The Consecration of Aaron and His Sons

1Then the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,sayingלֵּאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“Takeקַ֤חkachH3947Aaronאַהֲרֹן֙'a.ha.RonH175and his sonsבָּנָ֣יוba.NavH1121with him, and thegarmentsהַבְּגָדִ֔יםha.be.ga.DimH899andthe anointingהַמִּשְׁחָ֑הha.mish.ChahH4888oilשֶׁ֣מֶןShe.menH8081,and the bullפַּ֣רparH6499of the sinהַֽחַטָּ֗אתha.cha.TatH2403offeringH2403,and the twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147ramsהָֽאֵילִ֔יםha.'ei.LimH352and the basketסַ֥לsalH5536of unleavenedהַמַּצּֽוֹת׃ha.ma.TzotH4682breadH4682,

3and assembleהַקְהֵ֑לhak.HelH6950allכָּל־kol-H3605the congregationהָעֵדָ֖הha.'e.DahH5712at the doorwayפֶּ֖תַחPe.tachH6607of the tentאֹ֥הֶל'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵֽד׃mo.'EdH4150.”

4So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872didוַיַּ֣עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680him. When the congregationהָֽעֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712was assembledוַתִּקָּהֵל֙va.ti.ka.HelH6950at the doorwayפֶּ֖תַחPe.tachH6607of the tentאֹ֥הֶל'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵֽד׃mo.'EdH4150,

5Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the congregationהָעֵדָ֑הha.'e.DahH5712, “Thisזֶ֣הzehH2088is the thingהַדָּבָ֔רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680usto doלַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃la.'a.SotH6213.”

6ThenMosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872had Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן'a.ha.RonH175and his sonsבָּנָ֑יוba.NavH1121comeH7126nearH7126, and hewashedוַיִּרְחַ֥ץvai.yir.ChatzH7364them with waterבַּמָּֽיִם׃ba.Ma.yimH4325.

7Then heputוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414the tunicהַכֻּתֹּ֗נֶתha.ku.To.netH3801onAaron and wrappedH2296his waistH2296with the sashבָּֽאַבְנֵ֔טba.'av.NetH73,and clothedוַיַּלְבֵּ֤שׁvai.yal.BeshH3847him with the robeהַמְּעִ֔ילha.me.'IlH4598and putוַיִּתֵּ֥ןvai.yi.TenH5414the ephodהָאֵפֹ֑דha.'e.FodH646on him; and he wrappedH2296his waistH2296with the artisticH2805bandH2805of the ephodהָֽאֵפֹ֔דha.'e.FodH646,with which he fittedוַיֶּאְפֹּ֥דvai.ye'.PodH640it to him.

8He then placedוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760thebreastpieceהַחֹ֑שֶׁןha.Cho.shenH2833on him, and in thebreastpieceהַחֹ֔שֶׁןha.Cho.shenH2833he putוַיִּתֵּן֙vai.yi.TenH5414theUrimהָאוּרִ֖יםha.'u.RimH224and the Thummimהַתֻּמִּֽים׃ha.tu.MimH8550.

9He also placedוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the turbanהַמִּצְנֶ֖פֶתha.mitz.Ne.fetH4701on his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218,and on the turbanהַמִּצְנֶ֜פֶתha.mitz.Ne.fetH4701,at its frontפָּנָ֗יוpa.NavH6440,he placedוַיָּ֨שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the goldenהַזָּהָב֙ha.za.HavH2091plateצִ֤יץtzitzH6731,the holyהַקֹּ֔דֶשׁha.Ko.deshH6944crownנֵ֣זֶרNe.zerH5145,justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

10Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872then tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947the anointingהַמִּשְׁחָ֔הha.mish.ChahH4888oilשֶׁ֣מֶןShe.menH8081and anointedוַיִּמְשַׁ֥חvai.yim.ShachH4886thetabernacleהַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ןha.mish.KanH4908and everythingכָּל־kol-H3605that was in it, and consecratedוַיְקַדֵּ֖שׁvay.ka.DeshH6942them.

11He also sprinkledוַיַּ֥זvai.YazH5137someמִמֶּ֛נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480of it on the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651timesפְּעָמִ֑יםpe.'a.MimH6471and anointedוַיִּמְשַׁ֨חvai.yim.ShachH4886the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֜חַha.miz.Be.achH4196and allכָּל־kol-H3605its utensilsכֵּלָ֗יוke.LavH3627,and the basinהַכִּיֹּ֛רha.ki.YorH3595and its standכַּנּ֖וֹka.NoH3653, toconsecrateלְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃le.ka.de.ShamH6942them.

