Psalms 73
The End of the Wicked Contrasted with That of the Righteous.
A Psalm of Asaph.
1GodH430 certainlyH389 is 1goodH2896 to IsraelH3478, To those who are 2pureH1249 in heartH3824!2But as for me, 3my feetH7272 cameH5186 closeH4592 to stumblingH5186, My stepsH804 4had almostH369 slippedH8210.3For I wasH7065 5enviousH7065 of the 6arrogantH1984 As I sawH7200 the 7prosperityH7965 of the wickedH7563.4For thereH369 areH369 noH369 painsH2784 in their deathH4194, And their bellyH193 is fatH1277.5They are 8not 9in troubleH5999 like other peopleH582, NorH3808 are they 10tormentedH5060 togetherH5973 withH5973 the rest of mankindH120.6ThereforeH3651 arroganceH1346 is 11their necklaceH6059; The 12garmentH7897 of violenceH2555 coversH5848 them.7Their eyeH5869 13bulgesH3318 from 14fatnessH2459; The imaginationsH4906 of their heartH3824 overflowH5674.8They 15mockH4167 and 16wickedlyH7451 speakH1696 of oppressionH6233; They 17speakH1696 from on highH4791.9They have 18setH7896 their mouthH6310 19against the heavensH8064, And their tongueH3956 20paradesH1980 through the earthH776.
10ThereforeH3651 21his peopleH5971 returnH7725 hereH1988, And 22abundantH4392 watersH4325 are drunkH4680 by them.11They sayH559, “23HowH351 does GodH410 knowH3045? And isH3426 thereH3426 knowledgeH1844 24with the MostH5945 HighH5945?”12BeholdH2009, 25theseH428 are the wickedH7563; And alwaysH5769 26at easeH7961, they have increasedH7685 in wealthH2428.13SurelyH389 27in vainH7385 I have 28keptH2135 my heartH3824 pureH2135 And 29washedH7364 my handsH3709 in innocenceH5356;14For I have been strickenH5060 30allH3605 dayH3117 long, And 3132punishedH8433 every morningH1242.
15IfH518 I had saidH559, “I will speakH5608 thisH3644 wayH3644,” BeholdH2009, I would have betrayedH898 the 33generationH1755 of Your childrenH1121.16When I 34thoughtH2803 of understandingH3045 thisH2088, It was 35troublesomeH5999 in my sightH586917UntilH5704 I enteredH935 the 3637sanctuaryH4720 of GodH410; Then I perceivedH995 their 38endH319.18You indeedH389 putH7896 them on 39slipperyH2513 groundH2513; You droppedH5307 them into 4041ruinH4876.19HowH349 they are 4243destroyedH8047 in a momentH7281! They are utterlyH8552 sweptH5486 awayH5486 by 44suddenH1091 terrorsH1091!20Like a 45dreamH2472 whenH4480 one awakesH7019, LordH136, when 46stirredH5782, You will 47despiseH959 their imageH6754.
21WhenH3588 my 48heartH3824 wasH2556 embitteredH2556 And I was 49piercedH8150 50withinH3629,22Then I was 51stupidH1198 and ignorantH3808H3045; I was like an 52animalH929 53beforeH5973 You.23Nevertheless 54I am continuallyH8548 with You; You have takenH270 holdH270 of my rightH3225 handH3027.24You will 55guideH5148 me with Your planH6098, And afterwardH310 56receiveH3947 me 57to gloryH3519.
2558WhomH4310 do I have in heavenH8064 but You? And withH5973 You, I desireH2654 nothingH3808 on earthH776.26My 59fleshH7607 and my heartH3824 may failH3615, But GodH430 is the 60strengthH6697 of my heartH3824 and my 61portionH2506 foreverH5769.27For, beholdH2009, 62those who are farH7369 from You will 63perishH6; You have destroyedH6789 allH3605 those who 6465are unfaithfulH2181 to You.28But as for me, 66the nearnessH7132 of GodH430 is goodH2896 for me; I have madeH7896 the LordH136 67GodH3068 my 68refugeH4268, So that I may 69tellH5608 of allH3605 Your worksH4399.
