Darby Bible
Samuel 19:32-39
And BarzillaiH1271 was very aged, eighty years old; and it was he that had maintained the kingH4428 while he abode at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man.
And the kingH4428 said to BarzillaiH1271, Pass thou over with me, and I will maintain thee with me in Jerusalem.
And BarzillaiH1271 saidH559 to the kingH4428, How many are the days of the years of my life, that I should go up with the kingH4428 to JerusalemH3389?
I am this dayH3117 eighty years old: can I discern between good and bad? can thy servant taste what I eat and what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? and whyH4100 should thy servant be yet a burden to my lord the kingH4428?
Thy servantH5650 will go a little way over the Jordan with the kingH4428; and whyH4100 should the kingH4428 recompense it to me with this reward?
Let thy servantH5650, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servantH5650 Chimham: let him go over with my lord the kingH4428; and do to him what seems good to thee.
And the kingH4428 said, Chimham shall goH7725 over with me, and I will do to him that which seems goodH2896 to thee; and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee.
And all the people went over the Jordan; and the kingH4428 went over; and the kingH4428 kissed Barzillai, and blessed him; and he returned to his ownH5869 place.
