Frogs over the Land
11Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “GoH935 to PharaohH6547 and sayH559 to him, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, “2LetH7971 My peopleH5971 goH7971, that they may serveH5647 Me. 2But ifH518 you refuseH3986 to letH7971 them goH7971, beholdH2009, I will smiteH5062 your wholeH3605 territoryH1366 with frogsH6854. 3The NileH2975 will 3swarmH8317 with frogsH6854, which will comeH5927 up and goH935 into your houseH1004 and into your bedroomH2315H4904 and on your bedH4296, and into the housesH1004 of your servantsH5650 and on your peopleH5971, and into your ovensH8574 and into your kneadingH4863 bowlsH4863. 4So the frogsH6854 will comeH5927 up on you and your peopleH5971 and allH3605 your servantsH5650.”’” 54Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “SayH559 to AaronH175, ‘5StretchH5186 out your handH3027 with your staffH4294 overH5921 the riversH5104, overH5921 the 6streamsH2975 and overH5921 the poolsH98, and make frogsH6854 comeH5927 up on the landH776 of EgyptH4714.’” 6So AaronH175 stretchedH5186 out his handH3027 overH5921 the watersH4325 of EgyptH4714, and the 78frogsH6854 cameH5927 up and coveredH3680 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 79The 10magiciansH2748 didH6213 11the sameH3651 with their secretH3909 artsH3909, 12making frogsH6854 comeH5927 up on the landH776 of EgyptH4714.
8Then PharaohH6547 13calledH7121 for MosesH4872 and AaronH175 and saidH559, “14EntreatH6279 the LordH3068 that He removeH5493 the frogsH6854 from me and from my peopleH5971; and 15I will letH7971 the peopleH5971 goH7971, that they may sacrificeH2076 to the LordH3068.” 9MosesH4872 saidH559 to PharaohH6547, “16The honorH6286 is yours to tell me: whenH4970 shall I entreatH6279 for you and your servantsH5650 and your peopleH5971, that the frogsH6854 be 17destroyedH3772 from you and your housesH1004, that they may be leftH7604 onlyH7534 in the NileH2975?”
10Then he saidH559, “TomorrowH4279.” So he saidH559, “May it be according to your wordH1697, that you may knowH3045 that thereH369 is 18noH369 oneH369 like the LordH3068 our GodH430. 11The 19frogsH6854 will departH5493 from you and your housesH1004 and your servantsH5650 and your peopleH5971; they will be leftH7604 onlyH7534 in the NileH2975.” 12Then MosesH4872 and AaronH175 wentH3318 out from PharaohH6547, and 20MosesH4872 criedH6817 to the LordH3068 concerningH5921H1697 the frogsH6854 whichH834 He had 21inflictedH7760 upon PharaohH6547. 13The LordH3068 didH6213 according to the wordH1697 of MosesH4872, and the frogsH6854 diedH4191 out of the housesH1004, the courtsH2691, and the fieldsH7704. 14So they piledH6651 them in heapsH2563, and the landH776 22becameH887 foulH887. 15But when PharaohH6547 sawH7200 that there was reliefH7309, he 23hardenedH3513 his heartH3820 and 24did not listenH8085 to them, as the LordH3068 had saidH1696.
The Plague of Insects
16Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “SayH559 to AaronH175, ‘StretchH5186 out your staffH4294 and strikeH5221 the dustH6083 of the earthH776, that it may becomeH1961 25gnatsH3654 through allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.’” 17They didH6213 soH3651; and AaronH175 stretchedH5186 out his handH3027 with his staffH4294, and struckH5221 the dustH6083 of the earthH776, and there were 26gnatsH3654 on manH120 and beastH929. AllH3605 the dustH6083 of the earthH776 becameH1961 2728gnatsH3654 through allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 18The 29magiciansH2748 triedH6213 with their secretH3909 artsH3909 to bringH3318 forthH3318 30gnatsH3654, but 31they couldH3201 not; so there were 32gnatsH3654 on manH120 and beastH929. 19Then the 33magiciansH2748 saidH559 to PharaohH6547, “34ThisH1931 is the fingerH676 of GodH430.” But Pharaoh’sH6547 heartH3820 was 35hardenedH2388, and he did not listenH8085 to them, as the LordH3068 had saidH1696.
