Psalms 106:28-46
28They 1joinedH6775 themselves also to 2Baal-peorH1187, And ateH398 3sacrificesH2077 offered to the deadH4191.29Thus they 4provokedH3707 Him to angerH3707 with their deedsH4611, And the plagueH4046 brokeH6555 out among them.30Then PhinehasH6372 5stoodH5975 up and interposedH6419, And so the 6plagueH4046 was stayedH6113.31And it was 7reckonedH2803 to him for righteousnessH6666, To allH1755 generationsH1755 foreverH5704H5769.
32They also 8provokedH7107 Him to wrathH7107 at the watersH4325 of 9MeribahH4809, So that it 10wentH7489 hardH7489 with MosesH4872 on their accountH5668;33BecauseH3588 they 11were rebelliousH4784 againstH854 12His SpiritH7307, He spokeH981 rashlyH981 with his lipsH8193.
34They 13did not destroyH8045 the peoplesH5971, As 14the LordH3068 commandedH559 them,35But 15they mingledH6148 with the nationsH1471 And learnedH3925 their 16practicesH4639,36And 17servedH5647 their idolsH6091, 18Which becameH1961 a snareH4170 to them.37They even 19sacrificedH2076 their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 to the 20demonsH7700,38And shedH8210 21innocentH5355 bloodH1818, The bloodH1818 of their 22sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323, WhomH834 they sacrificedH2076 to the idolsH6091 of CanaanH3667; And the landH776 was 23pollutedH2610 with the bloodH1818.39Thus they becameH2930 24uncleanH2930 in their 25practicesH4639, And 26playedH2181 the harlotH2181 in their deedsH4611.
40Therefore the 27angerH639 of the LordH3068 was kindledH2734 against His peopleH5971 And He 28abhorredH8581 His 2930inheritanceH5159.41Then 31He gaveH5414 them into the handH3027 of the 32nationsH1471, And thoseH1992 who hatedH8130 them ruledH4910 over them.42Their enemiesH340 also 33oppressedH3905 them, And they were subduedH3665 underH8478 their 34powerH3027.43ManyH7227 timesH6471 He would 35deliverH5337 them; They, however, were rebelliousH4784 in their 36counselH6098, And so 37sankH4355 downH4355 in their iniquityH5771.
44Nevertheless He lookedH7200 upon their distressH6862 When He 38heardH8085 their cryH7440;45And He 39rememberedH2142 His covenantH1285 for their sake, And 4041relentedH5162 42according to the greatnessH7230 of His lovingkindnessH2617.46He also madeH5414 them 43objects of compassionH7356 In the presenceH6440 of allH3605 their captorsH7617.
