TheseH428 were the namesH8034 of his daughtersH1323: MahlahH4244, NoahH5270, HoglahH2295, MilcahH4435, and TirzahH8656. They approachedH7126 2the entranceH6607 to the TentH168 of MeetingH4150, stoodH5975 beforeH6440 MosesH4872H6440, EleazarH499 the priestH3548H6440, the leadersH5387, and the wholeH3605 congregationH5712, and saidH559, 3“Our fatherH1 diedH4191 in the wildernessH4057, but heH1931 wasH1961 notH3808 amongH8432 the followersH5712 of KorahH7141 who gathered togetherH3259 againstH5921 the LORDH3068H5712. 5So MosesH4872 broughtH7126 their caseH4941 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, 6and the LORDH3068H413 answeredH559 himH4872H559, 7“The daughtersH1323 of ZelophehadH6765 speakH1696 correctlyH3651. You certainly must giveH5414 them propertyH272 as an inheritanceH5159 amongH8432 their father’sH1 brothersH251 and transferH5674 theirH853 father’sH1 inheritanceH5159 to them.

8FurthermoreH413, you shall sayH1696H559 to the IsraelitesH1121H3478, ‘IfH3588 a manH376 diesH4191 and leaves noH369 sonH1121, you are to transferH5674 his inheritanceH5159 to his daughterH1323. 9IfH518 he has noH369 daughterH1323, giveH5414 his inheritanceH5159 to his brothersH251. 10IfH518 he has noH369 brothersH251, giveH5414 his inheritanceH5159 to his father’sH1 brothersH251. 11And ifH518 his fatherH1 has noH369 brothersH251, giveH5414 his inheritanceH5159 to the nextH7138H413 of kinH7607 from his clanH4940, that he may take possession of itH3423. Moses Requests a Successor

(Deuteronomy 3:23–29)

15So MosesH4872 appealedH1696 toH413 the LORDH3068H559, 16“May the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of the spiritsH7307 of allH3605 fleshH1320, appointH6485 a manH376 overH5921 the congregationH5712 17whoH834 will go outH3318 and come inH935 before themH6440, and whoH834 will lead them outH3318 and bring them inH935, so that the congregationH5712 of the LORDH3068 will notH3808 beH1961 like sheepH6629 withoutH369 a shepherdH7462.”

Joshua to Succeed Moses

(Deuteronomy 31:1–8)

18And the LORDH3068 repliedH559 toH413 MosesH4872, “TakeH3947 JoshuaH3091 sonH1121 of NunH5126, a man withH376 the SpiritH834H7307 in him, and layH5564 your handsH3027 on himH5921. 19Have him standH5975 beforeH6440 EleazarH499 the priestH3548H6440 and the wholeH3605 congregationH5712, and commissionH6680 himH853 in their sightH5869. 20ConferH5414 on himH5921 some of your authorityH1935, so thatH4616 the wholeH3605 congregationH5712H1121 of IsraelH3478 will obey himH8085. 21He shall standH5975 beforeH6440 EleazarH499 the priestH3548, who will seek counselH7592 for him before the LORDH3068 by the judgmentH4941 of the UrimH224.3 AtH5921 his commandH6310H6440, heH1931 and allH3605 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 with himH854—the entireH3605 congregationH5712—will go outH3318H5921H6310 and come inH935.”

22MosesH4872 didH6213 asH834 the LORDH3068 had commanded himH6680. He tookH3947 JoshuaH3091, had him standH5975 beforeH6440 EleazarH499 the priestH3548H6440 and the wholeH3605 congregationH5712, 23and laidH5564 his handsH3027 on himH5921 and commissioned himH6680, asH834 the LORDH3068 had instructedH1696 throughH3027 MosesH4872.