12Then he pouredוַיִּצֹק֙vai.yi.TzokH3332someH4480of theanointingהַמִּשְׁחָ֔הha.mish.ChahH4888oilמִשֶּׁ֣מֶןmi.She.menH8081on Aaron’sאַהֲרֹ֑ן'a.ha.RonH175headרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218and anointedוַיִּמְשַׁ֥חvai.yim.ShachH4886him, to consecrateלְקַדְּשֽׁוֹ׃le.ka.de.ShoH6942him.

13Next Mosesמֹשֶׁ֜הmo.ShehH4872had Aaron’sאַהֲרֹ֗ן'a.ha.RonH175sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121comeH7126nearH7126,and he clothedוַיַּלְבִּשֵׁ֤םvai.yal.bi.ShemH3847them with tunicsכֻּתֳּנֹת֙ku.to.NotH3801and wrappedH2296their waistsH2296with sashesאַבְנֵ֔ט'av.NetH73,and boundוַיַּחֲבֹ֥שׁvai.ya.cha.VoshH2280capsמִגְבָּע֑וֹתmig.ba.'otH4021on them, justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

14Then he broughtוַיַּגֵּ֕שׁvai.ya.GeshH5066the bullפַּ֣רparH6499of the sinהַֽחַטָּ֑אתha.cha.TatH2403offeringהַֽחַטָּֽאת׃Ha.cha.TatH2403,and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֤ן'a.ha.RonH175and his sonsוּבָנָיו֙u.va.NavH1121laidוַיִּסְמֹ֨ךְvai.yis.MokhH5564their handsיְדֵיהֶ֔םye.dei.HemH3027on the headרֹ֖אשׁroshH7218of the bullפַּ֥רparH6499of the sinH2403offeringH2403.

15NextMosesמֹשֶׁ֤הmo.ShehH4872slaughteredוַיִּשְׁחָ֗טvai.yish.ChatH7819itand tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the bloodהַדָּם֙ha.DamH1818and with his fingerבְּאֶצְבָּע֔וֹbe.'etz.ba.'OH676putוַ֠יִּתֵּןVai.yi.tenH5414some of itaroundסָבִיב֙sa.VivH5439on the hornsקַרְנ֨וֹתkar.NotH7161of the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֤חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,and purifiedוַיְחַטֵּ֖אvay.cha.Te'H2398the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַha.miz.Be.achH4196.Then he pouredיָצַק֙ya.TzakH3332outH3332the rest ofthe bloodהַדָּ֗םha.DamH1818at the baseיְס֣וֹדye.SodH3247of the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196and consecratedוַֽיְקַדְּשֵׁ֖הוּvay.ka.de.She.huH6942it, to makeלְכַפֵּ֥רle.kha.PerH3722atonementH3722for it.

16He alsotookוַיִּקַּ֗חvai.yi.KachH3947allכָּל־kol-H3605the fatהַחֵלֶב֮ha.che.LevH2459that was on the entrailsהַקֶּרֶב֒ha.ke.RevH7130and thelobeיֹתֶ֣רֶתyo.Te.retH3508of the liverהַכָּבֵ֔דha.ka.VedH3516,and the twoשְׁתֵּ֥יshe.TeiH8147kidneysהַכְּלָיֹ֖תha.ke.la.YotH3629and their fatחֶלְבְּהֶ֑ןchel.be.HenH2459;and Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872offeredH6999it upH6999inH6999smokeוַיַּקְטֵ֥רvai.yak.TerH6999on the altarהַמִּזְבֵּֽחָה׃ha.miz.Be.chahH4196.

17But the bullהַפָּ֤רha.ParH6499and its hideעֹרוֹ֙o.RoH5785,its fleshבְּשָׂר֣וֹbe.sa.RoH1320,and its refuseפִּרְשׁ֔וֹpir.ShoH6569he burnedשָׂרַ֣ףsa.RafH8313in the fireבָּאֵ֔שׁba.'EshH784outsideמִח֖וּץmi.ChutzH4480 H2351the campלַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑הla.ma.cha.NehH4264,justH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

18Then he presentedוַיַּקְרֵ֕בvai.yak.RevH7126the ramאֵ֣יל'eilH352of the burntהָעֹלָ֑הha.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930,and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֧ן'a.ha.RonH175and his sonsוּבָנָ֛יוu.va.NavH1121laidוַֽיִּסְמְכ֞וּvai.yis.me.KhuH5564their handsיְדֵיהֶ֖םye.dei.HemH3027on the headרֹ֥אשׁroshH7218of the ramהָאָֽיִל׃ha.'A.yilH352.
