The Test for Leprosy

2“Whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588someoneאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120hasיִהְיֶ֤הyih.YehH1961on the skinבְעוֹר־ve.'or-H5785of hisbodyבְּשָׂרוֹ֙be.sa.RoH1320a swellingשְׂאֵ֤תse.'EtH7613,orאֽוֹ־'ov-H176a scabסַפַּ֙חַת֙sa.Pa.chatH5597,orא֣וֹ'oH176a brightבַהֶ֔רֶתva.He.retH934spotH934,and it becomesוְהָיָ֥הve.ha.YahH1961an infectionלְנֶ֣גַעle.Ne.ga'H5061ofleprosyצָרָ֑עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883on the skinבְעוֹר־ve.'or-H5785of hisbodyבְּשָׂר֖וֹbe.sa.RoH1320,then he shall be broughtוְהוּבָא֙ve.hu.Va'H935to Aaronאַהֲרֹ֣ן'a.ha.RonH175the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548orא֛וֹ'oH176to oneאַחַ֥ד'a.ChadH259of his sonsמִבָּנָ֖יוmi.ba.NavH1121the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ha.ko.ha.NimH3548.

3The priestהַכֹּהֵ֣ןha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָ֣הve.ra.'AhH7200at the infectedH5061areaH5061on the skinבְּעֽוֹר־be.'or-H5785of thebodyהַ֠בָּשָׂרHa.ba.sorH1320,and if the hairוְשֵׂעָ֨רve.se.'ArH8181in the infectionH5061has turnedהָפַ֣ךְ׀ha.FakhH2015whiteלָבָ֗ןla.VanH3836and the infectionH5061appearsוּמַרְאֵ֤הu.mar.'EhH4758to be deeperעָמֹק֙'a.MokH6013thanH4480the skinמֵע֣וֹרme.'orH5785of hisbodyבְּשָׂר֔וֹbe.sa.RoH1320,it is an infectionH5061of leprosyצָרַ֖עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883;when the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548has lookedוְרָאָ֥הוּve.ra.'A.huH7200at him, he shall pronounceH2930him uncleanוְטִמֵּ֥אve.ti.Me'H2930.

4But ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518the brightבַּהֶרֶת֩ba.he.RetH934spotH934is whiteלְבָנָ֨הle.va.NahH3836on the skinבְּע֣וֹרbe.'orH5785of hisbodyבְּשָׂר֗וֹbe.sa.RoH1320, andit does not appearמַרְאֶ֣הָmar.'E.haH4758to be deeperוְעָמֹק֙ve.'a.MokH6013thanמִן־min-H4480the skinהָע֔וֹרha.'OrH5785,and the hairוּשְׂעָרָ֖הu.se.'a.RahH8181on it has not turnedהָפַ֣ךְha.FakhH2015whiteלָבָ֑ןla.VanH3836,then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֛ןha.ko.HenH3548shallisolateוְהִסְגִּ֧ירve.his.GirH5462the person who hasthe infectionהַנֶּ֖גַעha.Ne.ga'H5061for sevenשִׁבְעַ֥תshiv.'AtH7651daysיָמִֽים׃ya.MimH3117.

5Then the priestהַכֹּהֵן֮ha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָ֣הוּve.ra.'A.huH7200at him on the seventhהַשְּׁבִיעִי֒ha.she.vi.'IH7637dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,and ifוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009in his eyesבְּעֵינָ֔יוbe.'ei.NavH5869the infectionהַנֶּ֙גַע֙ha.Ne.ga'H5061hasnotH5973changedעָמַ֣ד'a.MadH5975andthe infectionהַנֶּ֖גַעha.Ne.ga'H5061has not spreadפָשָׂ֥הfa.SahH6581on the skinבָּע֑וֹרba.'orH5785,then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֛ןha.ko.HenH3548shallisolateוְהִסְגִּיר֧וֹve.his.gi.RoH5462him for sevenשִׁבְעַ֥תshiv.'AtH7651moreשֵׁנִֽית׃she.NitH8145daysיָמִ֖יםya.MimH3117.

6The priestהַכֹּהֵ֨ןha.ko.HenH3548shall then lookוְרָאָה֩ve.ra.'AhH7200at him againשֵׁנִית֒she.NitH8145on the seventhהַשְּׁבִיעִי֮ha.she.vi.'IH7637dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,and ifוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009the infectedH5061areaH5061has fadedH3544and the infectionH5061has not spreadפָשָׂ֥הfa.SahH6581on the skinבָּע֑וֹרba.'orH5785,then the priestהַכֹּהֵן֙ha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2891him cleanH2891; it is onlya rashמִסְפַּ֣חַתmis.Pa.chatH4556. And he shallwashוְכִבֶּ֥סve.khi.BesH3526his clothesבְּגָדָ֖יוbe.ga.DavH899and beH2891cleanH2891.

