2 Kings 8:7-12
7And ElishaH477 cameH935 to DamascusH1834; and Ben-hadadH1130 the kingH4428 of Syria was sickH2470; and it was toldH5046 him, sayingH559, The manH376 of GodH430 is comeH935 hither. 8And the kingH4428 saidH559 unto HazaelH2371, TakeH3947 a present in thy handH3027, and go, meet the manH376 of GodH430, and inquire of Jehovah by him, sayingH559, Shall I recover of this sicknessH2483? 9So HazaelH2371 wentH935 to meet him, and tookH3947 a present with him, even of every goodH2898 thing of DamascusH1834, fortyH705 camels’H1581 burdenH4853, and cameH935 and stoodH5975 before him, and saidH559, Thy sonH1121 Ben-hadadH1130 kingH4428 of Syria hath sentH7971 me to thee, sayingH559, Shall I recover of this sicknessH2483? 10And ElishaH477 saidH559 unto him, Go, sayH559 unto him, Thou shalt surely recover; howbeit Jehovah hath showedH7200 me that he shall surely dieH4191. 11And he settled his countenance stedfastly upon him, until he was ashamedH954: and the manH376 of GodH430 weptH1058. 12And HazaelH2371 saidH559, WhyH4069 weepeth my lordH113? And he answered, Because I knowH3045 the evilH7451 that thou wilt do unto the children of IsraelH3478: their strongholdsH4013 wilt thou set on fireH784, and their youngH1121 menH970 wilt thou slayH2026 with the swordH2719, and wilt dashH7376 in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child.
