2and he wentH3318outH3318to meetלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Asaאָסָא֒'a.Sa'H609and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Listenשְׁמָע֕וּנִיshe.ma.'U.niH8085to me, Asaאָסָ֖א'a.Sa'H609,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605Judahיְהוּדָ֣הye.hu.DahH3063and Benjaminוּבִנְיָמִ֑ןu.vin.ya.MinH1144:the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068is with you when you are with Him. Andifוְאִֽם־ve.'im-H518you seekתִּדְרְשֻׁ֙הוּ֙tid.re.Shu.huH1875Him, He will let you findיִמָּצֵ֣אyi.ma.Tze'H4672Him; but ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518you abandonתַּעַזְבֻ֖הוּta.'az.Vu.huH5800Him, He will abandonיַעֲזֹ֥בya.'a.ZoH5800you.

4Butin their distressבַּצַּר־ba.tzar-H6862they turnedוַיָּ֙שָׁב֙vai.Ya.shovH7725to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and they soughtוַיְבַקְשֻׁ֖הוּvay.vak.Shu.huH1245Him, and He let them findוַיִּמָּצֵ֥אvai.yi.ma.Tze'H4672Him.

5In thoseהָהֵ֔םha.HemH1992timesוּבָעִתִּ֣יםu.va.'i.TimH6256thereH369wasH369noH369peaceשָׁל֖וֹםsha.LomH7965for him who wentH3318outH3318or him who cameH935inH935,becauseכִּ֚יkiH3588manyרַבּ֔וֹתra.BotH7227disturbancesמְהוּמֹ֣תme.hu.MotH4103afflictedעַ֥ל'alH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landsהָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ha.'a.ra.TzotH776.

6Nationגוֹי־goy-H1471was crushedוְכֻתְּת֥וּve.khu.te.TuH3807by nationבְּג֖וֹיbe.GoyH1471,and cityוְעִ֣ירve.'IrH5892by cityבְּעִ֑ירbe.'IrH5892,for Godאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430troubledהֲמָמָ֖םha.ma.MamH2000them with everyבְּכָל־be.kholH3605kind of distressצָרָֽה׃tza.RahH6869.

7But you,be strongחִזְק֔וּchiz.KuH2388and do notloseH3027 H7503courageH3027 H7503,for thereH3426isH3426arewardשָׂכָ֖רsa.KharH7939for your workלִפְעֻלַּתְכֶֽם׃ סlif.'u.lat.KhemH6468.”

8Now when Asaאָסָ֜א'a.Sa'H609heardוְכִשְׁמֹ֨עַve.khish.Mo.a'H8085theseהָאֵ֗לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697and theprophecyוְהַנְּבוּאָה֮ve.ha.ne.vu.'AhH5016which Azariahעֲזַרְיָהוּ'a.zar.Ya.huH5838the son of Odedעֹדֵ֣ד'o.DedH5752the prophetהַנָּבִיא֒ha.na.Vi'H5030spoke, he tookH2388courageH2388and removedוַיַּעֲבֵ֤רvai.ya.'a.VerH5674the abominableH8251idolsH8251from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605the landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and Benjaminוּבִנְיָמִ֔ןu.vin.ya.MinH1144, and fromthe citiesהֶ֣עָרִ֔יםhe.'a.RimH5892whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834he had capturedלָכַ֖דla.KhadH3920in the hillמֵהַ֣רme.HarH2022countryH2022of Ephraimאֶפְרָ֑יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669.He then restoredוַיְחַדֵּשׁ֙vay.cha.DeshH2318the altarמִזְבַּ֣חmiz.BachH4196of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068whichאֲשֶׁ֕ר'a.SherH834was in frontלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of the porchאוּלָ֥ם'u.LamH197of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

9And he gatheredוַיִּקְבֹּ֗ץvai.yik.BotzH6908allכָּל־kol-H3605Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and Benjaminוּבִנְיָמִ֔ןu.vin.ya.MinH1144,and those from Ephraimמֵאֶפְרַ֥יִםme.'ef.Ra.yimH669,Manassehוּמְנַשֶּׁ֖הu.me.na.ShehH4519,and Simeonוּמִשִּׁמְע֑וֹןu.mi.shim.'onH8095who residedוְהַגָּרִים֙ve.ha.ga.RimH1481with them, for manyלָרֹ֔בla.RoH7230defectedנָפְל֨וּna.fe.LuH5307to him from Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵל֙mi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478when they sawבִּרְאֹתָ֕םbir.'o.TamH7200that the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָ֖יו'e.lo.HavH430was with him.

10So they assembledוַיִּקָּבְצ֥וּvai.yi.ka.ve.TzuH6908at Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389in the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑יha.she.li.ShiH7992monthבַּחֹ֣דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320of the fifteenthחֲמֵשׁ־ עֶשְׂרֵ֖הcha.mesh- 'es.RehH2568 H6240yearלִשְׁנַ֥תlish.NatH8141of Asa’sאָסָֽא׃'a.Sa'H609reignלְמַלְכ֥וּתle.mal.KhutH4438.