20Now the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “36RiseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242 and presentH3320 yourselfH3320 beforeH6440 PharaohH6547, 37as 38he comesH3318 out to the waterH4325, and sayH559 to him, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, “39LetH7971 My peopleH5971 goH7971, that they may serveH5647 Me. 21For ifH518 you do not letH7971 My peopleH5971 goH7971, beholdH2009, I will sendH7971 swarmsH6157 of flies on you and on your servantsH5650 and on your peopleH5971 and into your housesH1004; and the housesH1004 of the EgyptiansH4714 will be fullH4390 of swarmsH6157 of flies, and alsoH1571 the groundH127 on whichH834 they dwell. 2240But on that dayH3117 I will setH6395 apartH6395 the landH776 of GoshenH1657, whereH834 My peopleH5971 are 41livingH5975, so that noH1115 swarmsH6157 of flies will be thereH8033, in orderH4616 that you may knowH3045 that 4243I, the LordH3068, am in the midstH7130 of the landH776. 23I will 44putH7760 a divisionH6304 betweenH996 My peopleH5971 and your peopleH5971. TomorrowH4279 thisH2088 signH226 will occurH1961.”’” 24Then the LordH3068 didH6213 soH3651. And there cameH935 45greatH3515 swarmsH6157 of flies into the houseH1004 of PharaohH6547 and the housesH1004 of his servantsH5650 and the landH776 was 46laidH7843 wasteH7843 becauseH4480H6440 of the swarmsH6157 of flies in allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.
25PharaohH6547 47calledH7121 for MosesH4872 and AaronH175 and saidH559, “48GoH1980, sacrificeH2076 to your GodH430 within the landH776.” 26But MosesH4872 saidH559, “It is not rightH3559 to doH6213 soH3651, for we will sacrificeH2076 to the LordH3068 our GodH430 49what is 50an abominationH8441 to the EgyptiansH4714. IfH2005 we sacrificeH2076 51what is an abominationH8441 to the EgyptiansH4714 before their eyesH5869, will they not then stoneH5619 us? 27We must goH1980 a 52threeH7969 days’H3117 journeyH1870 into the wildernessH4057 and sacrificeH2076 to the LordH3068 our GodH430 as He 53commandsH559 us.” 28PharaohH6547 saidH559, “54I will letH7971 you goH7971, that you may sacrificeH2076 to the LordH3068 your GodH430 in the wildernessH4057; onlyH7534 you shall not goH1980 very farH7368 away. 55MakeH6279 supplicationH6279 for me.” 29Then MosesH4872 saidH559, “BeholdH2009, I am goingH3318 out from you, and I shall makeH6279 supplicationH6279 to the LordH3068 that the swarmsH6157 of flies may departH5493 from PharaohH6547, from his servantsH5650, and from his peopleH5971 tomorrowH4279; onlyH7534 do not let PharaohH6547 56dealH8524 deceitfullyH8524 againH3254 in not lettingH7971 the peopleH5971 goH7971 to sacrificeH2076 to the LordH3068.”
30So 57MosesH4872 wentH3318 out from PharaohH6547 and madeH6279 supplicationH6279 to the LordH3068. 31The LordH3068 didH6213 58as MosesH4872 askedH1697, and removedH5493 the swarmsH6157 of flies from PharaohH6547, from his servantsH5650 and from his peopleH5971; not oneH259 remainedH7604. 32But PharaohH6547 59hardenedH3513 his heartH3820 thisH2088 timeH6471 alsoH1571, and 60he did not letH7971 the peopleH5971 goH7971.
