1 John 3:10-23
10In this the childrenG5043 of GodG2316 areG1510 manifest, and the childrenG5043 of the devilG1228: whosoever doeth not righteousnessG1343 isG1510 not of GodG2316, neither he that loveth not his brotherG80. 11For this isG1510 the messageG31 which ye heardG191 from the beginning, that we should loveG25 oneG240 another: 12not as CainG2535 wasG1510 of the evilG4190 oneG3588, and slew his brotherG80. And wherefore slew he him? Because his worksG2041 wereG1510 evilG4190, and his brother’sG80 righteousG1342.
13MarvelG2296 not, brethren, if the worldG2889 hateth you. 14We know that we have passed out of deathG2288 into lifeG2222, because we loveG25 the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in deathG2288. 15Whosoever hateth his brotherG80 isG1510 a murdererG443: and ye know that no murdererG443 hath eternalG166 lifeG2222 abidingG3306 in him. 16Hereby knowG1097 we loveG26, because he laidG5087 downG5087 his lifeG5590 for us: and we oughtG3784 to lay downG5087 our livesG5590 for the brethren. 17But whoso hath the world’sG2889 goods, and beholdeth his brotherG80 in needG5532, and shutteth up his compassion from him, howG4459 doth the loveG26 of GodG2316 abideG3306 in him? 18My littleG5040 children, let us not loveG25 in wordG3056, neither with the tongueG1100; but in deedG2041 and truthG225. 19Hereby shall we knowG1097 that we areG1510 of the truthG225, and shall assure our heartG2588 before him: 20because if our heartG2588 condemnG2607 us, GodG2316 isG1510 greaterG3173 than our heartG2588, and knoweth all thingsG3956. 21BelovedG27, if our heartG2588 condemnG2607 us not, we have boldnessG3954 toward GodG2316; 22and whatsoever we askG154 we receiveG2983 of him, because we keepG5083 his commandmentsG1785 and do the thingsG3739 that are pleasingG701 in his sight. 23And this isG1510 his commandmentG1785, that we should believeG4100 in the nameG3686 of his SonG5207 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, and loveG25 oneG240 another, evenG2532 as he gaveG1325 us commandmentG1785.
