The LordH3050 answeredH6030 me and 10set me in a largeH4800 placeH4800.6The LordH3068 is 11for me; I will 12not fearH3372; 13WhatH4100 can manH120 doH6213 to me?7The LordH3068 is for me 14among those who helpH5826 me; Therefore I will 15lookH7200 with satisfaction on those who hateH8130 me.8It is 16betterH2896 to takeH2620 refugeH2620 in the LordH3068 ThanH4480 to trustH982 in manH120.9It is 17betterH2896 to takeH2620 refugeH2620 in the LordH3068 ThanH4480 to trustH982 in princesH5081.

10AllH3605 nationsH1471 18surroundedH5437 me; In the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 I will surelyH3588 19cutH4135 them offH4135.11They 20surroundedH5437 me, yesH1571, they surroundedH5437 me; In the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 I will surelyH3588 cutH4135 them offH4135.12They surroundedH5437 me 21like beesH1682; They were extinguishedH1846 as a 22fireH784 of thornsH6975; In the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 I will surelyH3588 cutH4135 them offH4135.13You 23pushedH1760 me violentlyH1760 so that I 24was fallingH5307, But the LordH3068 25helpedH5826 me.142627The LordH3050 is my strengthH5797 and songH2172, And He has becomeH1961 28my salvationH3444.

15The soundH6963 of 29joyfulH7440 shoutingH7440 and salvationH3444 is in the tentsH168 of the righteousH6662; The 30rightH3225 handH3225 of the LordH3068 doesH6213 valiantlyH2428.16The 31rightH3225 handH3225 of the LordH3068 is exaltedH7311; The rightH3225 handH3225 of the LordH3068 doesH6213 valiantlyH2428.17I 32will not dieH4191, but liveH2421, And 33tellH5608 of the worksH4639 of 34the LordH3050.1835The LordH3050 has 36disciplinedH3256 me severelyH3256, But He has 37not givenH5414 me over to deathH4194.

1938OpenH6605 to me the gatesH8179 of righteousnessH6664; I shall enterH935 through them, I shall giveH3034 thanksH3034 to 39the LordH3050.20ThisH2088 is the gateH8179 of the LordH3068; The 40righteousH6662 will enterH935 through it.21I shall giveH3034 thanksH3034 to You, for You have 41answeredH6030 me, And You have 42becomeH1961 my salvationH3444.

22The 43stoneH68 which the buildersH1129 rejectedH3988 Has becomeH1961 the chiefH7218 cornerH6438 stone.23ThisH2088 is 44the Lord’sH3068 doingH4480H854; It is marvelousH6381 in our eyesH5869.24ThisH2088 is the dayH3117 which the LordH3068 has madeH6213; Let us 45rejoiceH1523 and be gladH8055 in it.25OH577 LordH3068, 46do saveH3467, we beseechH577 You; OH577 LordH3068, we beseechH577 You, do sendH6743 47prosperityH6743!2648BlessedH1288 is the one who comesH935 in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068; We have 49blessedH1288 you from the houseH1004 of the LordH3068.2750The LordH3068 is GodH410, and He has givenH215 us 51lightH215; BindH631 the festivalH2282 sacrificeH2282 with cordsH5688 52to the 53hornsH7161 of the altarH4196.2854You are my GodH410, and I giveH3034 thanksH3034 to You; You are my GodH430, 55I extolH7311 You.2956GiveH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068, for He is goodH2896; For His lovingkindnessH2617 is everlastingH5769.