7“But ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518the rashהַמִּסְפַּ֙חַת֙ha.mis.Pa.chatH4556spreadsפָּשֹׂ֨הpa.SohH6581fartherתִפְשֶׂ֤הtif.SehH6581on the skinבָּע֔וֹרba.'orH5785afterאַחֲרֵ֧י'a.cha.ReiH310he has shownהֵרָאֹת֛וֹhe.ra.'o.ToH7200himself to the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548for his cleansingלְטָהֳרָת֑וֹle.to.ho.ra.ToH2893,he shall appearוְנִרְאָ֥הve.nir.'AhH7200againשֵׁנִ֖יתshe.NitH8145to the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548.

8And the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָה֙ve.ra.'AhH7200,and ifוְהִנֵּ֛הve.hi.NehH2009the rashהַמִּסְפַּ֖חַתha.mis.Pa.chatH4556has spreadפָּשְׂתָ֥הpa.se.TahH6581on the skinבָּע֑וֹרba.'orH5785,then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2930him uncleanוְטִמְּא֥וֹve.ti.me.'OH2930;it is leprosyצָרַ֥עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883.

9“Whenכִּ֥יkiH3588the infectionנֶ֣גַעNe.ga'H5061of leprosyצָרַ֔עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883is on someoneבְּאָדָ֑םbe.'a.DamH120,then he shall be broughtוְהוּבָ֖אve.hu.Va'H935to the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548.

10The priestהַכֹּהֵ֗ןha.ko.HenH3548shall then lookוְרָאָ֣הve.ra.'AhH7200,and ifוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009there is awhiteלְבָנָה֙le.va.NahH3836swellingשְׂאֵת־se.'et-H7613on the skinבָּע֔וֹרba.'orH5785,and it has turnedהָפְכָ֖הha.fe.KhahH2015the hairשֵׂעָ֣רse.'ArH8181whiteלָבָ֑ןla.VanH3836,and there is newוּמִֽחְיַ֛תu.mich.YatH4241rawחַ֖יchaiH2416fleshבָּשָׂ֥רba.SarH1320in the swellingבַּשְׂאֵֽת׃bas.'EtH7613,

11it isa chronicנוֹשֶׁ֤נֶתno.She.netH3462leprosyצָרַ֨עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883on the skinבְּע֣וֹרbe.'orH5785of hisbodyבְּשָׂר֔וֹbe.sa.RoH1320,and the priestהַכֹּהֵ֑ןha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2930him uncleanוְטִמְּא֖וֹve.ti.me.'OH2930; he shall notisolateיַסְגִּרֶ֔נּוּyas.gi.Re.nuH5462him, for he is uncleanטָמֵ֖אta.Me'H2931.

12Ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518the leprosyהַצָּרַ֙עַת֙ha.tza.Ra.'atH6883breaksH6524outH6524fartherH6524on the skinבָּע֔וֹרba.'orH5785,and the leprosyהַצָּרַ֗עַתha.tza.Ra.'atH6883coversוְכִסְּתָ֣הve.khi.se.TahH3680allכָּל־kol-H3605the skinע֣וֹרorH5785of the person who hasthe infectionהַנֶּ֔גַעha.Ne.ga'H5061from his headמֵרֹאשׁ֖וֹme.ro.ShoH7218even to his feetרַגְלָ֑יוrag.LavH7272,as farלְכָל־le.kholH3605as the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548can seeמַרְאֵ֖ה עֵינֵ֥יmar.'Eh 'ei.NeiH4758 H5869,

13then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֗ןha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָ֣הve.ra.'AhH7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009, ifthe leprosyהַצָּרַ֙עַת֙ha.tza.Ra.'atH6883has coveredכִסְּתָ֤הkhi.se.TahH3680his entireכָּל־kol-H3605bodyבְּשָׂר֔וֹbe.sa.RoH1320,he shall pronounceH2891the one who hasthe infectionהַנָּ֑גַעha.Na.ga'H5061cleanH2891;it has allכֻּלּ֛וֹku.LoH3605turnedהָפַ֥ךְha.FakhH2015whiteלָבָ֖ןla.VanH3836andhe is cleanטָה֥וֹרta.HorH2889.

14But wheneverוּבְי֨וֹםu.ve.YomH3117rawחַ֖יchaiH2416fleshבָּשָׂ֥רba.SarH1320appearsהֵרָא֥וֹתhe.ra.'otH7200on him, he shall beH2930uncleanיִטְמָֽא׃yit.Ma'H2930.

15The priestהַכֹּהֵ֛ןha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָ֧הve.ra.'AhH7200at the rawהַחַ֖יha.ChaiH2416fleshהַבָּשָׂ֥רha.ba.SarH1320,and he shall pronounceH2930him uncleanוְטִמְּא֑וֹve.ti.me.'OH2930;the rawהַחַ֛יha.ChaiH2416fleshהַבָּשָׂ֥רha.ba.SarH1320is uncleanטָמֵ֥אta.Me'H2931,it is leprosyצָרַ֥עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883.

