2And they wentH5437throughoutH5437Judahבִּֽיהוּדָ֔הbi.hu.DahH3063and gatheredוַיִּקְבְּצ֤וּvai.yik.be.TzuH6908the Levitesהַלְוִיִּם֙hal.vi.YimH3881from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and the headsוְרָאשֵׁ֥יve.ra.SheiH7218of the fathers’הָאָב֖וֹתha.'a.VotH1households ofIsraelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389.

3Then allכָּל־kol-H3605the assemblyהַקָּהָ֥לha.ka.HalH6951madeוַיִּכְרֹ֨תvai.yikh.RotH3772a covenantבְּרִ֛יתbe.RitH1285with the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428in the houseבְּבֵ֥יתbe.VeitH1004of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430. AndJehoiada saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,the king’sהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428sonבֶן־ven-H1121shall reignיִמְלֹ֔ךְyim.LokhH4427,as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696concerningעַל־'al-H5921the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Davidדָוִֽיד׃da.VidH1732.

4Thisזֶ֥הzehH2088is the thingהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you shall doתַּעֲשׂ֑וּta.'a.SuH6213:a thirdהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֨יתha.she.li.ShitH7992of you, of the priestsלַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙la.ko.ha.NimH3548and Levitesוְלַלְוִיִּ֔םve.lal.vi.YimH3881who comeבָּאֵ֣יba.'EiH935inH935on the Sabbathהַשַּׁבָּ֗תha.sha.BatH7676, shall begatekeepersלְשֹֽׁעֲרֵ֖י הַסִּפִּֽים׃le.sho.'a.Rei ha.si.PimH7778 H5592,

5and a thirdוְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית֙ve.ha.she.li.ShitH7992shall beat the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004,and a thirdוְהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֖יתve.ha.she.li.ShitH7992at the Gateבְּשַׁ֣עַרbe.Sha.'arH8179of the Foundationהַיְס֑וֹדhay.SodH3247;and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971shall bein the courtyardsבְּחַצְר֖וֹתbe.chatz.RotH2691of the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

6But noוְאַל־ve.'al-H408one is to enterיָב֣וֹאya.Vo'H935the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068exceptאִם־'im-H3588 H518the priestsהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ha.ko.ha.NimH3548andthe ministeringוְהַמְשָׁרְתִ֣יםve.ham.sha.re.TimH8334Levitesלַלְוִיִּ֔םlal.vi.YimH3881;they may enterיָבֹ֖אוּya.Vo.'uH935,for they are holyקֹ֣דֶשׁKo.deshH6944.And allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971are to keepיִשְׁמְר֖וּyish.me.RuH8104the commandמִשְׁמֶ֥רֶתmish.Me.retH4931of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

7The Levitesהַלְוִיִּ֨םhal.vi.YimH3881will surroundוְהִקִּיפוּ֩ סָבִ֗יבve.hi.ki.Fu sa.VivH5362 H5439the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,eachH376manאִ֚ישׁ'ishH376with his weaponsוְכֵלָ֣יוve.khe.LavH3627in his handבְּיָד֔וֹbe.ya.DoH3027;and whoever entersH935the houseהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004is to be putיוּמָ֑תyu.MatH4191toH4191deathH4191.Therefore be with the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428when he comesH935inH935and when he goesH3318outH3318.”

8The Levitesהַלְוִיִּ֜םhal.vi.YimH3881and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063didוַיַּעֲשׂ֨וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213according to allכְּכֹ֣לke.KholH3605that Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֣עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077the priestהַכֹּהֵן֒ha.ko.HenH3548commandedצִוָּה֮tzi.VahH6680.And eachH376oneH376of them tookוַיִּקְחוּ֙vai.yik.ChuH3947his menH376who were to comeH935inH935on the Sabbathהַשַּׁבָּ֔תha.sha.BatH7676,with those who were to goH3318outH3318on the Sabbathהַשַּׁבָּ֑תha.sha.BatH7676,for Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֥עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548did not dismissפָטַ֛רfa.TarH6362any ofthe divisionsהַֽמַּחְלְקֽוֹת׃Ha.mach.le.KotH4256.

9Then Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֨עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548gaveוַיִּתֵּן֩vai.yi.TenH5414the captainsלְשָׂרֵ֣יle.sa.ReiH8269of hundredsהַמֵּא֗וֹתha.me.'otH3967the spearsהַֽחֲנִיתִים֙ha.cha.ni.TimH2595and the shieldsהַמָּגִנּוֹת֙ha.ma.gi.nOtH4043and quiversהַשְּׁלָטִ֔יםha.she.la.TimH7982whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834had been Kingלַמֶּ֣לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428David’sדָּוִ֑ידda.VidH1732,whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834were in the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.

