2 Samuel 4:1-8
1And when Saul's sonH1121 heardH8085 that AbnerH74 was deadH4191 in HebronH2275, his handsH3027 were enfeebled, and all IsraelH3478 was troubled.
2And Saul's sonH1121 had twoH8147 menH376, captains of bandsH1416: the nameH8034 of the oneH259 was BaanahH1196, and the nameH8034 of the other RechabH7394, the sonsH1121 of RimmonH7417 the BeerothiteH886, of the children of BenjaminH1144; for BeerothH881 alsoH1571 was reckonedH2803 to BenjaminH1144.
3And the Beerothites had fledH1272 to GittaimH1664, and wereH1961 sojourners there until this dayH3117.
4And JonathanH3083 Saul's sonH1121 had a sonH1121 that was lame of [his] feetH7272. He was fiveH2568 yearsH8141 old when the newsH8052 cameH935 of SaulH7586 and JonathanH3083 out of Jizreel; and his nurseH539 tookH5375 him up and fledH5127. And it cameH935 to pass, as she made haste to fleeH5127, that he fellH5307, and becameH1961 lame. And his nameH8034 was MephiboshethH4648.
5And the sonsH1121 of RimmonH7417 the BeerothiteH886, RechabH7394 and BaanahH1196, wentH935 and cameH935 in about the heatH2527 of the dayH3117 into the houseH1004 of Ishbosheth, who was taking his noonday restH7901.
6And they cameH935 thither into the midstH8432 of the houseH1004, [as though] they would fetch wheatH2406; and they smote him in the bellyH2570; and RechabH7394 and BaanahH1196 his brotherH251 escapedH4422.
7They cameH935 into the houseH1004, as he layH7901 on his bedH4904 in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him; and they tookH3947 his headH7218, and wentH935 by the wayH1870 of the plainH6160 all nightH3915.
8And they broughtH935 the headH7218 of Ishbosheth to DavidH1732 in HebronH2275, and saidH559 to the kingH4428, Behold the headH7218 of Ishbosheth the sonH1121 of SaulH7586, thine enemyH341 who soughtH1245 thy lifeH5315; and Jehovah has givenH5414 to my lord the kingH4428 to be avenged this dayH3117 of SaulH7586 and of his seedH2233.
