17But in givingG3853thisΤοῦτοToutoG3778instructionG3853,I do not praiseἐπαινῶepainōG1867you, becauseὅτιhotiG3754you comeσυνέρχεσθε.¶sunerchestheG4905togetherG4905not for the betterG2909but for the worseG2269.

18For, in the firstΠρῶτονPrōtonG4413place, when you comeG4905togetherσυνερχομένωνsunerchomenōnG4905as a churchἐκκλησίᾳekklēsiaG1577,I hearἀκούωakouōG191thatdivisionsσχίσματαschismataG4978existὑπάρχειν,huparcheinG5225amongG1722you; and in partμέροςmerosG3313I believeπιστεύω·pisteuōG4100it.

19For theremustδεῖdeiG1163alsoG2532be factionsαἱρέσειςhaireseisG139amongἐνenG1722you,soἵναinaG2443that thoseοἱhoiG3588who are approvedδόκιμοιdokimoiG1384may becomeγένωνταιgenōntaiG1096evidentφανεροὶphaneroiG5318amongἐνenG1722you.