11They sacrificedוַיִּזְבְּח֤וּvai.yiz.be.ChuH2076to the Lordלַיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117sevenשְׁבַ֣עshe.Va'H7651hundredמֵא֔וֹתme.'otH3967oxenבָּקָר֙ba.KarH1241and sevenשִׁבְעַ֥תshiv.'AtH7651thousandאֲלָפִֽים׃'a.la.FimH505sheepוְצֹ֖אןve.TzonH6629from the spoilsהַשָּׁלָ֖לha.sha.LalH7998they had broughtהֵבִ֑יאוּhe.Vi.'uH935.

12They enteredוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935into the covenantבַבְּרִ֔יתva.be.RitH1285to seekלִדְר֕וֹשׁlid.Ro.oshH1875the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.HemH1with allH3605their heartלְבָבָ֖םle.va.VamH3824and soulנַפְשָֽׁם׃naf.ShamH5315;

13and whoeverוְכֹ֨ל אֲשֶׁ֧רve.Khol 'a.SherH834 H3605would not seekיִדְרֹ֛שׁyid.RoshH1875the Lordלַיהוָ֥הla.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478was to be putיוּמָ֑תyu.MatH4191toH4191deathH4191,whetherלְמִן־le.min-H4480smallקָטֹן֙ka.TonH6996orוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704greatגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419,manלְמֵאִ֖ישׁle.me.'IshH376orוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704womanאִשָּֽׁה׃'i.ShahH802.

14Moreover, they madeH7650anH7650oathוַיִּשָּֽׁבְעוּ֙vai.yi.sha.ve.'UH7650to the Lordלַיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068with a loudגָּד֖וֹלga.DolH1419voiceבְּק֥וֹלbe.KolH6963,with shoutingוּבִתְרוּעָ֑הu.vit.ru.'AhH8643,trumpetsוּבַחֲצֹצְר֖וֹתu.va.cha.tzo.tze.RotH2689,and with hornsוּבְשׁוֹפָרֽוֹת׃u.ve.sho.fa.RotH7782.

15Allכָל־khol-H3605Judahיְהוּדָ֜הye.hu.DahH3063rejoicedוַיִּשְׂמְח֨וּvai.yis.me.ChuH8055concerningעַל־'al-H5921the oathהַשְּׁבוּעָ֗הha.she.vu.'AhH7621,for they had swornנִשְׁבָּ֔עוּnish.Ba.'uH7650with allבְכָל־ve.khol-H3605their heartלְבָבָם֙le.va.VamH3824and had soughtבִּקְשֻׁ֔הוּbik.Shu.huH1245Himearnestlyוּבְכָל־ רְצוֹנָ֣םu.ve.Khol- re.tzo.NamH3605 H7522,and He let them findוַיִּמָּצֵ֖אvai.yi.ma.Tze'H4672Him. Sothe Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068gaveH5117them restוַיָּ֧נַחvai.Ya.nachH5117on everyH5439sideH5439.

16He alsoוְגַֽם־ve.gam-H1571removedהֱסִירָהּ֙he.si.RahH5493Maacahמַעֲכָ֞הma.'a.KhahH4601,the motherאֵ֣ם׀'emH517of Kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֣א'a.Sa'H609, from the position ofqueenH1377motherH1377,becauseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834she had madeעָשְׂתָ֥ה'a.se.TahH6213an abominableמִפְלָ֑צֶתmif.La.tzetH4656imageמִפְלַצְתָּ֔הּmif.latz.TahH4656asan Asherahלַאֲשֵׁרָ֖הla.'a.she.RahH842, andAsaאָסָא֙'a.Sa'H609cutוַיִּכְרֹ֤תvai.yikh.RotH3772downH3772her abominableH4656imageH4656,crushedוַיָּ֕דֶקvai.Ya.dekH1854it,and burnedוַיִּשְׂרֹ֖ףvai.yis.RofH8313itat the brookבְּנַ֥חַלbe.Na.chalH5158Kidronקִדְרֽוֹן׃kid.RonH6939.

17But the highוְהַ֨בָּמ֔וֹתve.Ha.ba.MotH1116placesH1116were not removedסָ֖רוּSa.ruH5493from Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑לmi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478;neverthelessH7534Asa’sאָסָ֛א'a.Sa'H609heartלְבַב־le.vav-H3824was blamelessשָׁלֵ֖םsha.LemH8003allכָּל־kol-H3605his daysיָמָֽיו׃ya.MavH3117.

18He broughtוַיָּבֵ֞אvai.ya.Ve'H935into the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430the dedicatedH6944thingsקָדְשֵׁ֥יka.de.SheiH6944of his fatherאָבִ֛יו'a.VivH1and his own dedicatedH6944thingsוְקָֽדָשָׁ֖יוve.ka.da.ShavH6944:silverכֶּ֥סֶףKe.sefH3701,goldוְזָהָ֖בve.za.HavH2091,and utensilsוְכֵלִֽים׃ve.khe.LimH3627.

19And there was noלֹ֣אlo'H3808morewarוּמִלְחָמָ֖הu.mil.cha.MahH4421untilעַ֛ד'adH5704the thirty-fifthשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וְחָמֵ֖שׁshe.lo.Shim ve.cha.MeshH7970 H2568yearשְׁנַת־she.nat-H8141of Asa’sאָסָֽא׃ ס'a.Sa'H609reignלְמַלְכ֥וּתle.mal.KhutH4438.
