Encouragement of Timothy’s Visit

1ThereforeG1352 1when we could endureG4722 it noG3371 longerG3371, we thoughtG2106 it bestG2106 to be leftG2641 behindG2641 at 2AthensG116 aloneG3441, 2and we sentG3992 3TimothyG5095, our brotherG80 and God’sG2316 fellowG4904 workerG4904 in the gospelG2098 of ChristG5547, to strengthenG4741 and encourageG3870 you as to your faithG4102, 3so that noG3367 oneG3367 would be 4disturbedG4525 by theseG3778 afflictionsG2347; for you yourselvesG846 knowG3609 that 5we have been destinedG2749 for thisG3778. 4For indeedG2532 whenG3753 we were with you, we kept tellingG4302 you in advanceG4302 that we were goingG3195 to sufferG2346 afflictionG2346; 67and soG2531 it cameG1096 to passG1096, 8as you knowG3609. 5For thisG3778 reasonG1223, 9when I could endureG4722 it noG3371 longerG3371, I alsoG2532 10sentG3992 to 11findG1097 out about your faithG4102, for fearG3381 that 12the tempterG3985 might have temptedG3985 you, and 13our laborG2873 would be in vainG2756.

6But nowG737 that 14TimothyG5095 has comeG2064 to us from you, and has broughtG2097 us goodG2097 newsG2097 of 15your faithG4102 and loveG26, and that you alwaysG3842 16thinkG2192G3417 kindlyG18 of us, longingG1971 to seeG3708 us justG2509 as we alsoG2532 long to see you, 7for thisG3778 reasonG1223, brethrenG80, in allG3956 our distressG318 and afflictionG2347 we were comfortedG3870 aboutG1909 you throughG1223 your faithG4102; 8for nowG3568 we really liveG2198, ifG1437 you 17standG4739 firmG4739 in the LordG2962. 9For 18whatG5101 thanksG2169 canG1410 we renderG467 to GodG2316 for you in returnG467 for allG3956 the joyG5479 with whichG3739 we rejoiceG5463 beforeG1715 our GodG2316 on your accountG1223, 10as we 19nightG3571 and dayG2250 keep prayingG1189 mostG5238 earnestlyG5238 that we may 20seeG3708 your faceG4383, and may 21completeG2675 whatG5303 is lackingG5303 in your faithG4102?

1122NowG1161 may 23our GodG2316 and FatherG3962 24HimselfG846 and JesusG2424 our LordG2962 25directG2720 our wayG3598 to you; 12and may the LordG2962 causeG4121G4052 you to increaseG4121 and 26aboundG4052 in loveG26 for oneG240 anotherG240, and for allG3956 peopleG3956, justG2509 as we alsoG2532 do for you; 13soG1519 that He may 27establishG4741 your heartsG2588 28withoutG273 blameG273 in holinessG42 beforeG1715 29our GodG2316 and FatherG3962 at the 3031comingG3952 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 32with allG3956 His 33saintsG40.