10He stationedוַיַּעֲמֵ֨דvai.ya.'a.MedH5975allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971,eachH376manH376with his weaponשִׁלְח֣וֹshil.ChoH7973in his handבְיָד֗וֹve.ya.DoH3027,from the rightהַיְמָנִית֙hay.ma.NitH3233sideמִכֶּ֨תֶףmi.Ke.tefH3802of the houseהַבַּ֤יִתha.Ba.yitH1004to the leftהַשְּׂמָאלִ֔יתha.se.ma.LitH8042sideכֶּ֤תֶףKe.tefH3802of the houseהַבַּ֙יִת֙ha.Ba.yitH1004,by the altarלַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַla.miz.Be.achH4196and by the houseוְלַבָּ֑יִתve.la.Ba.yitH1004,aroundסָבִֽיב׃sa.VivH5439the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428.

11Then they broughtH3318outH3318the king’sהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428sonבֶּן־ben-H1121and putוַיִּתְּנ֤וּvai.yi.te.NuH5414the crownהַנֵּ֙זֶר֙ha.Ne.zerH5145on him, and gave himthe testimonyהָ֣עֵד֔וּתha.'e.DutH5715and madeH4427him kingוַיַּמְלִ֖יכוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427.And Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֣עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077and his sonsוּבָנָ֔יוu.va.NavH1121anointedוַיִּמְשָׁחֻ֙הוּ֙vai.yim.sha.Chu.huH4886him and saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Longliveיְחִ֥יye.ChiH2421the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ סha.Me.lekhH4428!”

12When Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֗הוּ'a.tal.Ya.huH6271heardוַתִּשְׁמַ֣עva.tish.Ma'H8085the noiseק֤וֹלKolH6963of the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971runningהָֽרָצִ֔יםha.ra.TzimH7323and praisingוְהַֽמְהַֽלְלִ֖יםve.ham.ha.LimH1984the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,she wentוַתָּב֥וֹאva.ta.Vo'H935into the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068to the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971.

13She lookedוַתֵּ֡רֶאva.Te.re'H7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,the kingהַמֶּלֶךְ֩ha.me.leKhH4428was standingעוֹמֵ֨דo.MedH5975by his pillarעַמּוּד֜וֹa.mu.DoH5982at the entranceבַּמָּב֗וֹאba.ma.Vo'H3996,and the captainsוְהַשָּׂרִ֣יםve.ha.sa.RimH8269and thetrumpetersוְהַחֲצֹצְרוֹת֮ve.ha.cha.tzo.tze.rOtH2689werebesideH5921the kingהַמֶּלֶךְ֒ha.me.leKhH4428.And allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleעַ֨ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֜רֶץha.'A.retzH776rejoicedשָׂמֵ֗חַsa.Me.achH8056and blewוְתוֹקֵ֙עַ֙ve.to.Ke.a'H8628trumpetsבַּחֲצֹ֣צְר֔וֹתba.cha.Tzo.tze.RotH2689,the singersוְהַמְשֽׁוֹרֲרִים֙ve.ham.sho.ra.RimH7891with theirmusicalהַשִּׁ֔ירha.ShirH7892instrumentsבִּכְלֵ֣יbikh.LeiH3627leadingוּמוֹדִיעִ֖יםu.mo.di.'ImH3045the praiseלְהַלֵּ֑לle.ha.LelH1984.Then Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֙הוּ֙'a.tal.Ya.huH6271toreוַתִּקְרַ֤עva.tik.Ra'H7167her clothesבְּגָדֶ֔יהָbe.ga.Dei.haH899and saidוַתֹּ֖אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Conspiracyקֶ֥שֶׁרKe.sherH7195!Conspiracyקָֽשֶׁר׃ סKa.sherH7195!”

14And Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֨עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548broughtH3318outH3318the captainsשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of hundredsהַמֵּא֣וֹת׀ha.me.'otH3967who were appointedפְּקוּדֵ֣יpe.ku.DeiH6485over the armyהַחַ֗יִלha.Cha.yilH2428,and saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “BringH3318her outH3318betweenמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH413 H4480 H1004the ranksהַשְּׂדֵר֔וֹתha.se.de.RotH7713,and whoever followsוְהַבָּ֥א אַחֲרֶ֖יהָve.ha.Ba' 'a.cha.Rei.haH935 H310her is to be putיוּמַ֣תyu.MatH4191toH4191deathתְמִית֖וּהָte.mi.Tu.haH4191with the swordבֶּחָ֑רֶבbe.Cha.revH2719.”For the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559, “You shall not putH4191her toH4191deathH4191in the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”

15So theyseizedוַיָּשִׂ֤ימוּ יָדַ֔יִםvai.ya.Si.mu ya.Da.yimH7760 H3027her, and when she arrivedוַתָּב֛וֹאva.ta.Vo'H935at the entranceמְב֥וֹאme.Vo'H3996ofthe Horseהַסּוּסִ֖יםha.su.SimH5483Gateשַֽׁעַר־sha.'ar-H8179of the king’sהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004, theyputוַיְמִית֖וּהָvay.mi.Tu.haH4191her toH4191deathH4191thereשָֽׁם׃ פShamH8033.
