Timothy 3:2-9
The overseerG1985 thenG3767 must beG1510 irreproachable, husbandG435 of oneG1520 wifeG1135, sober, discreet, decorous, hospitableG5382, apt to teachG1317;
not given to excesses from wineG3943, not a striker, but mild, not addicted to contention, not fond of money,
conducting his ownG2398 houseG3624 wellG2573, having [his] childrenG5043 in subjection with all gravity;
(but if oneG5100 does not know howG4459 to conduct his ownG2398 houseG3624, howG4459 shall he take careG1959 of the assemblyG1577 of 1GodG2316?)
not a novice, that he may not, being inflated, fallG1706 into [the] fault of the devilG1228.
But it is necessaryG1163 that he should have alsoG2532 a goodG2570 testimonyG3141 from those without, that he may fallG1706 not into reproachG3680 and [the] snareG3803 of the devilG1228.
Ministers, in like manner, grave, not double-tongued, not given to muchG4183 wineG3631, not seeking gainG146 by base means,
holdingG2192 the mysteryG3466 of the faithG4102 in a pureG2513 conscienceG4893.
