3and they playedוַתִּזְנֶ֣ינָהva.tiz.Nei.nahH2181in Egyptבְמִצְרַ֔יִםve.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,prostituting themselvesזָנ֑וּza.NuH2181from their youthבִּנְעוּרֵיהֶ֖ןbin.'u.rei.HenH5271.Their breastsשָׁ֚מָּה שְׁדֵיהֶ֔ןSha.mah she.dei.HenH7699 H8033were fondledמֹעֲכ֣וּmo.'a.KhuH4600thereוְשָׁ֣םve.ShamH8033,and their virginבְּתוּלֵיהֶֽן׃be.tu.lei.HenH1331bosomsדַּדֵּ֖יda.DeiH1717caressedעִשּׂ֔וּ'i.SuH6213.

4The olderהַגְּדוֹלָה֙ha.ge.do.LahH1419was namedוּשְׁמוֹתָ֗ןu.she.mo.TanH8034Oholahאָהֳלָ֤ה'o.ho.LahH170,and her sisterאֲחוֹתָ֔הּ'a.cho.TahH269was namedOholibahוְאָהֳלִיבָ֣הve.'o.ho.li.VahH172.They becameוַתִּֽהְיֶ֣ינָהva.tih.Yei.nahH1961Mineand gave birth toוַתֵּלַ֖דְנָהva.te.Lad.nahH3205sonsבָּנִ֣יםba.NimH1121and daughtersוּבָנ֑וֹתu.va.NotH1323. Asfor their identitiesוּשְׁמוֹתָ֕ןu.she.mo.TanH8034,Oholahאָהֳלָ֔ה'o.ho.LahH170isSamariaשֹׁמְר֣וֹןsho.me.RonH8111,and Oholibahאָהֳלִיבָֽה׃'o.ho.li.VahH172is Jerusalemוִירוּשָׁלִַ֖םvi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

5Oholahאָהֳלָ֖ה'o.ho.LahH170prostituted herselfוַתִּ֥זֶןva.Ti.zenH2181while she was still Mineתַּחְתָּ֑יtach.TaiH8478.She lustedוַתַּעְגַּב֙va.ta'.GavH5689afterעַֽל־'al-H5921her loversמְאַהֲבֶ֔יהָ אֶל־me.'a.ha.Vei.ha 'el-H157 H413,the Assyriansאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804—warriorsקְרוֹבִֽים׃ke.ro.VimH7138

7She offeredוַתִּתֵּ֤ןva.ti.TenH5414sexual favorsתַּזְנוּתֶ֙יהָ֙taz.nu.Tei.haH8457to allעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם'a.lei.HemH5921 H3605the eliteמִבְחַ֥ר בְּנֵֽי־miv.Char be.nei-H4005 H1121of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804.She defiled herselfנִטְמָֽאָה׃nit.Ma.'ahH2930with allH3605the idolsגִּלּוּלֵיהֶ֖םgi.lu.lei.HemH1544of those for whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834she lustedעָֽגְבָ֛ה'a.ge.VahH5689.

8וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853She did notלֹ֣אlo'H3808give upעָזָ֔בָה'a.Za.vahH5800the prostitutionתַּזְנוּתֶ֤יהָtaz.nu.Tei.haH8457she beganin Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,whenכִּ֤יkiH3588men sleptשָׁכְב֣וּsha.khe.VuH7901with herאוֹתָהּ֙'o.TahH853in her youthבִנְעוּרֶ֔יהָ וְהֵ֥מָּהvin.'u.Rei.ha ve.He.mahH5271 H1992,caressedעִשּׂ֖וּ'i.SuH6213her virginבְתוּלֶ֑יהָve.tu.Lei.haH1331bosomדַּדֵּ֣יda.DeiH1717,and poured outוַיִּשְׁפְּכ֥וּvai.yish.pe.KhuH8210their lustתַזְנוּתָ֖םtaz.nu.TamH8457upon herעָלֶֽיהָ׃'a.Lei.haH5921.

9Thereforeלָכֵ֥ןla.KhenH3651I delivered herנְתַתִּ֖יהָne.ta.Ti.haH5414into the handsבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of her loversמְאַֽהֲבֶ֑יהָ בְּיַד֙me.'a.ha.Vei.ha be.YadH157 H3027,the Assyriansבְּנֵ֣י אַשּׁ֔וּרbe.Nei 'a.ShurH1121 H804for whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834she lustedעָגְבָ֖ה'a.ge.VahH5689עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃'a.lei.HemH5921.

10Theyהֵמָּה֮he.MahH1992exposedגִּלּ֣וּgi.LuH1540her nakednessעֶרְוָתָהּ֒'er.va.TahH6172,seizedלָקָ֔חוּla.Ka.chuH3947וְאוֹתָ֖הּve.'o.TahH853her sonsבָּנֶ֤יהָba.Nei.haH1121and daughtersוּבְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙u.ve.no.Tei.haH1323,and put herהָרָ֑גוּha.Ra.guH2026to the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719.Thus she becameוַתְּהִי־va.te.hi-H1961a bywordשֵׁם֙shemH8034among womenלַנָּשִׁ֔יםla.na.ShimH802,and they executedעָ֥שׂוּ'A.suH6213judgmentוּשְׁפוּטִ֖יםu.she.fu.TimH8196against her.

