25There aroseG1096 thereforeG3767 a questioning on the part of John’s disciplesG3101 with a JewG2453 about purifying. 26And they cameG2064 unto JohnG2491, and saidG3004 to him, RabbiG4461, he that wasG1510 with thee beyond the JordanG2446, to whom thou hast borne witnessG3140, beholdG2396, the sameG846 baptizeth, and all men comeG2064 to him. 27JohnG2491 answeredG611 and saidG3004, A manG444 can receiveG2983 nothing, except it have beenG1510 givenG1325 him from heavenG3772. 28Ye yourselves bearG3140 me witnessG3140, that I saidG3004, I amG1510 not the ChristG5547, but, that I amG1510 sentG649 before him. 29He that hath the brideG3565 isG1510 the bridegroomG3566: but the friendG5384 of the bridegroomG3566, that standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’sG3566 voiceG5456: this my joyG5479 thereforeG3767 isG1510 made fullG4137. 30He must increaseG837, but I must decrease.
