21SoοὖνounG3767PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074,upon seeingG3708him, saidλέγειlegeiG3004to JesusἸησοῦ·IēsouG2424, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,and whatτί;tiG5101aboutthisτοῦτονtoutonG3778manοὗτοςhoutosG3778?”

22JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidλέγειlegeiG3004to him,“IfἐὰνeanG1437I wantθέλωthelōG2309him to remainμένεινmeneinG3306untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193I comeἔρχομαι,erchomaiG2064,whatτίtiG5101is that to you? Youfollowἀκολούθει.¶akoloutheiG190Me!”

23ThereforeοὖνounG3767thisοὗτοςhoutosG3778accountλόγοςlogosG3056wentG1831outG1831amongεἰςeisG1519the brothersἀδελφοὺςadelphousG80,that that discipleμαθητὴςmathētēsG3101would not dieἀποθνῄσκει·apothnēskeiG599;yetδὲdeG1161JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424did not sayG3004to him that he would not dieἀποθνῄσκει,apothnēskeiG599, but only,“IfἐὰνeanG1437I wantθέλωthelōG2309him to remainμένεινmeneinG3306untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193I comeἔρχομαι,erchomaiG2064,whatτίtiG5101is that to you?”

24ThisG3778is the discipleμαθητὴςmathētēsG3101whois testifyingμαρτυρῶνmarturōnG3140aboutπερὶperiG4012theseG3778thingsG3778and wroteγράψαςgrapsasG1125theseG3778thingsG3778,and we knowG3609that his testimonyμαρτυρίαmarturiaG3141is trueἀληθὴςalēthēsG227.
