Luke 12:13-22

13SomeoneτιςtisG5100in the crowdὄχλουochlouG3793saidG3004to Him, “Teacherδιδάσκαλε,didaskaleG1320,tellG3004my brotherἀδελφῷadelphōG80to divideμερίσασθαιmerisasthaiG3307the familyinheritanceκληρονομίαν.klēronomianG2817with me.”

14But He saidG3004to him, “Manἄνθρωπε,anthrōpeG444,whoτίςtisG5101appointedκατέστησενkatestēsenG2525Me a judgeκριτὴνkritēnG2923orἢēG2228arbitratorμεριστὴνmeristēnG3312overἐφ᾽eph᾽G1909you?”

15ThenκαὶkaiG2532He saidG3004to them, “BewareὁρᾶτεhorateG3708,and be on your guardφυλάσσεσθεphulassestheG5442againstἀπὸapoG575everyG3956formG3956of greedπλεονεξίας,pleonexiasG4124; for not evenwhenἐνenG1722oneτινὶtiniG5100hasG4052an abundanceG4052does his lifeζωὴzōēG2222consistἐστινestinG1510of his possessionsὑπαρχόντωνhuparchontōnG5225.”

16And He toldG3004them a parableπαραβολὴνparabolēnG3850,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“The landχώρα.chōraG5561of a richπλουσίουplousiouG4145manἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444was veryG2164productiveG2164.

17And he began reasoningδιελογίζετοdielogizetoG1260to himselfἑαυτῷhe'autōG1438,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, ‘WhatτίtiG5101shall I doποιήσωpoiēsōG4160,sinceὅτιhotiG3754I haveἔχωechōG2192noοὐκoukG3756placeποῦpouG4226to storeσυνάξωsunaxōG4863my cropsκαρπούςkarpousG2590?’

18ThenG2532he saidG3004, ‘ThisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is what I will doποιήσω·poiēsōG4160:I will tearG2507downG2507my barnsἀποθήκαςapothēkasG596and buildοἰκοδομήσωoikodomēsōG3618largerG3173onesG3173,and thereἐκεῖekeiG1563I will storeσυνάξωsunaxōG4863allπάνταpantaG3956my grainσῖτονsitonG4621and my goodsἀγαθάagathaG18.

19And I will sayG3004to my soulψυχῇpsuchēaG5590, “Soulψυχή,psuchēG5590,you haveἔχειςecheisG2192manyπολλὰpollaG4183goodsἀγαθὰagathaG18laidκείμεναkeimenaG2749up for manyπολλά.pollaG4183yearsἔτηetēG2094to come;takeG373your easeG373,eatG2068,drinkπίε,pieG4095andbe merryεὐφραίνου.euphrainouG2165.”’

20But Godθεός·theosG2316saidG3004to him, ‘You foolἄφρων,aphrōnG878!ThisταύτῃtautēG3778verynightνυκτὶnuktiG3571your soulψυχήνpsuchēnG5590is requiredἀπαιτοῦσινapaitousinG523of you; and nowwhoτίνιtiniG5101will own whatἃhaG3739you have preparedἡτοίμασας,hētoimasasG2090?’

21SoοὕτωςhoutōsG3779is the man whostoresG2343up treasureG2343for himselfG848,and is not richπλουτῶν.ploutōnG4147towardεἰςeisG1519GodθεὸνtheonG2316.”

22And He saidλέγωlegōG3004to His disciplesμαθητὰςmathētasG3101, “For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778reasonδιὰdiaG1223I sayG3004to you,do not worryμεριμνᾶτεmerimnateG3309aboutG3588yourlifeψυχῇpsuchēaG5590, as towhatτίtiG5101you will eatG2068;norμηδὲmēdeG3366for your bodyσώματιsōmatiG4983, as towhatτίtiG5101you will putἐνδύσησθε.endusēstheG1746on.
