1Then drewH7126 near the daughtersH1323 of ZelophehadH6765, the sonH1121 of HepherH2660, the sonH1121 of GileadH1568, the sonH1121 of Machir, the sonH1121 of ManassehH4519, of the familiesH4940 of ManassehH4519 the sonH1121 of JosephH3130; and these are the namesH8034 of his daughtersH1323: MahlahH4244, NoahH5270, and HoglahH2295, and MilcahH4435, and TirzahH8656. 2And they stoodH5975 before MosesH4872, and before EleazarH499 the priestH3548, and before the princesH5387 and all the congregationH5712, at the doorH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, sayingH559, 3Our fatherH1 diedH4191 in the wildernessH4057, and he wasH1961 not among the companyH5712 of them that gatheredH3259 themselves togetherH3259 against Jehovah in the companyH5712 of KorahH7141: but he diedH4191 in his own sinH2399; and he had no sonsH1121. 4WhyH4100 should the nameH8034 of our fatherH1 be taken away from among his familyH4940, because he had no sonH1121? GiveH5414 unto us a possessionH272 among the brethren of our fatherH1. 5And MosesH4872 broughtH7126 their cause before Jehovah.

6And Jehovah spake unto MosesH4872, sayingH559, 7The daughtersH1323 of ZelophehadH6765 speakH1696 rightH3651: thou shalt surely giveH5414 them a possessionH272 of an inheritanceH5159 among their father’sH1 brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritanceH5159 of their fatherH1 to passH5674 unto them. 8And thou shalt speakH1696 unto the children of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, If a manH376 dieH4191, and have no sonH1121, then ye shall cause his inheritanceH5159 to passH5674 unto his daughterH1323. 9And if he have no daughterH1323, then ye shall giveH5414 his inheritanceH5159 unto his brethren. 10And if he have no brethren, then ye shall giveH5414 his inheritanceH5159 unto his father’sH1 brethren. 11And if his fatherH1 have no brethren, then ye shall giveH5414 his inheritanceH5159 unto his kinsman that is next to him of his familyH4940, and he shall possessH3423 it: and it shall beH1961 unto the children of IsraelH3478 a statuteH2708 and ordinanceH4941, as Jehovah commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

12And Jehovah saidH559 unto MosesH4872, Get thee up into this mountainH2022 of AbarimH5682, and behold the landH776 which I have givenH5414 unto the children of IsraelH3478. 13And whenH834 thou hast seenH7200 it, thou alsoH1571 shalt be gatheredH622 unto thy peopleH5971, as AaronH175 thy brotherH251 was gatheredH622; 14because ye rebelledH4784 against my word in the wildernessH4057 of ZinH6790, in the strifeH4808 of the congregationH5712, to sanctifyH6942 me at the watersH4325 before their eyesH5869. 15And MosesH4872 spake unto Jehovah, sayingH559, 16Let Jehovah, the GodH430 of the spiritsH7307 of all fleshH1320, appointH6485 a manH376 over the congregationH5712, 17who may goH3318 out before them, and who may comeH935 in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bringH935 them in; that the congregationH5712 of Jehovah beH1961 not as sheepH6629 which have no shepherdH7462. 18And Jehovah saidH559 unto MosesH4872, TakeH3947 thee JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, a manH376 in whom is the SpiritH7307, and lay thy handH3027 upon him; 19and setH5975 him before EleazarH499 the priestH3548, and before all the congregationH5712; and give him a charge in their sight. 20And thou shalt putH5414 of thine honor upon him, that all the congregationH5712 of the children of IsraelH3478 may obey. 21And he shall standH5975 before EleazarH499 the priestH3548, who shall inquire for him by the judgmentH4941 of the UrimH224 before Jehovah: at his word shall they goH3318 out, and at his word they shall comeH935 in, both he, and all the children of IsraelH3478 with him, even all the congregationH5712. 22And MosesH4872 did as Jehovah commandedH6680 him; and he tookH3947 JoshuaH3091, and setH5975 him before EleazarH499 the priestH3548, and before all the congregationH5712: 23and he laidH5564 his handsH3027 upon him, and gave him a charge, as Jehovah spake by MosesH4872.