11Her sisterאֲחוֹתָ֣הּ'a.cho.TahH269Oholibahאָהֳלִיבָ֔ה'o.ho.li.VahH172sawוַתֵּ֙רֶא֙va.Te.re'H7200this,yet in her lustעַגְבָתָ֖הּ'ag.va.TahH5691מִמֶּ֑נָּהmi.Me.nahH4480andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853prostitutionתַּ֨זְנוּתֶ֔יהָ מִזְּנוּנֵ֖יtaz.nu.Tei.ha mi.ze.nu.NeiH8457 H2183she was more depravedוַתַּשְׁחֵ֥תva.tash.ChetH7843than her sisterאֲחוֹתָֽהּ׃'a.cho.TahH269.

12She too lustedעָגָ֜בָה'a.Ga.vahH5689afterאֶל־'el-H413the Assyriansבְּנֵי֩ אַשּׁ֨וּרbe.Nei 'a.ShurH1121 H804—governorsפַּח֨וֹתpa.ChotH6346and commandersוּסְגָנִ֤יםu.se.ga.NimH5461,warriorsקְרֹבִים֙ke.ro.VimH7138dressedלְבֻשֵׁ֣יle.vu.SheiH3847in splendorמִכְל֔וֹלmikh.LolH4358,horsemenפָּרָשִׁ֖יםpa.ra.ShimH6571riding onרֹכְבֵ֣יro.khe.VeiH7392steedsסוּסִ֑יםsu.SimH5483,allכֻּלָּֽם׃ku.LamH3605desirableחֶ֖מֶדChe.medH2531young menבַּח֥וּרֵיba.Chu.reiH970.

13And I sawוָאֵ֖רֶאva.'E.re'H7200thatכִּ֣יkiH3588she too had defiled herselfנִטְמָ֑אָהnit.Ma.'ahH2930;both of themלִשְׁתֵּיהֶֽן׃lish.tei.HenH8147had taken the sameאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259pathדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870.

14But Oholibah carriedוַתּ֖וֹסֶף אֶל־va.To.sef 'el-H3254 H413her prostitution even furtherתַּזְנוּתֶ֑יהָtaz.nu.Tei.haH8457.She sawוַתֵּ֗רֶאva.Te.re'H7200the menאַנְשֵׁי֙'an.SheiH582portrayedמְחֻקֶּ֣הme.chu.KehH2707onעַל־'al-H5921the wallהַקִּ֔ירha.KirH7023,imagesצַלְמֵ֣יtzal.MeiH6754of the Chaldeansכַשְׂדִּ֔יםkhas.di.yimH3778,engravedחֲקֻקִ֖יםcha.ku.KimH2710in vermilionבַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃ba.sha.SharH8350,

16At the sight of themלְמַרְאֵ֣ה עֵינֶ֑יהָle.mar.'Eh 'ei.Nei.haH4758 H5869,she lustedוַתַּעְגְּבָ֥הva.ta'.gavhH5689for themעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921and sentוַתִּשְׁלַ֧חva.tish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֛יםmal.'a.KhimH4397to themאֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH413in Chaldeaכַּשְׂדִּֽימָה׃kas.Di.mahH3778.

17Then the Babyloniansבְנֵֽי־ בָבֶל֙ve.nei- va.VelH1121 H894cameוַיָּבֹ֨אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to herאֵלֶ֤יהָ'e.Lei.haH413,to the bedלְמִשְׁכַּ֣בle.mish.KavH4904of loveדֹּדִ֔יםdo.DimH1730,and in their lustבְּתַזְנוּתָ֑םbe.taz.nu.TamH8457they defiledוַיְטַמְּא֥וּvay.ta.me.'UH2930herאוֹתָ֖הּ'o.TahH853.But after she had been defiledוַתִּ֨טְמָא־va.Tit.ma'-H2930by them,sheנַפְשָׁ֖הּnaf.ShahH5315turned awayin disgustוַתֵּ֥קַעva.Te.ka'H3363.

18When Oholibah openlyוַתְּגַל֙va.te.GalH1540prostituted herselfתַּזְנוּתֶ֔יהָtaz.nu.Tei.haH8457and exposedוַתְּגַ֖לva.te.GalH1540אֶת־'et-H853her nakednessעֶרְוָתָ֑הּ'er.va.TahH6172,Iנַפְשִׁי֙naf.ShiH5315turned away from herמֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָme.'a.Lei.haH5921in disgustוַתֵּ֤קַעva.Te.ka'H3363,just asכַּאֲשֶׁ֛רka.'a.SherH834Iנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315had turned awayנָקְעָ֥הna.ke.'AhH5361fromמֵעַ֥לme.'AlH5921her sisterאֲחוֹתָֽהּ׃'a.cho.TahH269.

19Yet she multipliedוַתַּרְבֶּ֖הva.tar.BehH7235אֶת־'et-H853her promiscuityתַּזְנוּתֶ֑יהָtaz.nu.Tei.haH8457,rememberingלִזְכֹּר֙liz.KorH2142אֶת־'et-H853the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of her youthנְעוּרֶ֔יהָne.'u.Rei.haH5271,whenאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834she had prostituted herselfזָנְתָ֖הza.ne.TahH2181in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714

20and lustedוַֽתַּעְגְּבָ֔הva.ta'.ge.VahH5689afterעַ֖ל'alH5921their loversפִּֽלַגְשֵׁיהֶ֑םpi.lag.shei.HemH6370,whoseאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834genitalsבְּשַׂר־be.sar-H1320were like thoseבְּשָׂרָ֔םbe.sa.RamH1320of donkeysחֲמוֹרִים֙cha.mo.RimH2543and whose emissionוְזִרְמַ֥תve.zir.MatH2231was like thatזִרְמָתָֽם׃zir.ma.TamH2231of stallionsסוּסִ֖יםsu.SimH5483.