16Orא֣וֹ'oH176ifכִ֥יkhiH3588the rawהַחַ֖יha.ChaiH2416fleshהַבָּשָׂ֥רha.ba.SarH1320turnsH7725backH7725and is changedוְנֶהְפַּ֣ךְve.neh.PakhH2015to whiteלְלָבָ֑ןle.la.VanH3836, then he shallcomeוּבָ֖אu.Va'H935to the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548,

17and the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָ֙הוּ֙ve.ra.'A.huH7200at him, and beholdוְהִנֵּ֛הve.hi.NehH2009, ifthe infectedH5061areaH5061has turnedנֶהְפַּ֥ךְneh.PakhH2015whiteלְלָבָ֑ןle.la.VanH3836,then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֛ןha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2891the one who hasthe infectionH5061cleanH2891;he is cleanטָה֥וֹרta.HorH2889.

18“Now whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588thebodyוּבָשָׂ֕רu.va.SarH1320hasיִהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961a boilשְׁחִ֑יןshe.ChinH7822on its skinבְעֹר֖וֹve.'o.RoH5785and it is healedוְנִרְפָּֽא׃ve.nir.Pa'H7495,

19and in the placeבִּמְק֤וֹםbim.KomH4725of the boilהַשְּׁחִין֙ha.she.ChinH7822there is a whiteH3836swellingשְׂאֵ֣תse.'EtH7613orא֥וֹ'oH176a reddish-whiteאֲדַמְדָּ֑מֶת'a.dam.Da.metH125,brightבַהֶ֖רֶתva.He.retH934spotH934,then it shall be shownוְנִרְאָ֖הve.nir.'AhH7200to the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ha.ko.HenH3548;

20and the priestהַכֹּהֵ֗ןha.ko.HenH3548shall lookוְרָאָ֣הve.ra.'AhH7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009, ifit appearsמַרְאֶ֙הָ֙mar.'E.haH4758to be deeperשָׁפָ֣לsha.FalH8217thanמִן־min-H4480the skinהָע֔וֹרha.'OrH5785,and the hairוּשְׂעָרָ֖הּu.se.'a.RahH8181on it has turnedהָפַ֣ךְha.FakhH2015whiteלָבָ֑ןla.VanH3836,then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֛ןha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2930him uncleanוְטִמְּא֧וֹve.ti.me.'OH2930;it is the infectionנֶֽגַע־ne.ga'-H5061of leprosyצָרַ֥עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883,it has brokenH6524outH6524in the boilבַּשְּׁחִ֥יןba.she.ChinH7822.

23But ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518the brightהַבַּהֶ֙רֶת֙ha.ba.He.retH934spotH934remainsתַּעֲמֹ֤דta.'a.ModH5975inH8478its placeתַּחְתֶּ֜יהָtach.Tei.haH8478and does not spreadפָשָׂ֔תָהfa.Sa.tahH6581, it is onlythe scarצָרֶ֥בֶתtza.Re.vetH6867of the boilהַשְּׁחִ֖יןha.she.ChinH7822;and the priestהַכֹּהֵֽן׃ סha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2891him cleanH2891.

And ifוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009the hairשֵׂעָ֨רse.'ArH8181in the brightבַּבַּהֶ֗רֶתba.ba.He.retH934spotH934hasturnedנֶהְפַּךְ֩neh.paKhH2015whiteלָבָ֜ןla.VanH3836and it appearsוּמַרְאֶ֙הָ֙u.mar.'E.haH4758to be deeperעָמֹ֣ק'a.MokH6013thanמִן־min-H4480the skinהָע֔וֹרha.'OrH5785,it is leprosyצָרַ֣עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883;it has brokenH6524outH6524in the burnבַּמִּכְוָ֖הba.mikh.VahH4348.Therefore, the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548shall pronounceH2930him uncleanוְטִמֵּ֤אve.ti.Me'H2930;it is an infectionנֶ֥גַעNe.ga'H5061of leprosyצָרַ֖עַתtza.Ra.'atH6883.

26But ifוְאִ֣ם׀ve.'ImH518the priestהַכֹּהֵ֗ןha.ko.HenH3548looksיִרְאֶ֣נָּהyir.'E.nahH7200at it, and indeedוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009,thereH369isH369noH369whiteלָבָ֔ןla.VanH3836hairשֵׂעָ֣רse.'ArH8181in the brightבַּבֶּהֶ֙רֶת֙ba.be.He.retH934spotH934and it is noH369deeperוּשְׁפָלָ֥הu.she.fa.LahH8217thanמִן־min-H4480the skinהָע֖וֹרha.'OrH5785,but is dimכֵהָ֑הkhe.HahH3544,then the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548shallisolateוְהִסְגִּיר֥וֹve.his.gi.RoH5462him for sevenשִׁבְעַ֥תshiv.'AtH7651daysיָמִֽים׃ya.MimH3117;
