35While He was stillἔτιetiG2089speakingλαλοῦντοςlalountosG2980,they cameἔρχονταιerchontaiG2064from the house of thesynagogueG752officialG752,sayingλέγοντεςlegontesG3004, “Your daughterθυγάτηρthugatērG2364has diedἀπέθανεν·apethanenG599;whyτίtiG5101troubleσκύλλειςskulleisG4660the Teacherδιδάσκαλον;¶didaskalonG1320anymoreἔτιetiG2089?”

36But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424,overhearingπαρακούσαςparakousasG3878whatλόγονlogonG3588 G3056was being spokenλαλούμενονlaloumenonG2980,saidλέγειlegeiG3004to thesynagogueἀρχισυναγώγῳ·archisunagōgōG752officialG752, “Do not be afraidφοβοῦ,phobouG5399any longer,onlyG3440believeπίστευε.pisteueG4100.”

37And He allowedἀφῆκενaphēkenG863noοὐκoukG3756 G3762oneοὐδέναoudenaG3762to accompanyσυνακολουθῆσαιsunakolouthēsaiG4870Him, exceptG1508PeterΠέτρονPetronG4074andJamesἸάκωβονIakōbonG2385and JohnἸωάννηνIōannēnG2491the brotherἀδελφὸνadelphonG80ofJamesἸακώβου.¶IakōbouG2385.

38They cameἔρχονταιerchontaiG2064to the houseοἶκονoikonG3624of thesynagogueἀρχισυναγώγου.archisunagōgouG752officialG752;and He sawG2335a commotionθόρυβονthorubonG2351, and peopleloudlyπολλά,pollaG4183weepingκλαίονταςklaiontasG2799and wailingἀλαλάζονταςalalazontasG214.

39And enteringεἰσελθὼνeiselthōnG1525in, He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“WhyτίtiG5101makeG2350a commotionθορυβεῖσθεthorubeistheG2350and weepκλαίετε;klaieteG2799?The childπαιδίονpaidionG3813has not diedἀπέθανενapethanenG599,but is asleepκαθεύδει.katheudeiG2518.”

40They beganlaughingκατεγέλωνkategelōnG2606at Him. But puttingἐκβαλὼνekbalōnG1544them allπάνταςpantasG3956out, He tookG3880alongG3880the child’sπαιδίουpaidiouG3813fatherπατέραpateraG3962and motherμητέραmēteraG3384and His own companionsμετ᾽met᾽G3588 G3326,and enteredεἰσπορεύεταιeisporeuetaiG1531the roomwhereὅπουhopouG3699the childπαιδίονpaidionG3813was.

41TakingκρατήσαςkratēsasG2902the childπαιδίουpaidiouG3813by the handχειρὸςcheirosG5495,He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to her,“TalithaταλιθαtalithaG5008kumκουμ,koumG2891!” (whichὅhoG3739translatedμεθερμηνευόμενον,methermēneuomenonG3177meansἐστινestinG1510,“LittleG2877girlκοράσιον,korasionG2877,I sayλέγω,legōG3004to you, getἔγειρε.egeireG1453up!”).

42ImmediatelyG2117the girlκοράσιονkorasionG2877gotἀνέστηanestēG450up and beganto walkπεριεπάτει·periepateiG4043,for she was twelveδώδεκα.dōdekaG1427yearsἐτῶνetōnG2094old. And immediatelyG2117they were completelyἐκστάσει μεγάλῃ.ekstasei megalēG1611 G3173astoundedἐξέστησανexestēsanG1839.

43And HegaveG1291them strictπολλὰpollaG4183ordersG1291that noG3367oneμηδεὶςmēdeisG3367should knowγνοῖgnoiG1097about thisτοῦτο,toutoG3778,and He saidG3004that somethingshould be givenδοθῆναιdothēnaiG1325her to eatG2068.
