2 Kings 6:8-23
8Now the kingH4428 of Syria wasH1961 warring against IsraelH3478; and he took counselH3289 with his servantsH5650, sayingH559, In such and such a placeH4725 shall beH1961 my camp. 9And the manH376 of GodH430 sentH7971 unto the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, Beware that thou passH5674 not such a placeH4725; for thither the Syrians are coming down. 10And the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 sentH7971 to the placeH4725 which the manH376 of GodH430 told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice. 11And the heartH3820 of the kingH4428 of Syria was sore troubled for this thingH1697; and he calledH7121 his servantsH5650, and saidH559 unto them, Will ye not show me which of us is for the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478? 12And oneH259 of his servantsH5650 saidH559, Nay, my lordH113, O kingH4428; but ElishaH477, the prophetH5030 that is in IsraelH3478, telleth the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 the wordsH1697 that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. 13And he saidH559, GoH7971 and seeH7200 where he is, that I may sendH7971 and fetch him. And it was toldH5046 him, sayingH559, Behold, he is in DothanH1886.
14Therefore sentH7971 he thither horsesH5483, and chariotsH7393, and a great host: and they cameH935 by nightH3915, and compassed the cityH5892 about. 15And when the servantH5288 of the manH376 of GodH430 was risenH6965 earlyH7925, and goneH3318 forthH3318, behold, a host with horsesH5483 and chariotsH7393 was roundH5437 about the cityH5892. And his servantH5288 saidH559 unto him, AlasH162, my masterH113! howH349 shall we do? 16And he answered, FearH3372 not; for they that are with us are more than they that are with them. 17And ElishaH477 prayedH6419, and saidH559, Jehovah, I prayH6419 thee, openH6491 his eyesH5869, that he may seeH7200. And Jehovah openedH6491 the eyesH5869 of the youngH5288 manH5288; and he sawH7200: and, behold, the mountainH2022 was fullH4390 of horsesH5483 and chariotsH7393 of fireH784 roundH5439 about ElishaH477. 18And when they cameH3381 downH3381 to him, ElishaH477 prayedH6419 unto Jehovah, and saidH559, Smite this people, I prayH6419 thee, with blindnessH5575. And he smote them with blindnessH5575 according to the wordH1697 of ElishaH477. 19And ElishaH477 saidH559 unto them, This is not the wayH1870, neither is this the cityH5892: follow me, and I will bring you to the manH376 whom ye seekH1245. And he led them to SamariaH8111.
20And it cameH935 to pass, when they wereH1961 comeH935 into SamariaH8111, that ElishaH477 saidH559, Jehovah, openH6491 the eyesH5869 of these men, that they may seeH7200. And Jehovah openedH6491 their eyesH5869, and they sawH7200; and, behold, they wereH1961 in the midstH8432 of SamariaH8111. 21And the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 saidH559 unto ElishaH477, when he sawH7200 them, My fatherH1, shall I smite them? shall I smite them? 22And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast takenH7617 captiveH7617 with thy swordH2719 and with thy bowH7198? setH7760 breadH3899 and waterH4325 before them, that they may eatH398 and drinkH8354, and go to their masterH113. 23And he prepared greatH1419 provision for them; and when they had eatenH398 and drunkH8354, he sentH7971 them awayH7971, and they wentH935 to their masterH113. And the bandsH1416 of Syria cameH935 no more into the landH776 of IsraelH3478.
