2 Kings 14:8-20
8ThenH227 AmaziahH558 sentH7971 messengersH4397 to JehoashH3060, the sonH1121 of JehoahazH3059 sonH1121 of JehuH3058, kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, Come, let us lookH7200 one another in the faceH6440. 9And JehoashH3060 the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 sentH7971 to AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, sayingH559, The thistle that was in LebanonH3844 sentH7971 to the cedarH730 that was in LebanonH3844, sayingH559, GiveH5414 thy daughterH1323 to my sonH1121 to wifeH802: and there passedH5674 by a wild beast that was in LebanonH3844, and trod down the thistle. 10Thou hast indeed smitten EdomH123, and thy heartH3820 hath liftedH5375 thee up: gloryH3513 thereof, and abide at home; for whyH4100 shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fallH5307, even thou, and JudahH3063 with thee?
11But AmaziahH558 would not hearH8085. So JehoashH3060 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 wentH5927 up; and he and AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 lookedH7200 one another in the faceH6440 at Beth-shemeshH1053, which belongeth to JudahH3063. 12And JudahH3063 was put to the worse before IsraelH3478; and they fledH5127 every manH376 to his tentH168. 13And JehoashH3060 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 took AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, the sonH1121 of JehoashH3060 the sonH1121 of AhaziahH274, at Beth-shemeshH1053, and cameH935 to JerusalemH3389, and brake down the wallH2346 of JerusalemH3389 from the gateH8179 of EphraimH669 unto the cornerH6438 gateH8179, fourH702 hundredH3967 cubitsH520. 14And he tookH3947 all the goldH2091 and silverH3701, and all the vesselsH3627 that were foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and in the treasuresH214 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004, the hostages also, and returnedH7725 to SamariaH8111.
15Now the restH3499 of the acts of JehoashH3060 which he did, and his might, and how he foughtH3898 with AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478? 16And JehoashH3060 slept with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912 in SamariaH8111 with the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478; and JeroboamH3379 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
17And AmaziahH558 the sonH1121 of Joash kingH4428 of JudahH3063 livedH2421 after the deathH4194 of JehoashH3060 sonH1121 of JehoahazH3059 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 fifteen yearsH8141. 18Now the restH3499 of the acts of AmaziahH558, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 19And they made a conspiracyH7195 against him in JerusalemH3389; and he fledH5127 to LachishH3923: but they sentH7971 after him to LachishH3923, and slew him there. 20And they brought him upon horsesH5483; and he was buriedH6912 at JerusalemH3389 with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732.
