Exodus 8
Revised Version 1895
1And the LORDH3068 spake unto MosesH4872, GoH5927 in unto Pharaoh, and sayH559 unto him, Thus saith the LORDH3068, LetH5186 my peopleH776 goH5927, that they may serve meH413. 2And if thou refuse to letH5186 them goH5927, behold, I will smite allH5927 thy bordersH3027 with frogsH6854: 3and the riverH776 shall swarm with frogsH6854, whichH6854 shall goH5927 upH5927 and comeH5927 intoH5921 thine house, and intoH5921 thy bedchamber, and uponH5921 thy bed, and intoH5921 the house of thy servants, and uponH5921 thy peopleH776, and intoH5921 thine ovens, and intoH5921 thy kneadingtroughs: 4and the frogsH6854 shall come upH853 bothH4480 uponH7121 thee, and uponH7121 thy peopleH5971, and uponH7121 allH4480 thy servants. 5And the LORD saidH559 unto MosesH4872, SayH559 unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the riversH2975, over the streamsH2975, and over the pools, and cause frogsH6854 to come upH5921 uponH5921 the land of Egypt. 6And Aaron stretched outH3045 his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs cameH559 up, and covered the land of Egypt. 7And the magicians didH7535 in like manner with their enchantments, and brought upH4480 frogsH6854 upon the land of Egypt. 8Then PharaohH6547 calledH6817 for MosesH4872 and AaronH175, and saidH413, Entreat the LORDH3068, that he takeH3318 awayH3318 the frogsH6854 from meH413, and from my peopleH834; and I will letH7760 the peopleH834 goH3318, that they may sacrifice unto the LORDH3068. 9And MosesH4872 saidH1697 unto Pharaoh, Have thou this glory over meH4480: againstH4480 whatH1697 time shall I entreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, that the frogsH6854 be destroyed from thee and thy housesH1004, and remain in the river only? 10And he said, Against tomorrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God. 11And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy peopleH834; they shall remainH1961 in the riverH3588 only. 12And MosesH4872 and AaronH175 wentH413 outH5186 from Pharaoh: and MosesH4872 cried unto the LORDH3068 concerning the frogs which he had broughtH1961 uponH1961 Pharaoh. 13And the LORD didH6213 accordingH3027 to the word of Moses; and the frogs died outH5186 of the houses, outH5186 of the courts, and outH5186 of the fields. 14And they gathered them together in heaps: and the land stank. 15But when PharaohH6547 saw that there was respite, he hardenedH2388 his heartH3820, and hearkened notH3808 unto them; as the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696. 16And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, SayH559 unto Aaron, StretchH7971 outH3318 thy rod, and smite the dust of the earth, that it may becomeH5647 lice throughoutH413 allH2009 the landH6440 of Egypt. 17And they didH834 soH7971; and Aaron stretchedH7971 outH7971 his hand with his rod, and smote the dustH127 of the earthH127, and there were lice uponH5921 manH369, and uponH5921 beast; allH1571 the dustH127 of the earthH127 became lice throughoutH5921 allH1571 the landH127 of EgyptH4713. 18And the magicians didH834 soH4616 with their enchantments to bringH1961 forthH3045 lice, but they couldH5971 notH1115: and there were lice uponH5921 man, and uponH5921 beast. 19Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened notH2088 unto them; as the LORD had spoken. 20And the LORDH3068 saidH3651 unto Moses, Rise upH935 early in the morning, and standH935 beforeH6440 PharaohH6547; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, ThusH3651 saith the LORDH3068, LetH3651 my peopleH776 goH935, that they may serveH6440 meH6440. 21Else, if thou wilt notH776 let my peopleH776 go, behold, I will send swarms of flies uponH7121 thee, and uponH7121 thy servants, and uponH7121 thy peopleH776, and intoH413 thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the groundH776 whereon they are. 22And I will sever in that dayH4872 the land of Goshen, in whichH5869 my peopleH3808 dwell, that noH3808 swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORDH3068 in the midst of the earth. 23And I will put a division between my peopleH834 and thy peopleH834: by tomorrow shall this sign be. 24And the LORDH3068 didH3808 soH7971; and there cameH559 grievous swarms of flies intoH6547 the house of PharaohH6547, and intoH6547 his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies. 25And PharaohH6547 calledH559 for MosesH4872 and for Aaron, and saidH559, GoH3318 ye, sacrificeH2076 to your GodH3068 in the land. 26And MosesH4872 saidH413, It is not meetH3318 soH3318 to doH3318; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORDH3068 our GodH3068: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians beforeH413 their eyes, and will they not stone usH413? 27WeH1697 will goH5493 three days’ journey intoH5493 the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORDH3068 our GodH3068, as he shall commandH1697 usH6213. 28And PharaohH6547 said, I will letH7971 youH7971 goH7971, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your GodH3808 in the wilderness; onlyH1571 ye shall notH3808 goH7971 veryH1571 far awayH7971: entreat for meH7971. 29And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will entreat the LORD that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow: only let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD. 30And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and entreated the LORD. 31And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one. 32And Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let the people go.
