21But the childrenהַבָּנִ֗יםha.ba.NimH1121rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against Me.They did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808walkהָ֠לָכוּHa.la.khuH1980וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853in My statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֣יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708or carefullyשָׁמְר֜וּsha.me.RuH8104observeלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213אוֹתָ֗ם'o.TamH853My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֨י לֹא־mish.pa.Tai lo'-H4941 H3808—though the manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120whoאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834doesיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213these thingsאוֹתָ֤ם'o.TamH853will liveוָחַ֣יva.ChaiH2421by themאֶת־'et-H853—and they profanedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490My Sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676.So I resolvedוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559to pourלִשְׁפֹּ֧ךְlish.PokhH8210out My wrathחֲמָתִ֣יcha.ma.TiH2534upon themעֲלֵיהֶ֗ם'a.lei.HemH5921and ventלְכַלּ֥וֹתle.kha.LotH3615My angerאַפִּ֛י'a.PiH639against themin the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

22But I withheldוַהֲשִׁבֹ֙תִי֙va.ha.shi.Vo.tiH7725אֶת־'et-H853My handיָדִ֔יya.DiH3027and actedוָאַ֖עַשׂva.'A.'asH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of My nameשְׁמִ֑יshe.MiH8034,so that it would notלְבִלְתִּ֤יle.vil.TiH1115be profanedהֵחֵל֙he.ChelH2490in the eyesלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471in whoseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869I had brought them outהוֹצֵ֥אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318אוֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853.

23Howeverגַּם־gam-H1571,with an uplifted hand I sworeאֲנִ֗י נָשָׂ֧אתִי'a.Ni na.Sa.tiH589 H5375אֶת־'et-H853יָדִ֛יya.DiH3027to themin the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057that I would scatterלְהָפִ֤יץle.ha.FitzH6327themאֹתָם֙'o.TamH853among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֔םba.go.YimH1471and disperseוּלְזָר֥וֹתu.le.za.RotH2219themאוֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853throughout the landsבָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ba.'a.ra.TzotH776.

24Forיַ֜עַןYa.'anH3282they did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808practiceעָשׂוּ֙'a.SuH6213My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֤יmish.pa.TaiH4941,but they rejectedמָאָ֔סוּma.'A.suH3988וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853My statutesוְחֻקּוֹתַ֣יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708and profanedחִלֵּ֑לוּ וְאַחֲרֵי֙chi.Le.lu ve.'a.cha.ReiH2490 H310My Sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676,fixingהָי֖וּha.YuH1961their eyesעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃'ei.nei.HemH5869on the idolsגִּלּוּלֵ֣יgi.lu.LeiH1544of their fathersאֲבוֹתָ֔ם'a.vo.TamH1.

25Iאֲנִי֙'a.NiH589alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571gave themנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414overto statutesחֻקִּ֖יםchu.KimH2706that were notלֹ֣אlo'H3808goodטוֹבִ֑יםto.VimH2896and ordinancesוּמִ֨שְׁפָּטִ֔יםu.Mish.pa.TimH4941by whichthey could notלֹ֥אlo'H3808liveיִֽחְי֖וּyich.YuH2421.

28When I brought themוָאֲבִיאֵם֙va.'a.vi.'EmH935intoאֶל־'el-H413the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776thatאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834I sworeנָשָׂ֙אתִי֙na.Sa.tiH5375אֶת־'et-H853יָדִ֔יya.DiH3027to giveלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414אוֹתָ֖הּ'o.TahH853themand they sawוַיִּרְאוּ֩vai.yir.'UH7200anyכָל־khol-H3605highרָמָ֜ה וְכָל־ra.Mah ve.kholH7311 H3605hillגִּבְעָ֨הgiv.'AhH1389or leafyעָבֹ֗ת'a.VotH5687treeעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086,thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033they offeredוַיִּזְבְּחוּ־vai.yiz.be.chu-H2076their sacrificesזִבְחֵיהֶם֙ziv.chei.HemH2077,presentedוַיִּתְּנוּ־vai.yi.te.nu-H5414שָׁם֙shamH8033offeringsקָרְבָּנָ֔םka.re.ba.NamH7133that provoked Meכַּ֣עַסKa.'asH3708אֶת־'et-H853,sent upוַיָּשִׂ֣ימוּ שָׁ֗םvai.ya.Si.mu ShamH7760 H8033their fragrantנִיח֣וֹחֵיהֶ֔םni.Cho.chei.HemH5207incenseרֵ֚יחַRei.achH7381,and poured outוַיַּסִּ֥יכוּ שָׁ֖םvai.ya.Si.khu shamH5258 H8033אֶת־'et-H853their drink offeringsנִסְכֵּיהֶֽם׃nis.kei.HemH5262.

29So I asked themוָאֹמַ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔םva.'o.Mar 'a.le.HemH559 H413: ‘Whatמָ֣הmahH4100is this high placeהַבָּמָ֔הha.ba.MahH1116to whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834youאַתֶּ֥ם'a.TemH859goהַבָּאִ֖יםha.ba.'ImH935?’ (And toעַ֖ד'adH5704thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayשָׁ֑ם הַיּ֥וֹםSham hai.YomH3117 H8033it is calledוַיִּקָּרֵ֤א שְׁמָהּ֙vai.yi.ka.Re' she.MahH7121 H8034Bamahבָּמָ֔הba.MahH1117.)

33As surely asאָ֕נִי'A.niH589I liveחַי־chai-H2416,declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֑הYah.wehH3069אִם־'im-H518לֹ֠אlo'H3808,with a strongחֲזָקָ֜הcha.za.KahH2389handבְּיָ֨דbe.YadH3027,an outstretchedנְטוּיָ֛הne.tu.YahH5186armוּבִזְר֧וֹעַu.viz.Ro.a'H2220,and outpouredשְׁפוּכָ֖הshe.fu.KhahH8210wrathוּבְחֵמָ֥הu.ve.che.MahH2534I will ruleאֶמְל֥וֹךְ'em.LokhH4427over youעֲלֵיכֶֽם׃'a.lei.KhemH5921.

37I will make you passוְהַעֲבַרְתִּ֥יve.ha.'a.var.TiH5674אֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853underתַּ֣חַתTa.chatH8478the rodהַשָּׁ֑בֶטha.Sha.vetH7626and will bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935אֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853you into the bondבְּמָסֹ֥רֶתbe.ma.So.retH4562of the covenantהַבְּרִֽית׃ha.be.RitH1285.

38And I will purge youוּבָרוֹתִ֣יu.va.ro.TiH1305ofthose who rebelהַמֹּרְדִ֤יםha.mo.re.DimH4775and transgressוְהַפּֽוֹשְׁעִים֙ve.ha.po.she.'ImH6586against Me.I will bring them outאוֹצִ֣יא'o.Tzi'H3318אוֹתָ֔ם'o.TamH853of the landמֵאֶ֤רֶץme.'E.retzH776in which they dwellמְגֽוּרֵיהֶם֙me.gu.rei.HemH4033,but they will notלֹ֣אlo'H3808enterוְאֶל־ יָב֑וֹאve.'el- ya.Vo'H413 H935the landאַדְמַ֥ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.Then you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045thatכִּי־ki-H3588Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
